Don't Fall for LG's 10-year Magnetron Warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only after 4 years, the microwave oven stopped cooking/warming things. Called LG support to hear that the magnetron seemed to be prematurely failed. Received two authorized service center contacts, one said, "no LG appliance service" the other cannot be reached, not even named correctly. All this makes me wonder if their warranty repair/part is worth or not when considering the labor cost. Might as well buying a new one, but not LG next time.

Seems Under-powered.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a Samsung 1200W microwave with this LG unit which also claims to be 1200 Watts. I notice it takes a longer time to warm up with the new LG unit. It should be the same as the old one since they both claim the same power levels. I wonder if LG is playing games with the specs.

Short term great, long term it’s a bust.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a huge fan of this microwave. After 2 years the numbers started fading and now they barely work (3 1/2 years). The open button has now stopped working and it doesn’t seem to be heating as well. Time to start shopping again.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.COMPLETE GARBAGE it smokes and sparks and almost catches fire. I contacted Best Buy about this and they just brushed me off to the manufacturer after spending over $20,000 at Best Buy. Needless to say I will never shop at Best Buy again! I contacted LG and got the worst customer service ever so I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they even ignored that as well! I have 6 LG products in my home and again needless to say I will never buy an LG product ever again! LG gave me the worst customer service ever. I think they’re still in business just because people don’t complain enough and ignore the reviews.

Worked for 1 Month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to purchase this microwave. I did a lot of research and stayed away from other brands as the customer service had poor ratings. I loved the way this microwave worked for the month it worked. Like others giving it a low rating, I was heating up food and it was ice cold after 4 minutes. When I added more time, the microwave tripped my circuit breaker. It tripped the breaker each time I tried to use it. It finally just wouldn't even light up at all. I had an electrician come and test all my outlets. We tried plugging the microwave into 4 different outlets. Power was coming out of the unit to the plug but not even lighting the clock. I called customer service and am waiting for the email telling me how to get my money back. I sure hope I can get a true refund. From what I am reading here, it is not likely.

broke at 3 years, customer svc/warranty useless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good while it lasted, but broke after 3 years. And, dealing with LG customer service/warranty was an absolute nightmare! 3 years after buying the microwave, the magnetron broke (supposedly covered under a 10 year warranty- but don't get too excited, that's parts only, and labor is on the consumer). The unit I had was built into my kitchen cabinets using a trim kit. First, LG insisted that the serial number was inside the door in the front of the unit, and after 2 weeks of back-and-forth, they finally realized that the model is technically a countertop version and had to be pulled out of the cabinet just to find the serial number on the back (do yourself a favor and if building this unit into cabinets, record your serial number before installing... lesson learned). So I took off the trim kit, pulled out the unit, and then the nightmare continues. Emails back-and-forth, and at least 5 phone calls with customer service, some lasting up to one hour, ensued, with them asking me to upload my purchase receipt. Each time I did, and it was verified by the customer service representative to have been received while I was on the phone, the receipt was to be forwarded to their "review team" to assess coverage, I then would get an email back 5-7 days later saying that they were still waiting for me to submit my receipt. And each time you call customer service, it generates a new encounter number that supersedes all other numbers to refer to your problem in the future. So on my fifth phone call, the customer service rep says "I don't know why they were asking you for your receipt, you are supposed to simply take it to an approved LG repair center, and they should be able to figure out coverage based on your serial number... You really never needed to submit the receipt... The other (4) customer service reps should've told you that." So I get the name of an approved repair center (closest 20 miles away), called them, and it will cost me $50 diagnosis fee (not covered by LG), and the installation of a new magneton would cost another $80, bringing the cost of repair under their "10 year magneton warranty" to $130. So for $70 more, you can just get an entire new microwave. They would also not ship me a new magneton myself for me to install. Probably the most frustrating thing of this is that despite the pain it will bring me, I'm likely going to end up buying a new LG microwave simply because my trim kit will not fit anything else, and I’m not about to throw out the trim kit which also costs a lot of money. I also emailed the head of customer service and the head of repair at their corporate headquarters with this saga, and the response was… crickets. The microwave worked well for ONLY 3 years, and if you’re depending on the warranty coverage, particularly the 10 year magneton warranty that they’re so proud of to have permanently stamped it on the front of their unit, you’re in for an unpleasant surprise. Their customer service is a joke (actually, a very unfunny joke).

Better buy the extended warranty !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After less than 18 months of normal household use, the oven remained on even with the microwave oven door open. That's a critical safety issue! The interlock switches are like a $1 item, but it cost about $150 in labor to get them replaced. At that point, one is better off just getting a new one. I contacted LG and was told it was the door interlock switches and that they'd refund my money. Well, to make a long story short, they finally decided they wouldn't give me anything as it had been over a year. This was after a month spending time on the phone and emailing them. Each time, except this last time, they said they would pay for the oven...then nothing was forthcoming , this last time, they said "No.!" Oh, but the magnetron warranty is still valid, they said. Their "10 magnetron warranty" is clever marketing but worthless because what good is a magnetron, even if working, if I don't have working microwave oven around it? So, this time when I bought another oven, I also paid extra for a four year warranty...but why, oh why, can't the manufacturers make a microwave oven that lasts? Talk about global warming and "carbon footprint!" How much of the earth's resources, not to mention my own gold, am I dumping into a landfill because LG cannot make a reliable microwave oven? I gave a low rating on value because if you buy this oven you're going to paying for it all over again too soon!

