It is high time that these should come with a volume control and a selector for the sounds. Every phone has this, why not a microwave? I have found directions on the web about how to pry the speaker out of the machine. Thinking about it... Cooks just fine. But wonder about its seal - messes up my wireless headphone connection when cooking. Would recommend, but with a warning.

The issues are as follows: no back light for panel. At first this may not bother the purchaser... but as time goes on... in low light circumstances this will hinder your experience. Next: you can only use the timer in groups of 10sec... you CANNOT set timer for 15sec... nothing else! Touch panel is not user friendly. If your finger tips are not at a certain temp... you can press all you want... but it won't work. Do not buy site unseen... make sure you know what you are getting.

The instructions would be WAY over my head if I were more into real cooking. I sometimes wish I did a little more research on finding a smaller, simpler one. Am happy with the product though. PS-I checked YES for would recommend it, but I'm on the fence because of the long, involved instructions.
