Great Device for Music, Phone Calls, Etc...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG Tone Ultras are a great lightweight headset... After losing many bluetooths in the past due to forgetting them after meeting with clients, I was tired of using the single ear ones. I didn't want to leave them in my ear and be rude to my clients, I hesitated to put them down (for fear of forgetting them), and I didn't want to keep them in my pocket (after breaking one). I was happy when I discovered the LG Tone Ultras, it has great sound quality to where I can listen to my music/watch movies and it was convenient to where I could tuck them under my collar when not in use and I could just pull the ear bud out when I needed to use them. This device is a must have!

Love not having all those cords!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took me a bit to figure these out and to get them to sync to my laptop. Two problems: The directions were so small I had to copy them and increase the size. The other problem: At least in the black, it is almost impossible to read the labels on the buttons. And I don't just think it's because I'm old!!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because I could use more volume. I use these for transcription work so I'm listening to people speaking, and there are times it really needs to be louder.

The Evolution of Bluetooth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been seeing these headset style Bluetooth units all over town. I had lost my previous ear mounted unit and was looking for a new one, but since I had lost two of the smaller in ear models I was reluctant to buy something else that I would just misplace or lose. (The last one was just found in a small change pocket on a washed pair of shorts) The good, Well I usually forget I am wearing it. The main body of the unit rests on your neck and it's so light you forget it's there. The ear buds are attached and have a short cord that is very well thought out. They magnetically mount to the end of the body so when you aren't using them they are not just dangling. The battery is great. I have been leaving it on all day and it will last several days of constant use. I haven't explored the additional features such as apps that work with the text to speech but that is next. Oh and it charges quickly in about a few hours for max charge. I had read that the noise cancelling feature wasn't very useful. Well when I used it while mowing the volume of the mower decreased by at least half. It worked awesome for me. I think it will depend on what type of noise you are trying to cancel out but I never have to wear my ear plugs while mowing again! Negatives? Well honestly I haven't found one yet. It does every thing they advertise it to do. I have been really impressed and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade or finally take the Bluetooth plunge. I have an S3 with a water proof case so sound is muffled without Bluetooth.

Great value for the cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the second wireless Bluetooth headphone I've purchased. These have held up under extreme use while exercising and general use. I'm not the easiest on headphones and I've used these steadily without fail for the past year and a half. The battery life is excellent and very easy to charge!

LG HBS-800 Tone Ultra Bluetooth Headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG HBS-800 was evaluated paired with a Nexus 5 and iTouch 5. The results were mixed. The build quality is FAIR. While the plastic construction lends to low weight which is arguably beneficial when it comes to comfort; it makes the product look and feel cheap. So does the mechanical slide switches for Power and Noise cancelling. The ear-bud magnetic hold-in-place is a great idea but works better as a storage position when not in use. While wearing the device, the ear buds do not reliably stay in place. Noise cancelling feature is minimal at best. Sound is good but hampered by distance. With phone in top pocket, connection is reliable. At a far distance, like pants pocket, there were connection problems including sound breakup. Laying the phone on the cars dash while checking the oil resulted in loss of connection. This is a huge disappointment. Having two devices connected and leaving one device behind results in an ongoing verbal message about the device being out of range. The “work around” found with a google search is once out of range, turn the Tone Ultra off then back on. Using the device in place of my usual Bluetooth device is also a disappointment, while the sound quality i have is very good, the unfortunate person on the other end of the call can barely hear me. This is true on multiple calls and devices. A call to customer support resulted in the promise of a replacement once defect is verified. They said they would send a shipping label by email but after 4 days (including a reminder) I had not received it. I swapped for another one. Call quality somewhat better but not nearly as good as my inexpensive Plantronics unit. Had I paid the regular price of $99 or even close to that, I would have returned the unit immediately. Even with sub-par performance and LG’s less than stellar customer service, I will keep the unit and use it within its limitations. Had I done my homework ahead of time, I would have chosen a competitive product even at a higher price.

