This product looks great and fits the space good, but we are not happy with the way it heats unevenly. Boxed it up to return it and then discovered that Best Buy only gives you 2 weeks to return it. We didn't decide that it was underperforming until 3.5 weeks because we don't use it that much. Stuck with a product we aren't happy with. Will be more cautious going forward.

Bought this in 2020 and it doesn't heat consistently. Not just evenly, but sometimes it just doesn't work at all. My husband has issues getting the touch screen to work. The display is not working properly. Basically this has given us nothing but problems. It's a bummer though because I really liked the dark grey liner.

I am so sad and disappointed in this microwave. I bought it a little over a year ago and really liked the look and functionality of it. I was expecting it to last at least 5 years. Well tonight when I was warming something for dinner a huge rumble and spark went off inside! This has never happened to me before and I immediately turned it off and unplugged it. I looked inside and the side panel is charred!!! Oh my gosh. I am really disappointed and would not recommend this microwave oven. I really had high hopes for it to and loved how it looks on my counter but unfortunately it may now be a fire hazard. I googled average span of microwave and it says 7 years?? Maybe mine was defective ?

The melody utterly ruins it

If you have a small home and you need to cook while someone is sleeping don’t buy this oven!
It looked good on the web, so I told my parents this is what I wanted for Christmas. As soon as we unboxed it, we heated a cup of water to test it out and we were greeted with loud obnoxious beeps and a loud beepy melody at the end of the cycle. If you press cancel at the one second point it still plays the music! It should have (1) alternative sound options (I suggest soft clicks when you press keys) and (2) a VOLUME SETTING!!!, and (3) an option not to play the song. LG has made a very bad design decision, rendering an otherwise fine product unsuitable for customers like us. It would be great in the break room at a gym. We are returning the oven and we are very disappointed with LG. We wanted an oven not an alarm clock. We have an older LG washer/dryer set as well, and it beeps, but it’s not as bad because it has a volume setting. This oven is far worse.

I like the microwave a lot BUT I cannot see the control panel without using a flashlight. Why didn't they back light the panel? I would have given the oven a 5 star rating, if I could read the panel without using a flashlight.

Weak Only works Intermittently Misleading Warranty

We bought this to replace a very old off brand microwave.
My first impression was that this shiny new microwave was actually weaker than our 15+ yr old one. But, it takes up less space so we kept it.
Then a little more than a year later, it stopped working intermittently. I called customer support and they said it was out of warranty. This was confusing since it says 10 yr warranty proudly on the front. That is only parts, a service group has to come and evaluate for a $120 min charge to repair the unit. This is more than this thing is worth!

Super annoying beeps, and breaks down in a few yrs

Just writing this real quick to help some people. First thing is this microwave has a song as a beep, and it's fine at first but get really annoying. It actually might have stayed fine except the microwave will do it like 4 times within the span of a minute or two, so if you like your partner getting mad at you for not getting your food or waking them up at night then go for it.
Also, it broke within like 3 years, and started breaking within around 1 yr and 1/2 to to 2 years. The magnetron or something began sparking and it sounds really crazy. You can see it in other reviews. Anyhow this thing is a scam and shouldn't be on the market.
If it didn't have the ridiculous song beep system (whoever designed that and didn't allow it to be turned off is an awful person) and if it didn't break so soon as if you mistreated it somehow even though you kept it perfect condition over the years -- then maybe it could have been a good microwave. Anyhow, if you're smart you will avoid it.

I purchased this model back in Aug. 2022. So, its been about 2.5 years, of light use. Today (Jan. 2025), I went to heat up a cup of coffee and it started to make a loud unusual sound, so i turned it off and found light smoke haze and odor, when door opened. So of course being at the 2.5 year mark, it isn't worth my time to fix (regardless of any parts warranty). I feel I did not get the value expected with an LG product, I was hoping for at the least a 3-5 year life expectancy. Luckily, i was there to shut it off right away. Could have been worse..

I bought it a little over three years ago with a Geek Squad plan. It's making a very loud noise today and I was only about a month beyond the three-year plan. The controls were always a little weird, but it was okay while it lasted. I just expected it to hopefully last much longer.

Do Not Purchase This Product

Purchased this product from Best Buy in Oct 2017. In Nov 2018, 13 months later, it stopped heating. The microwave was used very little during the year I owned it. Called LG customer service and complained. I was told there was nothing they could do, it was out of warranty except for the magnatron. I would have to bear the cost of any parts and labour. My previous microwave I replaced after 18 years of faithful service (and still working) because it didn't match the new kitchen decor. Bought an LG because I believed it was a quality product. I was wrong. Any product that fails 1 month beyond the warranty period is not a quality product. Many other reviews of persons with a similar problem. I should have read them carefully. Do yourself a favor and avoid purchasing this product.
