The first unit I received. was defective, as the doors would not properly align. Used the provided wrench to adjust as much as the unit allows, and they still would not align properly. I see only one other review with the exact same problem, but Best Buy took care of it quickly without question and the replacement is perfect! The refrigerator this replaced was not counter depth and I wanted a counter depth model so it would not stick out quite as far. Well, this one is not as deep as my old refrigerator when measured, but it still sticks out a bit more than I expected. Part of it this unit just "appears" like it sticks out more since it is taller, wider, and the visual perception of the doors from the side. As others have noted the doors are quite thick, due to the in door ice maker. Overall I am very pleased, but will ding a star due to the first one being defective (I believe it was a manufacturer defect) and a couple of other things I have noted below. For the money, these couple minor things should have been thought of by LG. I still recommend the product. Pros: -Quieter -Very Spacious -Dual Ice Cons: -1st unit was defective (Pictured) -Make sure you measure and have enough clearance for your doors to open since they are so thick. You may have an issue if you are placing this into a wall or cut out. The right door on mine opens only 98% of the way before it hits the counter (Pictured). -Door ice cubes tend to get frozen together/jammed(as others noted), disappointing. -Door Dispenser LED, could be brighter or adjustable and have a night light option (The 13-year-old this was replacing had those options, despite being "Dumb"). There is no option to control this light despite being "Smart". The ThinQ app does give some control over the brightness of the interior LED lighting, so why not the dispenser light? -The shelves should be more adjustable as others have noted. The way the slots are, the only real meaningful adjustment that can be made is to remove an entire shelf.

So far I’ve been happy with this purchase. Features such as the more easily accessible water filter and counter depth are great. However, the shelves in this model have fewer slots available making it difficult to adjust them to usable heights.

FYI: I REALLY don't like leaving bad reviews. In this case, I wish I had read about my issues, as it would have caused me to go with another fridge. This LG is a great fridge overall, but the reason for 4 stars is simple: 1. Lower veggie- cooled drawer should be split into 2 drawers for each door (see pics). Requires you to open both doors to slide out the single drawer, instead of having 2 drawers (one for each door), which lets out all of the cooled air. Poor engineering, and they obviously bypassed those comments from the focus group (if they even had them) feedback. 2. Annoying beeping system when the fridge is left open for more than 30 seconds (this is also a plus because we've accidentally left the door open after leaving the kitchen and the beeps do help to remind that we were forgetful). Wish there was a way to to turn it off, especially when I'm cooking and have to leave the fridge open for various ingredients for the different dishes I'm making simultaneously. 3. It started rusting by the water dispenser (see pics) after 3 months. What the.....? That's really bad. I pay $2,500 for a fridge and it starts rusting after 3 months? Wow. Personally, I wouldn't buy this again. I'm going to call Best Buy now to see what can be done about the rusting. If it can be fixed/replaced, then I'll return and update my rating.

I would probably give this 5 stars but the listing rated it as open box excellent. I’ll do the actual review, then that will be part 2. I was on the fence about counter depth because you pay more for less space, but we are remodeling our kitchen and I do like the clean look…plus I have an upright freezer and refrigerator in my garage. The use of space in this refrigerator is excellent and I dont feel like I’m sacrificing much, so I would recommend it for a large counter depth. Now for the star loss….I was about to buy the new version on a pretty good sale but then saw that there was one in my store for about $400 less rated excellent (no missing parts, no big scratches or dente). I went ahead and bought it online but when I picked it up I immediately saw some scratches and dents. The manager said because it was already so cheap that if it went cheaper they would have to send it back to the warehouse, so it was a take it or leave it scenario. I did a quick Google, and figured out that I could probably repair the scratches and dents to some degree on my own, but then, when I got it home, I realized that it was missing the ice container for the freezer and more importantly, one of the handles for the refrigerator was bent. that really set me off because a bin for the ice is at minimum $35 and the handle is around 70, so I did go back to the store and they ended up giving me a $50 credit which was better than nothing. it still ended up being a really good price for a good refrigerator.

We have had our refrigerator for about 2 weeks and we are really pleased with it. It has a lot of space for a counter depth and good storage in the doors. It's nice having an additional ice maker in the freezer. You do have to be careful filling larger water bottles with the ice maker in the door as ice will slip out around the bottle and fall on the floor. One complaint I do have compared to my old LG refrigerator is that there are only a few placements for the shelves which makes fitting taller items difficult any place other than in the door. My old LG as well as the higher end LG refrigerators have an adjustable shelf on the top which pushes in to make a half shelf allowing for taller items on the second shelf. LG please make this standard on all of your refrigerators.

