Love my Lg G3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little skeptical about getting the Lg G3 because of the mixed reviews on other sites. So I figured there's no way that I would know if I’d like it or not, unless I got it. Well personally I'm sooo glad I went to Best Buy and picked it up. I absolutely LOVE this phone. I know everyone is going to have their own opinions, but other than the battery possibly lasting a little longer (even though it's not bad at all), I love everything about it!

Phone great, service not so
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What ever you do don't go to the Arden Fair location and have Tarik look at your phone, he will not find the problem you're pointing out and refuse to replace the phone. I bought my G3 and within one week it was laggy and slow. I took it to the Arden Fair location and he waited on me. I asked him to replace the phone due to this issue and he played with it for about a minute and then said no, he could find and issue and that was that. I don't care if he could duplicate the issue or not, it was within the no questions asked time period and should have been replaced. I then went to the nearest Best Buy store and they didn't want to at first, but finally gave me a new phone and it's been perfect ever since. Will think hard about going to their mobile store again.

Made the leap (of faith) from IOS to Android
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After two days, I am happy with the Android change and very happy with the LG G3. After exhaustive research it came down to video clarity and feel of quality vs the Samsung and HTC. The Android experience is getting less and less intimidating but there are a few things missing, especially the Passbook from the Apple. There is probably a replacement, just haven't found it yet. Also, the text system is a bit different, not bad or good, just takes some getting used to and my IOS text messages are still not coming to me, this needs to be addressed ASAP. I started to customize the screens and it is a bit confusing, so more work is needed there. Overall though the switch has been pretty painless.

Amazing Phone, Great Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously love the phone. It's still going for twice the price I got it for through Best Buy on my carrier's site. I own a small business and work entirely from my cell phone, so it's extremely important that I have an excellent phone to work with. This one definitely makes me happy. 10/10 would recommend.

Great phone, bad operating system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was attracted to this phone because of its screen size. It is a beautifully crafted piece of technology. Where I ran into problems was with the Android operating system. I currently have an iPhone 5s and have used Samsung Galaxy devices briefly in the past. I find it hard to believe that with a brand new phone simple apps like ESPN Scorecenter and Citibank Mobile are not compatible with the device. These (and some other apps) are apps that I use on a regular basis. This is a dealbreaker for me. This goes to show that Apple's iOS is the superior operating system. I will be returning the phone and sticking with my 5s with the hopes of a bigger screen iPhone coming soon.

Specs do NOT make a great phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On paper, great phone. Spec sheets are amazing. Laser focus, 2K screen Res, etc... Reality, not so much. Lets get the factual cons out right away: - Display. This has a dimmer display than other phones on the market. Period. I can do without the 2k screen res, as my eyes are good enough only for full HD anyways. Couldn't tell a difference other than this screen is dimmer than my last 2 phones. Example, I had to set this G3 to 78% to match my G2 norm of 65% brightness. That's a big battery killer. - Heat. The phone does get pretty warm if extended use occurs. May be able to fix in the future, but for now, warm. I am thinking from the extra work to power this screen maybe, but not sure. I have never had a phone heat through a dual layer case (which I had for it) before. Ever. If you use it for an hour doing anything, and put it in your pocket, be prepared for some warmth on the legs. Like using a laptop that has bottom facing vents on your lap while playing games "kind of warm". (In hindsight, I guess this could have come in handy in the winter months in MI when it is cold!) - Camera. Inferior to my G2, but I am sure is good for most. I can do without laser focus on the camera because it is just not that hard to wait the extra .5 secs to use my G2 and get a better shot. - Apps. Please be aware some apps are not yet scaled for this resolution so are NOT available to install, period. 2 Apps I use heavily are Office 365 mobile and One Note, both of which are unable to install. Here are the personal issues - I came from the G2, and before that the G Pro. I have had the Sammy Note 2&3, and iPhones before that. I loved my G2 and G Pro for the amount of stuff you could customize with the phones. The camera apps had cool modes to shoot in, the icons could be changed, the screen would rotate to landscape view on the home screens.... there was just a ton you could do. AND, everything always looked nice. I didn't have to download widgets, apps to replace this and that in the UI, it was all right there. It took me a week to tweak my G2 to the way I wanted it. Amazing phone. I stretch to say that LG took a page off of Apple on this new one. They have removed almost all of the things that made the G2 fun. The reason I switched a few years back from Apple was the phones and UI just became boring. This has stepped into that direction. The camera, along with taking inferior pics to my G2, has lost ALL customization. Sure, you can change the pixel size and where the pics are saved, but that about wraps it up. Gone is the ability to have the screen rotate to landscape in the home panels, gone are the brightness and sound controls in the notification panel, and gone are the normal looking toggles in the notification panel, instead replaced by the same circle toggles you find in IOS7. Gone are a lot of the widgets. Understand you can download battery draining widgets from the store that request ridiculous permissions, but I wanted them in the phone already. From what I have read, LG wanted to make the UI simpler, based on customers input. I guess I missed the poll that day, because I didn't want simple, I wanted advanced. Bigger, better, faster, and MORE, not less. Trade the 2k screen and laser focus to something brighter, not dimmer. Cooler, not hotter. Battery for days, not hours. This is a good phone, do not misunderstand. If I was coming from one of my original smart phones, this would be an amazing step forward. This might be great for most. This is not a bash, just facts from what I reviewed and experienced. Please Google some of the cons I have put here, both the factual ones and personal before you buy this. I am not the only one with these issues, and this certainly is NOT a bad unit phone. Best of Luck and enjoy!

