    Shoddy parts, don't skip the bad reviews

    It worked for just about a year and then started giving an F-11 error, which requires service to fix. The problem is, the service would likely cost more than the microwave. The 10 year parts warranty makes you feel nice, emblazoned on the front of the microwave, but after a year, you're out of luck on the labor portion. Don't give the company's response to negative comments much credence. This is a bad product with faulty parts, as the many negative comments show. I would love to fix this myself, because i hate that it will end up in a landfill, but that is it's likely end. I love LG monitors. But between this and a front loading dryer that threw errors as well, I will always think twice before purchasing an LG appliance.

    May not be a good choice forPopcorn Lovers

    Have owned this Microwave for 2 years. It has never been able to cook Popcorn without burning it. Seems like it is overheating everything now.

    Fault codes multiplied Best Buy no refund

    This microwave failed to operate correctly from the start, but it was usable for a couple months, but then the fault codes started happening every time we ran it and so it only ran 20 seconds each time. I took it back to Best Buy with the receipt, and they refused to refund, replace, or do anything except advise me to contact LG on the web. This may be the last time our family every buys something *not* on line.

    Fire Safety Hazard!!!!

    Although this microwave is visually appealing and makes cute noises and easy to clean it has a very short lifespan and is a fire safety hazard I would not recommend as it started to spark and if my eyes weren't focused on it it could have started a fire.... I purchased the same microwave twice within 6 years I thought I just got a defective one the first time but it's definitely the microwave

    Microwave Mess!!!!

    Hated it. Too much technology! Thought it would be easier to use. Returned it and found another one. Thank you for return policy. I would have given it away just to be rid of it

    nice style but bad quality!

    The quality of this LG microwave is incredibly disappointed, I purchased this microwave for $106 three years ago because I liked the style, but during the three years, it always had problems such as the display no longer displays the numbers correctly, now it totally dead. I contacted LG, they refer me 3 local shops, but it will cost me more than $100, just for them to look, even not including parts. The 10 years warranty for magnetron is joke because you have to pay for labor; the diagnostic fee is more than the cost of this microwave, Ridiculous! Wished I had taken everyone’s advice from reviews to avoid this product! So I have to buy new microwave from brand name such as Panasonic, of course no more LG because the bad quality and service.

    Fire Hazard

    Buyer Beware: Do not leave unattended. I purchased this microwave in March 2018. It is a decent compact size microwave which is the main criteria for buying it. I needed something small to fit on a shelf. I was willing to give up some features for that. It has had moderate use. It has worked fine over the past year or so. Last night, I started it and within a few seconds I heard a strange fan noise. It started popping and I noticed what appeared to be a bright light or maybe even flames inside coming out the side panel of the unit. I turned it off and took the dish out. Turned it on again and immediately the same result. The area in the unit that appeared like flames is now black and melted(after less than 10 seconds of power). It is now unplugged and will be heading to the recycle facility. Luckily I was in the room because if not, I am sure this would have erupted into a fire. I contacted LG and notified them of the potential fire hazard. They could not provide any recourse since the 1 year warranty is over by three months. They did provide names of local service companies which I would need to pay for according to the representative. At this point, I would not trust any minor repair. I will be looking for a new small microwave and will be going with a different brand.

    Dimensions are incorrect.

    Seems nice but beware it’s not 18” wide. Width is 18.5”, just wide enough to not fit where I needed it to. I did check model number to make sure before posting this.

    Waste of money

    Didn't even have the microwave for a week and it stopped working. Actually only used it 3 times and it stopped heating food. Couldn't get ahold of anyone threw Best Buy, so I called lg. I have to waste another 100 dollars on the same microwave so they'll refund my money!!! Don't even want another one after this. All I want is my money back so I can get a different brand!!!!

    Think Twice

    Purchased this microwave in April of 2018. In June one day the microwave re-started on its own. I had warmed up a cup of coffee for 30 seconds and had forgotten about it. Was cleaning house and was not in the kitchen. When I returned to kitchen I found that the unit had restarted and still showed 26 minutes of cooking time. The coffee cup had exploded along with the glass turntable. Contacted LG and requested a refund as I did not wish to replace the item which I deemed too dangerous (imagine if something else were in the unit that could have flamed). Told to send proof of purchase and it would be taken care of. Heard nothing from them for a month so I called. Apparently the first refund had been done incorrectly and that I would be getting an email with further instructions. Received email and told that would not receive a refund but that I had to purchase another LG microwave and they would reimburse me for that. Said that was not acceptable, that I had already purchased a different brand microwave and requested a refund (which they had indicated I would get). After checking with the “executives” was told that a refund was not possible. For your safety and your families please think twice before purchasing this product.

    No Mute Option to silence annoying melody

    This microwave plays really, REALLY annoying melodies during and at the end of the cooking cycle rather than standard brief beeps. The melodies are really quite loud. There is no volume control and no option to turn the melodies off or change to beeps. This is completely unacceptable and I'm returning the microwave.

    Don't buy

    This is the worst microwave I have ever had. I threw out my other cheap microwave when I remodeled my kitchen because I liked the stainless steel slim look of this. This microwave would smell bad several times when I heated up my food and then it finally just stopped heating totally and it is just a little over 2 years old. LG would not help.

    Piece of junk, stopped working after a year

    We bought this last October and it's already broken about a year later. It runs but doesn't heat up any more. The only help we received from LG customer service was to unplug it and plug it back in. So we called a local repair place, they said it's either a blown diode or magnetron. Common problem in LG products that substitute cheaper parts during manufacturing (our LG TV died prematurely also, the cause was cheap capacitors inside that blew out). Now jumping through hoops with LG on the warranty. It's been almost two weeks and they haven't gotten back to us.

    Doesn’t last

    Worked great for about 2 1/2 years, then it died. It made a really weird, slightly loud sound and had weird electrical charge inside. Turned it off immediately and got rid of it.

    This item is DEFECTIVE and LG will not stand behind their product. I’ve had this for 3 years. Used only a couple times a week and it’s smelling and making a weird sound. When contacting LG I was told they only cover it for a year. My Panasonic lasted for 10 years no issues. But this is what you get from LG now.
