Feels Good - Educated Effort by LG - Poor Battery

Note 4 in my pocket perfectly content after bouncing from note 3 to s5 to g3 to turbo - to s5 and then to the Note 4, which is probably the best device overall I have used to date. Then I started to get that itch as the G4 rumors and release date were nearing. Before I knew it I had unleashed the monster again - eagerly awaiting the notification that my new package was delivered to my house - I raced home to get the new phone setup. THE G4 could be it - the Note 4's place holder! This phone's battery is disappointing. I had to return it unfortunately. Let me put it this way - if you use your phone for photo's, web browsing, basic stuff you will be fine, and the fact that LG was/maybe is offering up the spare battery for US Customers free is great, but should be a warning sign. The phone felt amazing in my hand - slight curve in the screen was great - and the plastic is nice, not cheap feeling. For me all of that is important, but if the battery can't keep up for the day what is the point, and I carry enough stuff every day - I want my device to be my device - I like case - I don't want to peel that off - peel the back off put a new battery in - charge the old battery - not for me. I ended up with an S6 and despite its poor reviews of battery life it is holding up better than the G4 - perhaps because of the QI charger on my desk :) - but none the less I like the S6 - form factor is great as well - feels more fragile than the G4 - but I do miss the large Note 4 screen - so the s6 will hold me over until the Note 5. Anyway - I am a tech nerd/guru/$$ waster/deal maker on Craigslist to capture the latest device if need be - most new phones end up in my pocket at one point or another. This is - the G4 - A GREAT PHONE for the average user - the tech guru is going to despise the battery life. If you don't mind carrying an extra battery this phone might be for you - if your like me and want to carry a phone and nothing else think twice or look elsewhere for your next device. I might recommend this a friend - depending on what type of user they are - my buddy with kids that doesn't play games on his phone, only takes pictures - uses facebook - reads sports articles yea for him this would work. Another buddy who is playing games, listening to music, streaming videos, using their for for everything - probably not.

Great screen, some dippy bloatware, screen is phenomenal, lots of great features like the 16MP camera. The manual is very spotty and vague. Going on line to better understand the phone is a necessity. Aside from all of the wonderful things about this phone, I am disappointed in it's quirky, bothersome loss of internet connections which happen frequently.

In my opinion, this phone is very overrated. I'm not sure if it's the Lolipop update that keeps this phone from being the powerhouse elite phone i read about in the reviews, but it's lags behind my Droid Maxx, except for the camera which is AWESOME!

As I am not on line 24/7 or an avid texting fool, this phone works. It is reliable for making calls and in a pinch google maps comes in handy. Oh and the camera is off the chain.

The G4 does most things well, but mine had a defect in the phone speaker 16 days after I purchased it. Of course, not being in the first 15 days, I was stuck having to send it back and getting a refurbished phone as a replacement. Overall, the G4 is much like the G3 for most everyday tasks. Battery life to me seems no better. Maybe some techies have things about the G4 that they believe makes it a serious upgrade, but I don't see regular users noticing much of a difference.

Have 3 of these on my account and 2 have had battery issues that arose after the 14 days. Not a big deal just need to go through the LG send in and use an old phone for a while. Not sure what the problem was but they fixed and we are hoo everything is good. Otherwise great phone.

Was a great phone until it died shortly after finishing my 2 yr contract. Got a replacement thru carrier n that one died less than a month later. Had an Otterbox on it the whole time so it still looked brand new. Switched to a Samsung n prefer it much better.

The camera with manual controls sets this phone apart, but it's slow and has horrible battery life. Could have been amazing. I don't regret purchasing it though. I've taken a lot of surprisingly good photos with it!

    Screen unresponsive/glitch

    Posted .

just brought it few days, and found it has 4 issues Issue 1. Screen unresponsive/glitch That means, when you type the sentences, there are some characters did not entered even you typed them. For example, you are trying to type "I am at work." and you typed every single characters, however, some of the characters are missing from the sentence. also, when you are scrolling down the page, when you finger is constant press on the screen, the screen lost signal and then reconnect, it make the "constant hold" act as double click, because screen lost in between, so HOLD become HO-LD. the strange thinks, is when I am using the phone while charging, the problem is less likely happen Issue 2 freeze/pause only downloaded 2 apps, one browser and one chat software. it will freeze/pause for second all the time. I believe it is more like software then hardware issue Issue 3 Get Warm after few minutes of light using view browser, it will get warm. if watching Youtube, it will get warmer, very warm (not hot). Issue 4 Camera although the camera has F1.8, it take longer time to focus comparing to Samsung and iPhone who has phase detection. Also, in auto mode, although it show multiple green focus boxes on multiple areas, it can only focus in one area. For example, if a person is holding a cat in front of him, this camera can only focus on the cat (then the person who is holding the cat is blur, out of focus) or the person (then the cat is blur)

    A review like no other

I was upgrading from a Galaxy S4. Was so excited to get this phone, especially for $1! I really wanted to like it, but I have had a lot of problems. None of the other reviews are indicating the same problems that I have had, so not sure if I just got a faulty unit or what. A Google search shows 6 common problems that they say are not likely to happen to everyone and could happen with any phone. Here are the problems I have experienced: Was unable to set up my outlook email at first. Eventually only able to set it up under the gmail account. Very disappointing My battery died in 2 hours. When I plugged it in and it showed charging, the battery percentage actually dropped! Parts of my keyboard do not work AT ALL at times. I will be returning this phone before my 14 days are up. Not sure that I want to attempt to swap it out for the same phone after all these problems so I will probably go back to the Galaxy. Other than that, I loved the phone and received a lot of compliments on it.

    ON THE FENCE

There's a lot to love here. The phone is very fast, call quality is excellent and the build quality feels good. BUT, there's a lot I hate. The promised, and even reviewed FM chip isn't active, and LG refuses to answer up about it. Also, the phone gets hot, and the battery life, while good, is also strange. Some days, this phone will last me all day. Next day, same usage, it's dead by 5pm.
