    quality control issues??

    So I am wondering if I am just plain unlucky or there is a serious quality control issue with this LG model. I've gone through 3 of these now - the first one simply did not function in heating up food. The second one (that I returned) and the one I currently have sitting on my countertop make this continuous low pitch hum - almost as if its running even when its off. Only time the hum stops is when I physically unplug the device. I tried calling LG technical support and though the model says "smart diagnostics" the app does not actually work. Tech support told me each time to just return the unit to the store. The reason I have to get replacement pieces is that this is the only one that fits inside my older trim. I'm seriously considering cutting losses and ponying up the cash to purchase a new trim kit and different manufacturer. Anyone else seen this?

    Not happy with warranty

    Overall microwaved worked decent. Popcorn button used sensing and that did not always work. Either didn't go long enough or sometimes too long. I am currently trying to replace it through warranty because my control panel is breaking according to the error code. I'm not thrilled with this process since the microwave is now more expensive and they will only reimburse me for the original price. So I am going to pay more for the microwave now. The error code started only 5 months after purchase.

    Second one I’ve purchased in 4 months ... returned this 1st one by using the warranty ... LG took care of my. It made a weird cracking sound... but It’s big, heats fast. Sleek...-and burns NOTHING:)

    It’s easy to clean but I hate the chimes and the buttons don’t always work. Would not buy this one again.

    There is a design flaw

    The microwave oven runs fine. The operation panel does not have enough contrast to see what you are doing unless you get very close. It would have been better to have a light behind the panel or more contrast.

    I bought this microwave to replace my old one and based my decision on the pictures that other customers provided. However, it was way too big and took up too much counter space.

    There is no popcorn button, no beverage heat button. This is a new, nice looking, big microwave, but overly expensive for what it offers in the way of cooking options in my opinion.

    Positives: Powerful Modern sleek look Fit old GE trim kit perfectly Nice melodic chime Negatives: Completely blocks 2.4 GHz wifi. Could not even connect while upstairs when the microwave was on. 5GHz was fine, but we have some devices that only work on 2.4GHz so had to return.

    I know, I did it to myself. Why did I bother with this store? First one I received was obviously damaged in shipping and upon receiving it took a few days for the store to agree to a replacement. This was already a bad sign, it hasn't even been plugged in and we are having problems. Finally received (oh and so much back and forth regarding the returned item) a non-damaged item and it is seemingly fine. A few weeks later and the microwave has already stopped working. Reaching out to this company is a complete waste of time, they just keep trying to get you to contact them another way. Chat tells you to go the store, store tells you to call, phone tells you to go to the store. Big waste of my time, I should never have given into the runaround. Two broken microwaves in 5 weeks and no help whatsoever. You've lost another customer

    Does not work on delivery

    On delivery the item statics and doesn’t warm any food items up. It glitches on the screen when timing is counting down it glitches and you can hear popping. I called support which was no help. I was routed to call another number. Will not purchase warranty on items anymore from Best Buy for appliances.

    Numbers on panel very hard to read without a bright light. Power level impossible to figure out even after repeated YouTube videos. Very dark interior.

    This doesn't seem to be 1200 watts as advertised. It takes 3 minutes to pop corn (not in bags, but microwave container) that took 2 minutes to pop on two other microwaves I have owned.

    The only 2 positive things I can say about this microwave is it defrosts well and I like the large capacity which is one of the reasons I bought this product in the first place. Other than that the power levels seem to vary as even though the manual states it should automatically default to the highest level which is 10. The results of reheating a plate of leftovers varies from one time it will only take 2.5 minutes. The next time it can take anywhere between 6-10 minutes and it finally gets hot enough. We've tried several different modes and setting without getting consistent results. The countdown timer will occasionally disappear all together for reasons unknown. I've looked up on the internet for fixes or similar issues and haven't found any. I've even went to the LG website without finding a solution. Now I'm going to have to try and get it fixed or return it. Very frustrating!

    This microwave seemed like a bargain when we bought it on sale. It's met our needs for the past 19 months... and then it started acting erratically. The display reads 88:88 and it beeps every 5 seconds or so. I just got off the phone with LG, and they suspect a display problem. The warranty is only one year, so it will probably cost more to fix this unit than to replace it. Very disappointed that it didn't last any longer.

    Three Month Death Noise

    Our old microwave finally gave out after 10 years. We chose to replace it with the same model because it was so reliable. BAD IDEA! We’ve had it a little over 3 months and now it’s making a “DEATH NOISE”! Too late to return it.

    First microwave I've ever purchased new and first one to ever die on me! Within a year and a half at that!!! LG was kind enough to let me know they only back their defective products for up to 12 months, but would be happy to provide me with a list of local repair centers near me that would be willing to look at the $200 microwave for minimum service fee of $150... Should have not gone cheap and bought the Bosch to match the rest of my kitchen...
