Thought It Was a Good Buy...

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this player to be able to watch Hulu Netflix etc. Tried to watch a movie last night and it pixelated the whole time. Then the unit froze and had to be unplugged for it to reset a couple of times now. For us it has been very slow in opening movies...it’s getting returned!

Didn't Supply Surround Sound

The deal breaker for me and the reason I returned it was that no matter what settings I tried for HDMI audio out, it only supplied stereo to my amplifier. I thought that since my previous Blu-ray player, a Panasonic DMP-60, could decode any audio format on my discs to PCM, up to 96 kHz, and my amplifier handled that well, using those setting on the LG would give the same surround sound results. Well no, all I got was stereo. I tried all the other settings and got the same result. Could the PCM standard have changed that much since 2010 which is how old the other equipment is? Customer Service at LG was not of any help.
