  • Freezer Icing Up - Time to Replace

    2 years old….Solid refrigerator, good ice maker (a little loud)…. But no issues with the unit in general other than the cheap film that came off the door adjacent to the handles in the first 6 mos (easily removed). Our issue has been the persistent ice buildup on the sides, rails and ceiling of the freezer box. We’ve called out for service twice with LG. First visit identified a recall on a thermostat/wire that supposedly keeps the ice from building up. No change to performance after repair. 2nd visit included the replacement of the metal rails on both sides. Again, this did not fix the problem. I contacted LG a few months ago as a follow-up and they emailed me back with a self problem troubleshooting step-by-step….after two onsite tech visits in the fist 15 months. We gave up and now defrost the box every 3 months. Thank goodness we have a garage freezer. Saving for a replacement.

    Great products and great service! Best Buy sent professional technicians to deliver and set up our new refrigerator. They have such a great product offering and we were able to find a refrigerator that fit well in our kitchen. Highly recommend their products and service!

    This size LG Refrigerator is perfect for those who appreciate the quality and do not need the size or extra frills. The quality far exceeds others and delivery was exceptional. BUY IT!

    I would not recommend this product to anyone. Do not be fooled by the French doors, the clear shelving, ice/water dispenser, freezer drawer. It will not be as impressive when the product stops working 4 years in. LG had been impossible with coming to repair the fridge. Their warranty service at this point is non-existent. I have made three separate appointments for service, taken off work, and I was not even given the common curtesy of behind notified that no technician was coming. In summary: Looks pretty, breaks quickly, no help to fix it; thus, waste of money and time.
