This DVD driver does the job expected. It can rip a DVD in less 10 minutes, which is good. Only negative side is it's a bit noisy when burning a DVD.

If your laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, this product is amazing. It's a bit loud when it's being used, but overall, it's a nice thing to have.

I purchased a Mac Mini a few months back and needed a CD/DVD-R drive, but didn't want to pay Apple prices. A quick look at a few reviews and I noted that the LG Ultra Slim SP80NB60 ranked pretty high. I purchased the drive at my local BestBuy and shortly thereafter, I was burning CD's. I would have rated the drive 5 stars except for it's tray design. It feels a bit flimsy when inserting a CD. I'm sure that part of this is it's ultra slim design, so an easy "fix" is to support the tray with one hand as you load the CD with the other - Problem solved.

I had assumed that the external drive would be able to PLAY as well read and write. .. Was GRATEFUL that I could return it without hassle. I would recommend it for the STATED purpose.

It does what it suppose to do and everything works really well as long at you have VLC install in your computer then you can see your movies but its great i love it

I originally purchased the Apple Superdrive USB DVD Player to go along with my MacBook Pro Computer… My MacBook Pro only has 2-USB Ports to connect Devices… I needed 4-Ports to connect all my Devices so I purchased a 4-port powered Hub… As a result, I immediately ran into a problem because the Computer did not recognize the Apple Superdrive connected to the Hub, but the LG USB External DVD Drive works flawlessly connected to the Hub, and the quality is excellent!

This is a bare minimum DVD player for iMac. The software that comes with it is for windows, PC. Tray will not open unless you turn off the player. I have to buy additional sotftware.

My Mac laptop doesn't have a cd drive, so i needed to purchase an external and it works great. The usb cord is a little short so it needs to be right next to the computer, but it gets its power that way too. Easy plug and play.

Purchased this drive because the laptop that I purchased did not come with a disc drive. I read reviews on this drive and they seemed good; The store associate also recommended this drive. Have not tried it yet that's why only 4 stars

This drive was very simple to use on my laptop. You do need to be careful how you plug the connecting cord into the external drive not to damage the external drive port.

Bought this unit to replace a two year old Apple SuperDrive that went out. This unit seems reliable so far. The disc tray pops out, which is inconvenient in our modern times, but very handy should the unit malfunction and a disc is stuck in the drive.

Works well but needed driver to connect to Mac. Useful for software that is on DVD or anything that you don't want to keep on external flash storage (maybe that's not much anymore) such as photo editing files.

I love it. Easy to use and compact. I bought it because I didn't have a hard drive on my laptop. Worked like a charm and got stuff done. Very quick and robust.

Very easy to install and became functional immediately. Very light therefore easy to carry when travelling. Solves my missing disc drive problem

This cd drive is really thin and small. It feels like your carrying a cd case, it's feels sturdy. The read and write speeds could be better, but for the price I think it's great. You don't need an external power supply, you only need the usb cable that it comes with. The only bad thing that I can think of is that you may forget that you have it, or misplace it because it's so light. I sometimes feel that I may break it because it gets lost between my documents, and other supplies. In doing so, I don't want to place anything heavy on it, or let something heavy fall on it.

I needed an external DVD drive to install onto a laptop that did not have its own drive. This one did the trick. As a test, I also used the drive to write a DVD, and it worked as intended for this purpose as well. My only complaint is the y-cable I needed to use to plug into two of my laptop's USB ports in order to provide sufficient power to the drive, else it would cycle on and off due to its high current draw. A work around was to plug it into an external powered USB hub that provided sufficient current due to the hub's own power supply

This device worked really well for my needs, I need something I can take with me to work and travel. It's lightweight and small yet did the job really well.

Works but has a lot of issues if you use it often I use it to watch movies and after watching a few it starts making noise and completely stops reading the disc altogether Good Price THO

Along with buying this, I had recently purchased a MacBook Pro so I've had to have some assistance from the Geek Squad to help me get things up and running. Otherwise, it's a great piece of equipment and yes I would buy it again.

I like my fitbit except I wish it had a different clasp. I can't connect it while it is one and I have to connect it and then slide it over my hand. I am not sure it is as tight as it needs to be. Other than this it works great.
