Not working well

Unfortunately, although it is attractive to look at, and I love the little song instead of the beep, I feel like it is either under powered, or not working correctly. When an item is supposed to be cooked in 2 minutes we are still finding it cold inside. When we heat up leftovers, we are finding we have to heat them at least twice the time our old microwave needed. I am looking at how I can return or exchange this item unfortunately, it just isn’t working for us.

Disappointed in LG and Best Buy

Bought the microwave May 12. It was very heavy and I had to get help to get it in and took up a lot of counter space (which I knew it would so that was a choice I made.) But it worked pretty well. The push button for the door was finicky though and seemed cheaply made…but I adjusted my expectation. The current issue - is the light quit working 2-1/2 mo’s after purchase so I can’t see what’s happening with the food. LG customer service was downright rude today even though I was approaching them politely but he would not let me finish my questions or sentences. The upshot is sounds like if you jump through hoops they’ll grant a refund (though I haven’t tried yet so we’ll see). If I want a working microwave I can get it to a recycle place (get help loading in the car) and pay $100 to recycle my 3 month old $256 microwave. Or use it without a light. Best Buy’s return policy is 15 days though I have spent thousands of dollars on products and services at their company through the years - no longer any customer loyalty. 15 days period. Very disappointing experience overall. By the way this is my third microwave in the past 14 months - none of the brands are any good any more it seems!

Would never buy this again!

It repeatedly plays an annoying song when the food is ready that can't be turned off. The cook sensor never worked properly so can't use it. The protection plan requires us to take it out of the wall, take it to the store, and reinstall the new one, none of which we can do ourselves, at our age. And then we have to buy new protection for the new microwave!

My wife and I pleased with its look and ease to use but it stopped working right after 3 month of use. We used it gently — main purpose was heating baby’s solid food 3 times per day. LG offered me a refund instead of repair which I wanted. I asked replacement but told refund is only an option. Its price went up since BF and Xmas sales. So, I am going to use 11 years old GE again or going to buy GE.

Not Fingerprint Resistant!

Also it boils water fast. The reason I gave it three star/average rating is the stainless outside. I wish it had fingerprint resistant finish! Even clean hands leave smudges.

LG is sticking to their guns and have referred me to service centers that can help me - but of course I will have to pay for it. Last LG product I will ever buy. An additional annoyance is the absolutely ridiculously loud music tones it generates whenever you use it. There’s no way to lower the volume. I had to go to YouTube to figure out a way just to turn off the sound, which, unfortunately, turns off all sound including button presses. The noise this thing makes us so bad that it would wake up my family members whenever I woke up to make breakfast for myself quietly. I’d steer clear of LG.

NOPE, not this LG!

So I purchased this LG microwave with high hopes for continued satisfaction. I thought that despite its many negative reviews, somehow I would luck out and get a "good one." Unfortunately, that was not the case. Not even close. After only ten days -- 10 days! -- of minimal use, this microwave went completely out on me. Suddenly no power. No heat. Nothing! There was not one single warning that the appliance was going out. One minute it was working fine, heating coffee within seconds. Then three hours later, I put in a frozen meal. After several minutes of cooking, I was shocked to discover that it was still frozen! Yikes! What the heck! LG, you've sorely disappointed me. Your TV's are first rate, but your microwaves are toast. Work harder. Get better -- much better. I was rooting for you! (By the way, I'm still hungry.)

Worst purchase ever.

I went to check their warranty for ten years written on the front of the microwave, That means you get the part that made it fail but get stuck with the labor on a subproduct. I cannot believe LG put out a product like that.

I do not recommend

The only real negative previously was the annoying digital tune it plays when finished. Now it is 20 months old. 4-5 times in the past several months I had the impression that it did not heat as much as I expected for the time and power level. This week it stopped heating completely, though the controls continued to work. I went through the troubleshooting with LG and ended up chatting with a rep, who, after asking me again for all the information I had already entered, and insisting I go through troubleshooting again, decided I needed to take it in for service, out of warranty (which=1 year). The magnetron has a 10-year warranty, but I have to take it to an authorized service ctr. for diagnosis, and if the magnetron needs replacement the part would be free, but I pay for diagnosis & labor. I chose to purchase a new Panasonic microwave. I'm pretty dissatisfied with LG right now since our LG fridge also quit working this week. Rep said she was sorry I felt that way. I learned that a 10-year magnetron warranty is not worth much (the part is about $60 online).

Terrible purchase

This microwave was working great at first but for some reason it stopped working around February of 2020. It only worked for a little over a year and it just completely shut down on me. I called and I couldn’t get any help from Best Buy or LG. I’m extremely disappointed as a credit card holder and loyal elite member for Best Buy. I’m not sure if I’ll ever make another home purchase from them after this experience.