Great Headphones, worth the extra ching
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have wanted a pair of bluetooth headphones for 2 yrs. When I gave up the Unlimited Data Plan on my old Razr Maxx with and moved up to the LG- G3, they had a LG Combo deal with these LG HBS-800 Ultras, so I got it. At first, I was skeptical about the cost vs. utility and looking for reasons to return, but the more I tried to find things to hate, the more I found things that I liked. They are great for yard or house work and I can listen for 4+/- hours straight to Slacker without killing the battery. Phone voice and Music sound quality is GREAT. The people I speak to frequently (wife included) tell me that it is easier to hear and understand me with these than the phone by itself and MOST can tell if I have them on- no echo or much less background noise. BEST REASON for me - I noticed a significant decrease in severity of pain related to my chronic right shoulder/arm pain issues now - I guess from not having to hold the phone to my head all day. Very satisfied.

Bluetooth Connectivity Lags
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the most part I'm very satisfied with the LG TONE ULTRA. It has great sound, it's very very comfortable around the neck, easy to turn the switches on/off, comfortable earbuds. Unfortunately, the connectivity to my mobile devices is most of the time very poor, even when I'm carrying them with me I still get the message that it's reconnecting. To me, if this fails then all the other bells and wh I styles that come with the product are useless or worthless. I'm returning them.

Not terrible, a step back from original LG Tone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have 2 pairs of the original (1st gen) LG Tone (not Ultras) and loved them. After two or three years, both had to be replaced. Wires were frayed and they started dropping connection frequently. I decided on these as my replacement and found myself disappointed. The sound quality is about the same, though the size of the ear bud is slightly larger, making the fit a little worse. The battery seems to die out a bit quicker, i'd say an hour or so less play time. Might get 5 hours on a good day. The connection seems much more spotty too. My old Tones had a great connection through 30+ feet, maybe throw in a wall and they'd still be fine. These ones will start breaking up when i move it from one pants pocket to the other. My biggest pet peeve is the new design. The earbud docks(?) where they magnetically hold onto, now have an overhanging piece of plastic. This makes it much more cumbersome to get them on the dock and also to stay there.

Good headphones for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is only okay. I wish there was more base but overall it is good. Major downside is the ear pieces. I can't seem to get any of the adapters to fit my ear properly.

Awesome headphones for the gym or lounging
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these headphones as a replacement for a corded pair that i previously used. The tone ultra fits around the neck well and sound quality is excellent. The noise canceling feature also works well too in a noisy area. I also recommend getting the insignia case that fits these headphones for protection when traveling.

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My second pair my wife has the original one which still work just fine after almost 3 years I borrow them sometimes they make for a good backup headset. You guys are fickle the buttons are to sensitive no they are not why are you wearing them underneath a collared shirt they are meant to rest on the shirt name a photo you where you have seen them worn like that. It impossible to put the buds back in yeah another whiner instructional pay attention with your right hand reach for the left ear bud rotate it until the bud is pointing away from your face when it comes in contact with the collar rotate it slightly until it seats itself. Are these better than my bose or power beats no but against others priced in its range now being 49.99 versus 99 name another 50 buck headset that can top it outside of say skull candy maybe

Solid Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These sound much better than the Tone Pros with the JBL touch added to them. I am not sure I am sold on the noise cancellation or the quality of voice calls, but they are not bad. One of the best pair of Bluetooth ear buds that I have owned. Great battery life. My biggest drawback is the volume setting. You do not have the same precision of volume adjustment on these as you do on the phone. I listen to them a lot at work and want them to be very low so I can hear what is going on around me. You can't do that with these. They are great for cutting the grass and louder environments though. Debating on exchanging them for the Pros.

Overall, a great headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality and battery life are very, very good. The wires that connect the buds to the headset do sometimes slip out of the clips if you're not careful when adjusting them on your neck but this headset is a great value for the price.

Very Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this product on 01/16/2014, at first i was very excited to use this product. when i turned it on i was very disappointed. the volume was very low. Walking outside in the wind and could barely hear anything. I turned on the noise cancellation thinking that would help. BOY was i wrong. It didn't make any different. When i receive a call. the volume is low as well. I have to be in a very quiet environment to be able to hear the music or phone call. The apple headphone puts this LG bluetooth headset to shame because i work at a bar and its very noisy most of the time with the loud music. I could be inside the bar with all the nose around me and use my apple headphone and still hear the music/talking on the phone loud enough without having to cover my ears with my hand to be able to hear a little bit.
