We bought this about four weeks ago. The sound on it is good. My only complaint is that whenever I pause my TV, such as Netflix, the sound bar automatically goes off and has to be turned back on manually when I push play. Also, I have to use the sound bar remote to adjust the volume for my Samsung JS8500 TV as they are not compatible.

I've been on the market for a good all purpose sound bar that wouldn't break the bank. I decided to wait for the Black Friday sales to role out in order to get a good deal. Glad I did. I was tempted to go for a slightly cheaper sound bar from Samsung, but after going into Best Buy, the $50 extra on this sound bar only made sense. The sound was deep, clear and full. There's only one cord to your television and the sub is wireless. Plus there's the ability to steam from your phone via Bluetooth. Great sound bar. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Easy to setup and sounds good as well. I got this free with my LG 65 4k and its a great little soundbar. Its not going to replace a dedicated home theatre setup but for the normal user this would be just fine.

Setup was 10 minutes will optical cable included. Sub syncs automatically. You will need two available outlets for power. We have a 15x20 den where we watch tv and the sound is clean and enjoyable. There is not a great difference in the listening modes but it is easy to manually adjust the ranges from the included remote. I almost went with the $699 bar because it was hard to hear in the store, but common sense kicked in and got a great product at a great price with the LG. It's a Soundbar, not a home theater system but it's perfect for daily and casual use. I also wear hearing aids and it's still a clean sound. Love it!

I was treating myself to some new gadgets for my brithday when someone suggested a soundbar for my TV. I was not familiar with soundbars but the salesperson in the store showed me a few and when we got to the LG Soundbar with the wireless subwoofer, I was sold. I got to try it out right there in the store and once I saw how easy it was to connect to my cell phone I made up my mind. I tried a few of the others but the sound quality and simplicity of the LG soundbar helped me make up my mind. When I got it home it was just as easy to set up and I have been enjoying it ever since. If you're looking for quality sound from your TV, tablet or cell phone you can't go wrong with this one.

i hooked it through my new Sony flat screen. Sound was no better. Instructions were not clear about other ways to hook up with optic cable. Then I saw my cable box had an optic cable connection, omg the sound is fantastic. Bluetooth works great. I can use my cable radio and turn off the tv. For the price, it is great. Hey LG, you need to make clearer instructions for TV other Than LG or alternate methods to hook up optic cables. Your instructions stink.

Too many cords involved. Maybe because I didn't get the remote with it, but when I linked my remote to it, it would make the volume a problem because it would compete with the TV. Sound was good, though.

Since we saved so much on our LG TV purchase, we were able to add this soundbar. Big, clear sound: fills our great room and really adds to the in-home entertainment experience. Optical connection to the DIRECTV Genie was easy.

I read just about everyone's review here prior to my purchase. Would like to take a moment to thank you all for helping me with my decision. The sales Rep in the Hartsdale NY store, was excellent as he demo'ed several LG surround sound bars. In the end, after comparing wattage, features and price, I thought the LAS551H was a great value. After getting it home and setting it up, I was blown away. My wife actually asked me if I could turn it down, and she was in another room. No more cranking up the volume because I can't hear the dialogue amongst characters, and the sub woofer kicks in appropriately with a rumble and thunderous bass. I definitely recommend this unit for those of you reading this who are procrastinating about a sound system....

Very nice sound bar for the money. The sound quality is very good. I love to listen to music on it. Movies also sound great. Highly recommend

I'm a novice where electronics is concerned plus our package had no manuals. But .. found enough online to get the job done. Installation was as simple as connecting the (included) optical cable. It was working! A little more online help from LG's support site let me do some fine-tuning. Very happy with the results. Probably should give it only 4 stars because of the missing manuals but I'm giving it a 5 anyway.

This is my first soundbar and i like it so much. perfect to my room, easy to set up. good quality sound from the speaker.

Sound quality was acceptable, but there are two flaws that have caused me to return this soundbar. First, CEC was a key requirement for me as it would allow my TV to control the soundbar's volume from my TV using HDMI ARC. This turned out to be extremely unreliable for me with my Insignia TV (brand new) — sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Optical setup is possible, but that would now require juggling remotes. Second, the soundbar has a bright blue LCD display on the center front to tell you it's status (volume, mode, etc.). I cannot find a way to dim this display and find it very distracting when it is right underneath my TV during a movie or show.

Purchased this soundbar with my lg 49" 4k smart tv in January 2015.Haven't had any issues from this product and I would recommend this product. The other reviews you see that are negative about the product are probably from people who isn't really tech smart and probably messed up the fiber cable to the unit.

I have an LG TV so this sound bar hooked up to my TV is excellent. I don't have to use the remote that came with it so I won't comment on that because I control the bar wit the e TV remote. The sound is excellent and I very rarely go above 14-15 when watching TV. Very clear and I couldn't be happier with this. Got it on sale as well.

Easy to set up and the sound is Great! Small enough that i could set in front of the tv with out having to mount.

got this with a 70" Vizio 4k tv. I had some issues with the power and volume. the bar would not recognize the volume up or down sometimes. we ended up just running the optical cable from the tv, no biggie. the sound is great and the sub fills a very big living room. much better sound than the tv output.

BUYER BEWARE - I bought this sound bar and product has failed twice now. Sound bar just turns off and becomes non-responsive to remote or manual power button. It's on its way back for the 2nd repair under warranty (product is less than 2 months old#. LG has negative customer policy that requires 3 FAILUES before it is replaced. I was a fan of LG #have LG washer/dryer and large screen TV) but this experience will lead me not to consider LG products in the future.

I purchased this sound bar for my husband for Christmas and he absolutely loves it!!