The size, over 25 cubic inches is nice, as are the dual ice makers. The bins in the doors are larger, but the shelving space is reduced because of this. Also, the bins aren’t adjustable for fruits/ veggies and deli meats/ cheeses like our previous LG. The controls are on the inside, which means they’re not as likely to be inadvertently bumped by someone passing in front of it (like happened numerous times on our older model. All in all, a very nice refrigerator, but we haven’t had it long enough to verify the temperature accuracy.

Finally bought a French-door fridge and overall pretty happy with the LG counter version. Love the large storage capacity for a counter-depth fridge, the sleek look and the double ice maker. There are just a few things that could be better. If the side of your fridge is against a wall/doorway like ours be aware that the doors are thick (4") and may interfere with being able to fully open the French doors. Our right door can only open to 90 degrees max but we make it work. While there is massive storage, we had to remove a shelf to make room for taller items. The left door is heavier than the right due to the ice maker and tends to slam loudly if you're not careful. And we haven't figured out how to disable/change the beeping when doors are kept open which can get annoying, especially when loading groceries. Overall we are liking this fridge despite the minor quirks.

Great product, Best Buy bad installing service

Overall the fridge as a product is great! Love the upgrade - lots of room, nice and bright. Can get some organizers and makes it even nicer. It does provide one side drawer to hold taller drink items like milk or juice cartons and can maybe hold three of them and some thinner items. I do think there should be a bit more room for them but can lay things horizontally. The filter is easy to access and for the three weeks I’ve had the fridge no issues have occurred. The lost star is from Best Buy and their service. Will warm you to talk to the Best Buy representatives and get a real answer on if they can install or not based on copper or plastic lines. Every person from the store rep, to a customer service rep, to the survey guy, and the delivery guy all said something different. We made it very clear we had an old copper line. Store rep said it’s fine they will send a contracted plumber, survey team comes and say cool we can do it, will replace it to stainless. Next day after the survey team comes, a customer service lady says hey we can’t do copper lines it will be canceled but your delivery driver will be able to install. Ok. Delivery comes and says hey there’s plastic we can’t touch that but copper we can do. We undo the plastic for them but the copper line doesn’t work. Ok. I have to call Best Buy to reschedule my canceled appt and the plumber team does show up and can install it. Honestly huge waste of time that could have been streamlined. I would say just be very clear with what they can do cause right now I still have no idea what Best Buy cares to do.

Good refrigerator, but redesign screwed up

This is the second LG counter depth french door refrigerator that we have had over the past four years (first was included in the sell of our previous house). Both included dual ice makers. The only issue we ever had with the first was with the secondary ice maker, It was the newly introduced Craft ice, and had some issues. Other than that, the refrigerator operated flawlessly. Our new one is the redesigned version of our previous one, except we have a regular secondary ice maker. We'll use it as a backup since we've had issues with french door ice makers in the past (not these LG). Pros: Even though it is a counter-depth, there is a lot of space. LG is very efficient in the design. The ice makers both work well. The water is slightly cold from the dispenser, which is very nice. Shelves on the right-hand door are somewhat adjustable, so one can configure the shelves to handle tall bottles (wine) on bottom shelve. Cons: The redesign seems to have gone backwards. Most redesigning is done to enhance or add more features, or fix previous design flaws. This redesign seems to have taken away some previous conveniences. The dispenser selection is now one button that one has to tap multiple times to rotate between water, cubed ice or crushed ice. This is annoying since we now have to move to cubed ice, then hit the button twice to rotate back to water. Similarly, the other controls, e.g., temperature, ice maker settings, etc., are move to inside the refrigerator. Also, it seems one has to use the LG app in order to do most of the configurations. Another redesign change was to remove the collapsing shelf, i.e., the shelf that the front half slides back to allow tall containers to go in the main section. Summary: Overall, we believe this will be of the same high quality as our earlier model LG. However, the redesign took away a lot of conveniences which we used. Sometimes a "cleaner look" removes too many good features.

Lots of storage space. Ice makers make ice quickly enough for our family of five to have ice every day so far. The look is great. Our previous fridge was counter depth and smaller. This one sticks out a little bit not enough to be an eye sore or bother. I love all the space in the fridge part. Only flaws so far are: you can’t open the right side door while someone is using the in door water dispenser or getting ice. It stops operation of the eternal device. They need to fix that for sure. 2. After 3 weeks the water and ice cubes in the door and in the freezer section still tastes bad. Like plastic. We changed the filter and it didn’t help. We definitely have to fix this. Our old fridge water/ice maker was crystal clear. 3. The bottom long drawer of fridge should Be cut in half. Both doors have to be open to access it fully. If it were two drawers instead of one it would be easier and more energy efficient. 4. Fridge door ice cubes are smaller than what’s typical but being more compact it makes sense. They melt quicker. 5. You have to click the select button on the dispenser multiple times to “rotate” to each setting. Having one button for each selection (water, ice ,crushed ice) would be way better. We never use crushed ice but still have to cycle through it to get from solid cubes to the water. It goes clock wise. Kind of annoying. All in all I really like this LG. I may have upgraded to the Same one with the glass door if it fixed these problems. I didn’t want the tap view glass door. We have no need for it and wanted all silver as it looks better but it doesn’t come without the black glass door. So check out these issues and if the upgraded LG with the black glass door fixes these flaws, pay the extra $ and deal with the black door.

