Been a hard time finding a "dumb player." I have so many devices that already do the smart things and I don't need anymore. What I needed was a standard player that isn't going to cost and arm and a leg and not fail due to having too many other things the player is trying to do. This unit solved that problem. It's sturdy and have been playing without issue since I bought it. Highly recommended for those that want a simple player without all the bells and whistle, either because you already have it, or you don't need it.

Although DVDs are an outdated media, I needed an affordable Blu-ray player for my tv. This fits the bill.

It is easy to hook up and easy to use; not bells and whistles, but it does the work of playing blu-ray discs.

I did not want a streaming DVD player. I wanted basic with the possibility in the future. And this is it. Easy to use. Simple hook up.

I have a great many work out DVDs. I've used Samsung TVs and DVD players for years because I was familiar with how they worked. The failure rate (e.g., an inability to play more than 12 minutes of a DVD before starting over) has been high. And the Samsungs seemed to last less than a year. I decided to try something else and I am very pleased that I did. This LG seems sturdier, its response is immediate, and it even has an off-on light. Now I am considering an LG TV!
