I guess everybody just streams. That being said you woould think the prices would be less but they're not. This player also has wifi and streaming but only through the preloaded VUDU, Netflix, Amazon, Pandora and one other I am not familiar with. These are the only streaming services available with this device and no way to add any others. The wifi is so so this was a direct replacemnet for an older but exactly the same LG player and it doesn't work as well and freezes when streaming. I would not purchase again.

Started out with a Sony player that did not work well, (skipping, and pausing while playing a dvd) it was most annoying!! No problems with the LG. Very pleased with this purchase

We purchased it for a seasonal rental property so people had the option to utilize blu-ray discs if they'd like. No complaints yet!
