    I bought this in November 2019 on a Black Friday deal, and I have actually loved it for these last 5 months. So, you can imagine my dismay when it just stopped heating things in April 2020. This amount of money for something that stopped working only 5 months later?! No thanks. I'm beyond annoyed that I now have to purchase a new one (going with Toshiba this time). Perhaps I could have this one fixed, but in the time of COVID that is not really an option, and I prefer not to waste anymore money on such a piece of junk.

    Do not buy!

    I bought the first one in June this year. About 3 weeks later, the microwave made funny noise. Because I have elite plus, I could bring back to exchange within a month and so I did. Today, after five months, this second microwave doesn’t heat up food anymore!!! I started to read other one star reviews and I have the same problems as those people. I’ll try to contact the manufacturer and see if I have any luck with replacing it. I’ll update this review later.

    Catches fire

    I had this microwave longer than some reviewers before it caught fire on me – about 2.5 years. But yes, it did catch fire, sending sparks flying inside, while I was melting butter, something I’d done a million times before with no problem. LG says the item is out of warranty but there’s a chance they’ll pay for a repair. I’m waiting to hear. But I’m now considering doing away with a microwave altogether. They’re cheap and constantly needing replaced.

    Arcing and smoking after 8 months normal use

    Love this little thing until a couple weeks ago, when it started horrible buzzz and arcing. Still does water okay, but won't do popcorn, butter, or much of anything. Thoroughly cleaning interior, a recommended remedy found online, doesn't seem to help. Will take it into Atwater Village store tomorrow and see if we can pull up receipt from date of purchase on card. Didn't think to keep receipt because I've never had a microwave go bad so quickly.

    Lived only 2 rears....

    Only got 2 years out of my LG microwave....not to happy with it. Never used it that much...just to reheat and make plenty of popcorn... just bought a new one at BB...but I changed to different brand...

    Sleek Garbage

    This microwave is terrible by every metric. Not only is it terrible at heating food (uneven, takes forever), but the display went out after a year. LG has no support after a year, and they do not care their products fail. They comment on here like they’ll help you, trying to convince you these problems are uncommon. They are not. We have the same microwave at work, and the issues are similar.

    Safety Hazard at 18 months old

    Similar to other reviewers, this microwave lasted a mere 18 months before it became as safety hazard. Cooking food for mere seconds - I am talking heating a hot dog for 10 seconds - caused the microwave to arc/spark and the food to catch fire. Because my warranty is expired for 6 months, they basically told me that the repair is on me and to pay out of pocket. Really frustrating, my last microwave was 10 years old and the only reason I got rid of it was because my cousin was moving to a new apartment and I wanted to "upgrade" my microwave.

    Microwave broke after only 2 years!

    This microwave stopped working only after 2.5 years. When I turn it on, there's a bright light on the right side of the microwave that looks like it has some kind of internal electrical fire- accompanied by an abnormally loud noise. Was pretty happy with the microwave until today, but apparently the warranty only lasts 1 year.

    We loved the microwave, but it stopped working after 5 months. LG has refused to repair or replace. They offered a refund but prices are inexplicably much higher now than when we bought it last summer, so if we want to replace it, we have to spend more, then figure out how to dispose of a basically new microwave. Have spent hours trading emails and phone calls with LG.

    Do Not Buy - Defective

    Purchased this model 1/2019. Failed by 6/2019. LG refunded the price after I purchased another unit. The replacement failed by 2/2020. I refused to spin the wheel again, and LG refused to issue a refund. The microwave was on its own circuit, and its replacement (different brand) has worked fine. Anything can fail once, but twice indicates a defect. And it left me with two microwaves to dispose of.

    Feels dangerous to use

    I used it for less than 3 years, kept it clean, it started making a loud buzzing noise with sparks, last time I used it, I smelled burned plastic and unplugged it immediately, dangerous and money sent to the garbage.

    Second time it breaks in 2 years

    Poor quality. We have replaced this thick since 2018. So it averages 2 years per unit.

    Loved this microwave when purchased. I also own other LG products but this one is a lemon. Only lasted 1 year and 1 day. Do not buy. For this price I honestly expected better..especially for an LG product. Started making a loud humming noise and arcing? Too afraid to use.

    Door Exploded

    I bought this online in white July of last year. The first unit I received was crushed inside a box that was undamaged. The second unit arrived in not-crushed condition. In November, the glass door exploded. I contacted LG customer service and I have been getting the run around for the past three months. The last thing they told me was to go and buy another one and then send them a copy of the receipt. I have spent over an hour on the phone, mostly on hold, disconnected more than once, trying to resolve this with still no resolution. Awful experience.

    Called customer service twice, they were very unhelpful. I was told to find a repair shop to fix the unit. Good luck with that! Went to Geek Squad in Leesburg also very unhelpful. Seems to me that that the Magnatron is shorting out. This is the part that is covered for 10 years but I'm unable to find anyone to repair the unit.

    Warranty should be unlawful

    This is a JOKE: "Rely on your LG microwave with a 10-year warranty on the Magnetron." Labor warranty is only 0ne year, so if the Magnecrap goes after a year expect to pay more to repair in diagnostic & labor the unit costs. LG go F&&K yourself.

    Do *NOT* Buy This Microwave - Safety Hazard

    I bought this microwave in 2/18. Note that my previous microwave lasted 10+ years and still was working when replaced. Now the microwave catches fire when you turn it on. LG will *not* stand by its product and replace it. They will simply replace the part but you need to pay the service fee which means you may as well buy a new one. More significantly a microwave which catches fire could literally burn your entire house down. You should *not* buy for safety reasons.

    I’ve had this microwave for a little over a year and a half; I only use it minimally maybe a handful of times a week - I was just using it to melt some butter (15 seconds) so I waited in front of it instead of walking away. Thank goodness I did because after about 8 seconds the side panel on the inside caught on fire. I quickly unplugged it from the wall. I recommend picking a different one.
