The LG - Eclair 3.0 Channel Soundbar adds a dimension of depth and bass to our LG TV. Most noteable when watching movies and National Geographic, the enhanced audio effect is delightful.

Dialog is very clear. Dolby atmos is great considering this is a small soundbar.

I have had a problem with this soundbar since the Geek Squad hooked it up. The sound goes off and on occasionally and I am waiting for them to come back to remedy the problem. When it is working, the sound is great.

Because we are older we bought this soundbar thinking it would improve the auditory acuity so we could better understand dialogue when watching TV. It really did not do that. However, because the soundbar has an additional speaker projecting sound forward the basic volume was better.

I bought this item as an open box item from Best Buy, apparently it was not inspected properly by Geek Squad because the soundbar looses audio connection every time a loud noise comes up. Maybe ill give it another try if i buy it brand new.

As far as soundbars go, this one is relatively simple, in my opinion. It works well, but does not offer a lot of features. Specifically, it does not include a subwoofer, nor is there an option to add one later (at least from what I can tell). As a result, the sound lacks the bass that I would expect from an external speaker system. Yes, the speakers are better than the default speakers within any television, but with only three channels and no subwoofer, this is not a soundbar for an audiophile or someone looking to round out a home theater system. The instructions are pretty sparse, but I found the hookup to be relatively simple. HDMI from my Apple TV and an HDMI to my TV. (From what I can tell, the soundbar operates as a pass-through. Not sure if I could hook it up to the ARC from the TV and then use the TV to control inputs... Did not try that.) The interesting thing is that my Apple Siri remote was able to control the volume on the soundbar initially, but then, for some reason, that stopped working. (I had to switch the remote option to IR as opposed to HDMI, which seemed to correct the problem, although I now need line-of-sight to the soundbar from the remote.) The LG soundbar app on my phone is relatively simple, although there are several different settings that can be applied to the soundbar to change the sound (one of which enhances the bass, which did a decent job considering there is no external subwoofer available). For the sake of simplicity, though, I left the unit on "AI Sound Pro," which is supposed to automatically optimize sound based on the content type. There is also an option to have the soundbar calibrate itself to the room, but I did not notice any difference in the sound once that was completed. In addition to the HDMI input, there is a USB input, an optical input, and Wi-Fi and bluetooth options (including Google Cast and AirPlay). The unit also included mounting brackets and a template for mounting to a wall. Considering that you need power and HDMI cables running to-and-from the unit, though, I fail to see the benefit of mounting it to the wall unless you are willing to punch a hole in the wall and run the cables inside the wall. So, overall, the soundbar works just fine and sounds better than the speakers in the TV. I would simply recommend considering the room it will be in. For watching TV in bed before going to sleep, I suppose this soundbar is just fine (and, again, better than the TV's speakers). If you are using it in a living room or are trying to garner a home theater experience from a soundbar, however, there are much better (albeit more expensive) options out there.
