We took out the warranty. When the Panasonic went out we took it and our receipt into the local store. They gave us a card with the refund amount on it. We picked out an LG that was a few dollars more. We purchased the warranty on the new one and spent less than $70. I like the look and functions of the LG and am quite happy with the purchase.

No big deal unless you're already cooking in the microwave and you need to set a timer for something else. In the throes of cooking, I need all the help I can get. LG taking away my extra timer just frizzes this already frazzled cook.
