I love my lg sound bar it's loud and high tech glad I made this purchase.

Easy to install-looks nice-helpful at best buy as to what would work.

Do not buy. The sound is terrible. Not enough functions for the price

My review is more about the salesman. He told me you just plug the sound bar in. He didn't ask what kind of tv we have. It won't work it the tv is just 3 years old and it only works the way he described it if you have an LG television. We now have to buy a new tv to get the sound bar to work for us.

The sound quality of this soundbar exceeds my expectations. Easy setup. Good bass from the subwoofer. Worth the money. Brings the sound of music and movies to life. Excellent sound for the size of my room.

I actually would like to return this item it goes in and out for wtvr reason. I think it might be a defective item. Let me know what the next steps are please

Bought this on black Friday to enhance my TV sound system but it was a bad choice. The sound is really bad.

Sound cuts on and off while its on. I try more exspensive optical cord but it still dod the samething.

Great soundbar for the price. The set up was incredibly easy. It's also a sharp looking and not too large. It is not tall enough to block any portion of the television. My only complaint is I could not sync any of my other remotes with the soundbar. One of my remotes will work to adjust the volume but displays an error message every time. Just a small annoyance which would not prevent me from recommending this to others.

Noticed the good reviews on this unit before going to Best Buy to look at all the options. Stayed with this one as it blew the others away in the same price range. Love the location flexibility of the wireless subwoofer, easily syncs up via Bluetooth to my portable devices, was easy to set up, and the sound is great!! Love it!

I recently bought a Samsung flat screen TV with the typical pathetic built-in speakers...why TV manufacturers even bother with this design I have no idea. After doing some research, I had my mind set on a specific Samsung brand sound bar when I visited my local Best Buy. A sales associate recommended this LG sound bar in place of what I had previously decided upon and I am glad he did. The LG product has a quality appearance to it, and the sound quality is great. This particular model lends itself better to table top usage as opposed to wall mounting (in my opinion). The bar itself is a little heavier than the some of the other ones I looked at. The wall mount brackets attach to the bottom of the sound bar rather than to the back of it and in some mounting situations this may present a bigger challenge to mounting the bar. I have hooked it up to the TV using both an optical cable and an HDMI cable to take advantage of the audio return channel feature. Using the ARC connection, the bar will power up and turn off with the TV. Using the optical connection, it will not and you need to power it on and off with its own remote control. Getting it hooked up and working was a bit complicated because of the settings in the TV and using two different manufacturers (Samsung and LG) meant that some of the nomenclature in describing settings doesn't always match one another. Once it is all set up properly, I can control the TV and sound bar with either the TV's remote, or with DirecTV's remote. The Bluetooth subwoofer does not give you the option of using a cable connection to the sound bar. I had been using a Bluetooth headphone dongle on the TV and when you turn on the system, the sound bar wants to pair with the headphone system rather than its subwoofer, so I guess I will have to forego the headphone connection. Other than that, I had no real issues to resolve with the installation.

The LG LAS551H Sound Bar is a great affordable solution for those who want a full featured sound system or complement their existing AV system. The HDMI pass through allows other compatible surround sound components to work in unison. The wireless powered sub woofer's range is more than adequate to place it on the opposite side of your family room to provide a haunting low end rumble to any viewing experience. I highly recommend you purchase this component for its dollar spent to value gained complement to your home theater system.

Wanted to get rid of speaker wires everywhere, so went to a soundbar system instead of the full true 5.1. Could not be happier! Although it still is lacking complete surround sound of course due to it only being 2.1...it still is more than enough for most rooms. Got it on sale for 199.99 ($100 off) and its a steal!

This LG sound bar was installed in conjunction with our Vizio M60-C3 UHD TV. Absolutely fantastic, room filling sound. Voices are clear, sounds have an incredible amount of depth, and the bass adds value to the experience without over-powering. Many of the sound bar systems had extremely intense bass, but the LG balances the bass well regardless of action, music, conversation, etc. The biggest issue we had was the installation. It took the Geek Squad rep an hour to get the Rocketfish brackets to work. The BB store rep did not tell me that this LG sound bar is meant to mount to the wall directly vs. use a mount under the TV. The Rocketfish brackets needed to be re-engineered to make this work, which meant a ton of drilling and plastic zip ties. We decided that we didn't want to add more holes in the wall but the Geek Squad rep made it work. LG, one suggestion: The readout on the front says "Optical" when on. I would have the system go dark, or place a clock instead. It's a little distracting to always see "Optical".

Purchased this today,and set it up when I got home. Connected via optical cable,which was included without Any problem. Subwoofer connected immediately. I'm not mounting the bar ,just sitting in front of my Vizio on TV stand. Like the sound this bar produces. Connected my Apple by way of Bluetooth also. Again,connected well. Sound from my IPhone thru the bar is Fantastic. I'm using this soundbar to replace a stereo receiver and 2 sets of speakers. Well satisfied with this buy!!

Purchased this recently on sale for $229, even came with an optical cable even though I'd purchased one along with it anyway. Considering the sale price, it sounded much better than comparable units in the same price bracket. Bluetooth streaming is awesome, range is pretty good although not quite as good as I'd hoped (large living room but connection gets spotty when I'm on the opposite side of my 1400sqft house). Have yet to watch movies with it but it makes a significant difference while watching regular television. I mainly wanted a soundbar for the Bluetooth streaming from my portable devices so this does what I was looking for. Also for the record if you have/are going to view the in store unit- the sub has an adjustment via the remote, as well as basic bass/treble controls. If you're looking to not break the bank on a soundbar purchase and want to keep your system and setup simple, this unit is definitely worth a look

At the current sale price the LG LAS551H does not disappoint. At 320w the sound quality is excellent for the price and it outperforms some higher end sound bars. With a slim design wrapped around a metallic frame the LG LAS551H is a great value.

I find the sound to be amazing for the money. I just wish the subwoofer came with a base control on it. Adjusting it through the sound bar to me has little effect. It seems to sound best placing it right next to the tv rather to the rare of the room. I purchased it from MicrCenter in which I believe they had the wrong price. Got it for $149.00! So, really no complaints from me!! Great sound for $149.00!!

I am very pleased with my purchase of this sound bar. It was very easy to connect to my LG HDTV. The sound is Awesome! It's also great being able to play other Bluetooth enabled devices through this soundboard. I recommend this soundboard to everyone.