Cheap Plastic Used for Moving Parts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cheap material. The button to open the door has two small pieces of plastic holding it in place; they broke after a few months. We lived with it for about two years until the keypad started to malfunction. I'm now replacing it with something other than LG. I also hate that it beeps every 10 seconds for 2 minutes after something is done. There is no option to turn off the beep.

was great while it worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this microwave Christmas 2017. Loved how quiet it was, cooked very nicely. The reheat settings were right on. The microwave got average use. August 2019 it stops heating, not even 2 years old and it is broken. Everything runs except the heating element(magnatron?) is not working. The LG service rep basically said it would cost more to repair the microwave than replacing it. We were given 2 repair shops to call, one would not even accept warranty work, too busy. This microwave states a 10 year warranty for the Smart Inverter. This is not a quality product! LG will not back up their product.

3 Strikes, Your Out!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave has to be the worst ever. I have gone through 3 disasters with this model: #1) lasted 1.5 years. It worked fine, but on the inside, the paint bubbled up, chipped, and it rusted. Aside from looking awful, this was potentially a safety hazard in more than one way. #2) Lasted 1 week, then randomly started running without anyone trying to cook anything. We had to keep it unplugged to keep the house from burning down until getting it returned. #3) After owning for just a little while, the keyboard would often stop working, and we would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work. That was annoying. I had planned to return as soon as I got time, but at about 6 months after purchase, it randomly stopped heating completely. The only reason I had 3 of these is because that was all that was in stock in the store at that size. When they tried to replace it with a 4th, I refused and had them order and ship a different brand. I don’t understand how it has such good reviews- surely I didn’t happen to get the only 3 lemons out there. My recommendation is to stay away from this model. And make sure you invest in the protection plan if you do purchase.

The microwave keeps dying/shorting out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second time buying this microwave. The first time, after a couple of years, the microwave just went out mid-cook. I figured maybe it was my fault as I was bit rough with it. I replaced it with the exact same microwave and less than 2 years later its doing the same thing. I know it wasn't me this time. There's no way that the same thing has happened twice around the same amount of time of use.

Posted .Hi there, Brandon. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that you're having repeated issues with your LG LMC2075ST microwave, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work through this with you.
Based on your description, we recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to see if we can get your microwave back up and running:
Check the power outlet: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet, and verify that the outlet is working by testing it with another device.
Reset the GFCI outlet: If you have a GFCI outlet, it could have tripped. Try resetting it and then retrying the microwave.
Check the Circuit Breaker: Turn off the circuit breaker, wait 5 seconds, and then turn it back on before retrying the microwave.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be an internal issue with the microwave that requires service.

Worked for 2 Days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old microwave totally shut down and I have always liked LG products. I went on to Best Buy’s website found the black stainless and ordered. It was on sale and I also had a Best Buy rewards certificate which made the purchase awesome. It was delivered on 11-8-18 and I immediately set it up and used it. Very quiet and looked great. Yesterday 11-10-18 I proceeded to reheat some food and when I took it out it was still as cold as it was when started. ONLY 2 DAYS OF USE! Tried all the reset procedures then called LG. They took me through the same steps still no heating. Uploaded my receipt in the LG website with my claim number so we will see how this gets handled. May be the last LG product I purchase

Died after 3 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this microwave 3 1/2 years ago and it’s now broken. Got the F3 error others have referred to so it’s shot without repair, which will cost more than the unit is worth. Disappointed in its quick demise, you’d think an appliance like this would last more that 3 1/2 years. About 6 months ago the latch release that opens the door also broke, you have to hold down one side of the latch to provide pressure to open the door. Just silly.

Third time is the charm.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If they work these are really nice microwaves. The problem is I bought one and it died after 6 months. We called LG and they said they don't repair them just buy another one and send us the receipt an we will send you a check. We did as they said and it took over a year of calling them and sitting on hold for hours to get a check to cover the replacement we bought. Unfortunately the replacement died after 7-8 months of light use and before we got the check. $220 for 14-15 months of use is horrible. After taking it to a higher level I managed to get all my money back. The average consumer would not get their total purchase back. We bought the exact same microwave again with the best buy extended warranty. If best buy covers the failures and replaces it for a few years I will be satisfied. The auto heat function is better than the old timer based units. If they keep working I would score it much higher. We got about 30+ years out of our Litton microwave. If you really like this unit don't buy it without the warranty.
