As always technology changes and with that so does the size of laptops. Some programs still require a CD/DVD player. I had been looking at a desktop model that plugs into power just to make sure that everything would work correctly. The Best Buy guy suggested this model and while it didn't look like much I thought I would give it a try. What a great little drive. Not only does it do a fantastic job of running software I managed to make a back up copy of a DVD program that I use. I guess good things do come in small packages.

My new computer did not come with a built-in DVD/CD drive so I wanted something just in case I needed to load things from a CD. This was cheap enough and has worked well for 3 months so far with no issues.

Can't live without a CD/DVD drive. this one is so easy to use, only one USB cable needed!!! Don't need to plug into the wall. Love it.

This drive can feel a bit flimsy at times, but it works just fine for me. I am using it as a replacement for an internal optical drive, as my preferred case did not have room for one. I have had no problems with its functionality so far.

Plugged into my Mac mini and just worked! Same as my windows 8.1 laptop. Used it to burn a slide show to a dvd in under 10 minutes.

The software down loaded as soon as I plugged it into my PC. The operation is seamless and quiet. The player also came with a USB cable.

This TV is a superb value. 4K is still a questionable buy at this time, but a large screen Samsung 1080 with Smart TV functionality paired up with a 7.1 HDMI connected Sony receiver is a NO BRAINER. Viewing and sound is phenomenal.

The laptop I purchased dose not have a disc drive. This item is very simple to use, no set up was required, and it's very easy to store.

many laptops nowadays don't have dvd built in. The LG ultra slim solves that problem. Take it anywhere. Pop in your favorite movie and you are in business

sometimes they want to force you to go on and on about a product. I really don't see the point of a minimum amount of characters. it's a dvd drive. you get what you pay for, and it seems to work good.

Bought to load oldish software onto my new tiny dell xps13 2in1 which I love. DVD drive seems so loud compared to brand new completely silent computer, but probably no louder than any other DVD rom drive.

Loving it. I can play movies on my tv, Apple laptop, burn cd and I can almost everything with it. I highly recommend it.

This is the perfect addition to my netbook! Lightweight, easy to use, portable. Price was excellent, great look and feel. Love it!

They did everything they said great price, worked with little set up and most important it worked and is still working.

Since laptops don't come with CD drives anymore I needed this to install software. It was really reasonably priced and did the job.

This is great if you have a laptop and want to watch DVDs. I recommend going to videolan.org and downloading the VLC software. It is free and does not have viruses.

Glad I purchased the external option with my computer. It is light weight and easy to use. Price was good too, under $40.

A little noisy but good little drive. If you live in a very dusty area you might be best served with another device. Mine has to be continually cleaned.

This laptop is a great size and the screen is very clear. Very nice feeling keyboard. Nice speed and lightweight for taking with you.

Works, no problems. bought it for my new MacBook and configured by itself. A real benefit for dinosaurs. Cost less than expected.
