I had my doubts about the long range effectiveness, and I was correct. I am 3 months in to owning this and the Bluetooth connectivity is so bad now I cant even put my phone in my back pocket. I am sending it in for service or replacement because the power switch no longer works. Its a good design and works well when new but slowly declines to a lump of plastic around your neck.

    retractable earphones dual bluetooth connect

I had the HBS-760 and the vibrate was not working and found these when I went to exchange. One of the things I struggled with on the HBS-760 was the free hanging earphones and the difficulty getting them into the magnetic base and locating them by feel while I was driving. I have been really pleased with the HBS-810 retractable earphones. I did get the bestbuy extended warranty as I question the durability of the retraction mechanism over time and high use (but I do love them). The headset can also bluetooth connect to two devices. This has been great as I can blue-tooth to my mac to listen to music and still be connected to my iphone when a call comes in. The passive noise cancellation basically means the earphones act as earplugs. I found they do a very good job for me and cut out the background noise quite well. I find the neck unit comfortable and will easily forget it is there. I have been able to have the earphones in for extended periods very comfortably. I am not using them during physical activity, mainly at the desk and in the car.

    Best Tones So Far

I have purchased almost all of the LG Tones headsets since they were first introduced. Other than the 730s made a few years ago, I've found that most of them have been problematic. I was very skeptical when I purchased these based on experiences with the newest LG Pro (760 series) headphones, but I can say that these are, by far, some of the best headphones made by LG. They have the premium feel of the Tone Infinim, but better sound quality and noise cancellation. They fit securely around my neck, which is larger, and callers are able to hear me clearly. I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking at purchasing this headset.

Within one week of purchase, I have had trouble with one of the speakers. The sound is perfect in one and very minimal in the other. I get constant complaints from callers saying that they can't hear me. A lot of people say that I sound like I'm under water or I sound like a robot. :-(

I loved these LGs when I got them and thought they were the coolest things in the world. Battery life was excellent and the sound quality was very good. The volume does not go up as high as I would like, especially at a loud gym, but I made it work. All of this was great until running when the headsets started vibrating on their own and would not stop no matter what I did. I tried powering on and off, Pressing combination of buttons and even letting the battery drain and recharging. When the charger return they still vibrating. I conducted a quick Internet search and found that this was not an uncommon problem. More frustrating was that there was no known fix. I try contacting LG directly and so far I've not had a response. I will now need to purchase a new care but it will not be an LG.

    Flexibility organized

Best headphones I have ever owned they're flexible and the cables stay organized in the retractable housing which is genius with the rubber neck they won't crack or break and you barely realize they're around your neck from how comfortable they really are the sound quality is great it needs more Bass but an equalizer app helps with that but the music is crystal clear and so are the cause I haven't had a complaint yet the LG app reads your texts for you as you drive which is a great addition.

    Not Impressed

I had the HBS-700 & Tone +HBS-730, the latter of which finally started having problems after over two years (the right earbud expired). Both models have been comfortable, nothing short of reliable and in spite of sometimes bad reviews by others I have never had a call drop or any problems (paired with Apple products, iPhone, Droid, Samsung phone, Moto phone, Kindle Fire, Chromebook, TaoTronics wireless bluetooth transmitter for TV), I worked in them, worked out, sat on the beach, walked in the hot sun, traveled, dropped them, and replacing the earbud tips with premium buds gave me a music experience which others say even 'Beats' can't beat. I have looked at all the new LG models and I don't care for the thicker band and all the control buttons are changed but just as I got used to my first pair I thought I could adjust again. BUT these are soooooooooooooooooo annoying. I cannot stand the retracting earbuds especially since they come out of the ends that are protruding out of a device set down and away from my ears so it feels like suspension cables you see on a suspension bridge. The headset rests upon my neck just fine but there is a bit of a tug and pull turning this thing with me when I turn my head. I have long hair so that wire stretching up to my ear gets in the way whereas the older model, the wire was clamped along the neckband and seemed to rest along the length of my neck and out of the way. That older design did not have the tug and pull with the retractable design since you could set the wire clamp just below your earlobe to then reach up the earbuds. After purchase, I got home, set them up and gave it a couple of days run. All of my electronics are in the same spot just as I have been using my Tone +HBS-730's all along and so I knew how far I could go and where to stand in the backyard while still staying hooked-up to my device but with the newer HBS-810 they disconnect to a certain point across the house and as soon as I walk out the door. With the connection issues, the retractable wire coming out away from my ears then having to stretch them back to put into my ears creating a tug-n-pull discomfort, the discomfort of feeling like I have a couple of utensils from out of the kitchen draped around my neck with the bulky ends - I'm taking them back. I prefer the older design and never imagined newer Bluetooth would fail me but I'm going to look at earlier models that preceded HBS-810 without the retractable buds. LG, you messed up a good thing.
