Does exactly what it is supposed to

He had purchased a cheap drive from amazon that was worthless. We plugged this LG into the laptop and voila! everything worked beautifully and the senior citizen was back in "business".

Burning again

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just needed to replace the replacement for disc drive in an old computer that is used strictly for burning movies and cds (Yeah, really, some people still do this) Anyway, once we figured out how to get program to recognized this disc drive, it has worked great. Seemed like the one we were using before this we just plugged in and it worked. This is probably a user problem, not the fault of the product. After that it worked as expected.

Nice replacement for an internal computer DVD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It is reasonably priced external DVD that you may need to load old software that you have on a disk and to archive photos on all those discs you have left over from the days when laptops and some desktops came with a DVD /CD reader/writer. One word of caution..... the external reader/writer mechanism that holds the disk and ejects the disk must be plugged into the running computer to latch and eject the disk.