Hate the forced update!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Knowing very well that most phones have a mandatory update, I'm usually ok with that. But the most recent update is terrible! It drains my battery too much and too quickly. It also minimizes the sound volume and the vibration strength. Yes there are a couple of things I like. For example I like how I can set alarms and date times more easily but that's really only ONE thing! I loved my phone until the update. Now it just stresses me out and makes me mad. I really wish that they would fix it! It is honestly still a good phone but the update has just made it worse in my opinion. If anyone else has these problems please let me know so I can figure out if it is really the update or just my phone.

Beautiful phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost this phone is stunning! I would have kept this phone for sure if only, and if only the front facing camera did not have a distorted look when taking selfies with the front facing camera. Meaning when holding the phone upright and taking a picture with the front camera, my face or objects that are not in the center seemed to appear stretched out like as if i was using a wide angle lens. I am not sure if all larger smart phones have this problem too? However I do find myself taking many pics using the front camera with groups of people and this would definitely be a problem for me. One more thing, the speaker does not seem as powerful as my previous phone. I had to cup the speaker with my hand to hear better. Other than that, I couldn't put this phone down because it was absolutely gorgeous!

Very Poor Reception In Fringe Areas
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It really doesn't matter how nice the screen looks or how sleek the design of the device actually is if it doesn't perform well as a phone. I have compared this phone to my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4. In areas where the signal is weak, the Samsung Note 4 can connect to LTE and is usually pegged on GSM for phone calls. The LG G3 in the same exact area will have absolutely no network connection. I have swapped the SIM card from my Note 4 into the G3 and the results are abysmal. The G3 is just a very poor performer when it comes to signal reception. I have gone into the engineering screens to look at signal data on both devices. I also use an app called "LTE Discovery" which can eliminate the need to use dialer codes to access the engineering screens. It completely amazes me that the Note 4 can do such a good job at signal reception while the G3 does such an abysmal job. You'll probably never know that the G3 is so bad if you live close to a tower, but all you have to do is take the G3 into a low signal area and the device will say "No Network Connection". The Note 4 can place calls and use LTE data in the very same area. The Note 4 actually loads web pages quite well when the LTE signal level is down to -118 dBm, while the G3 in the same location loses all network connectivity and will not even be able to place a phone call. I have also noticed that the Note 4 reports a better signal by as much as 5 to 6 dBm in the same place as the G3. Possibly the antenna in the G3 is poorly designed or the radio is not sensitive enough. I thought that possibly I may have a defective G3, but after searching Google with the phrase "AT&T LG G3 Poor Reception", I was able to find many other individuals who were experiencing the same exact issue. In fact on the Android Central Forum, one poster said he worked for AT&T in the Chicago area and that half of all the G3's sold were returned for reasons of poor reception in fringe areas. There were also posters in the UK experiencing the same issues. So it appears widespread. I will be returning the G3. The G3 is an inferior product and not worth the money. I'm not sure if this issue could be fixed with an update to the baseband or not. If it is indeed a poorly designed antenna, nothing is going to help. I must add, I have a Sprint version of the G3 and it appears to work better than the AT&T variant. I have read complaints from owners of the AT&T and Verizon versions. I personally can attest to the poor reception of the AT&T version. Some G3 owners have said that they returned the AT&T version of the G3 and bought a T-Mobile G3 which works very well on AT&T without the signal reception issues. One final note in favor of the G3: The earpiece volume is much louder and warmer sounding than the Note 4. In my opinion, the Note 4 earpiece volume does not go loud enough to compensate for noisy environments where the G3 is more than adequate. The Note 4 has an extra volume adjustment, but it cannot be permanently latched on and is very cumbersome to switch on for every single phone call. Samsung could definitely learn something from LG in the sound quality

1 year and 1 month later
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this phone in March 2016. Now in April 2017, the screen no longer works, and prior to the screen issues, the battery life was bad. I would get about 2-4 hours of screen use with a fully charged battery. Simply ridiculous. I will never purchase another lg device again: no phone (2nd phone to die), no blue booth (one also died), or tv( never purchased and never will)

Great but only for the first 11 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was great for 11 months and then the battery would no longer charge. Then I bought a new battery, so it worked until the battery went dead. Then it wouldn't charge again. Sad...

Defective screen after 14 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too bad, it happened today (6/21/2016) which I bought the phone last April from ATT store. Which means I ended up with broken screen (flickering and fading). This is very common issue that LG G3 has. Don't buy it especially if it is used (refurb) which does even have less warranty than new one.