Amazing Amount of Space From A Top Manufacturer.

This is a high quality refrigerator from one of the top makers, LG. It has a great feel and is real stainless steel. It is very hard to put fingerprints on it which is really nice. It stays clean on the outside almost all of the time unlike many other stainless steel appliances. The amount of space in this LG is cavernous. It is amazing that this feels like a normal size refrigerator that is only counter depth. Where they found all the space, I will never know. The two pull out crisper drawers are huge and the deli drawer beneath it is good. The left side door is significantly heavier than the right as the left side holds the ice that will empty out of the fridge. The ice cubes that come out of the door are small. Also, there is no permanent light on the unit and the light that does come out for water and ice is a very weak light. It has a second ice maker in the freezer that will hold significantly more and larger ice. The freezer has a lot of space in it as well and has the drawer that pulls out above the larger compartment. I recommend the app where you can control the temperature, monitor issues and increase the ice level. It is a well thought out app, but it will send you a lot of notifications, including when you leave the door open for a minute or longer. Overall, it is hard to beat the amount of space in this fridge. The left side door is quite heavy, I wish there was some nice LED lighting on the water/ice area. But, this is a quality fridge at a reasonable price for a We replaced a Samsung fridge that had ice maker issues and hopefully this one will last significantly longer.

Replaced a 10 year old Samsung with this LG. The Samsung was a larger side-by-side. This LG has more room yet is 4” shallower. I like having the ice tray in the freezer section. The lunch meat drawer is a nice addition. It isn’t as solid as the refrigerator it replaced. The freezer drawer feels kind of flimsy. Minor alignment issue on the right door. The shelves appear adjustable but they are not. I really wanted to be able to lower one shelf to have a tall and short section inside.

PROS: This refrigerator is one of the largest capacity counter depth refrigerators at a reasonable price point. It has water and ice in the door which is great feature which we wanted. Very spacious with good lighting inside, outside stainless steel seems pretty fingerprint resistant and any smudges wipe off easily with soft towel. INITIAL CONCERN: 8 hrs after putting the food from the old frig in it is had only gotten down to 47 degrees (I have a small refrigerator thermostat). This refrigerator is factory preset at 37 degrees and so I turn it down to 33 before going to bed. In the morning it had reached 37 degrees but I was still concerned because I had lowered it to 33. I did some Google searches and found info that new refrigerators can take 24-48 hours to reach desired temp so I continued to monitor. Long story short after 48 hrs it started maintaining the 33 degrees I have it set to so despite initial concerns I feel it is now cooling properly. Note that temp will rise if you open doors alot. CONS: Minor concerns mostly related to the design. 1) The left door is much heavier than the right because the in-door ice maker is on that side. This creates a situation where the left door tends to want to slam shut. 2) Ice from the in-door icemaker can get jammed up inside and won't dispense (happen only once so far after 2 weeks but I read other reviews that highlight the same issue). Simply opening up the door and lightly banging on the in-door ice compartment will dislodge the stuck ice and then it will dispense again. A bit annoying but not a major issue. 3) Refrigerator doors gasket seems a bit flimsy to me compared to my old frig so it will be interesting to see how it hold up over the years. Overall so far I am happy with this refrigerator but only had it two weeks. So only time will tell. Jury is still out.

This fridge has been quite reliable. It is very quiet and makes plenty of ice. The in door ice bin sometimes stacks up the cubes on the side it is dropping from so it limits the using the full bin, but a couple of taps on it usually lets the ice travel to the other side so it can make more ice. Other than that, we really are impressed with this model.

4.5 stars out of five. Looks nice in the kitchen and works as expected with lots of room for stuff. The ice and water dispensers are convenient and work well. Quiet for the most part, we only hear it when it’s making ice. Connectivity with the app is optional but gives some helpful stats about your fridge and some functions you can activate remotely, like changing temperatures, beep notification options and ice maker controls. The app also gives reminders on when to change filters and if your doors are not fully closed. So far so good, will see how well this holds up over time. The reason for a less than perfect score is that the fridge seems tilted to one side even after the installers came back to level and adjust the fridge.
