Typically, Best Buy open box products are pretty decent. But this one unfortunately was pretty bad. It was not only a used microwave. It also completely fried itself after plugging it in one time. When I brought it home I plugged it in, turned it on for half of a microsecond (lol) and it tripped a breaker shutting my whole kitchen down. So I reset the breaker, and tried it again. Only this time instead of tripping a breaker, it fried itself and would not turn back on. Not sure if this is just a defect of the LG microwave itself, or if it was returned due to something like what I experienced. But basically i’ll be staying away from open box from now on.

Has a nice song… But forget using anything Bluetooth in the house while it’s running. I sent several warranty requests for service to LG directly and haven’t received a solution or response. It’s been this way since day one and it cost so much more than what I typically buy. I was told by an appliance repairman, that came to fix another appliance, that the Bluetooth interference means the microwave is leaking. I’ve now been using it for months. I wish LG would’ve stood behind their product and warranty. My husband said that we just need to buy another one and I’m seriously thinking of going back to the Hamilton Beach. It may rust out after time from condensation, but at least it works a few years without frying us.

After looking around online, it seems that this is a regular issue. PROBLEM #2 - Although this may be unique and a defect, the microwave started sparking without anything in it. I bought this originally in August 2022, and no sparking until June 2024. Conveniently outside the warranty and return window. Run away from this microwave.
