My boss had purchased a tablet laptop many months ago and to install some of our software, I needed an external cd/dvd drive. Since I was aware of that fact, I purchased this model in conjunction with my own new tablet laptop. I still use CDs and occasional DVDs so this is a necessity for my laptop. It's small enough to carry in my laptop carry case which is a bonus for me. I did not need to use any of the accompanying software, so I did not install it, though I still have it. My cd/dvd drive works fine without it.

My cd/dvd unit in my computer passed on to the great beyond and I was in dire need of a cd burner/dvd maker asap. I went to my local Best Buy and got a good deal on this LG. Very happy. Works with very little setup and is quiet.

Got this primarily to play movie dvds on my Windows 10 ultra-thin laptop. Works great, no problems so far. Will probably use it to burn an occasion al cd or dvd. Also recommended this to a friend for his laptop.

As stated before I like the compact size. Making it easy to carry in my computer bag.I am pleased with this purchase.

I was looking for a camera with an articulating screen, 4K video, a microphone output, and an electronic viewfinder. This camera has it all at a very attractive price. Takes great video as well as clear snapshots.

Nothing too incredibly impressive, but if all you need it to be is dependable and work then it's fine. A little noisy, but for the price it's worth it.

computer is all In one and does have a dvd drive. was advised that that it was very filmsey and might overheat if used a lot. so, for approximately $20 purchased external drive that I can just plug in when needed. great buy!!

This external DVD player works on any computer (including Mac), is very compact, and is an essential accessory for any teacher!

Bought it for travel purposes since my comp does not have a cd drive. Works like a charm . Price was also ok. Not for everyday use.

Needed an external drive for use with a laptop and I have had many LG products in the past. I checked other reviews and found a good deal at Best Buy. I always feel safe purchasing through here. No issues so far.

This compact drive works great with my new computer and allows me to download my programs, and is easy to store and carry with me.

I really appreciate being able to view my CDs on my new Apple computer. Made me very happy to get it at a reasonable price since I was able to view them on my old PC and really missed that feature on my new Apple.

Convenient and easy to hook up, but if you want to play videos/DVD's/Bluray, you may have to download a video player as Windows 8 doesn't have one installed already.

Bought this external DVD player for my wife's laptop and she absolutely loves it. She is not tech savvy but was able to connect, install and use without any assistance and has had no problems since! Great item!

I use this infrequently with my laptop, mostly to rip music, but sometimes to load software. It has functioned well, though it seems a bit insubstantial, like other external DVD/CD drives I've used.

I like the size and portability. My MacBook doesn't have a DVD drive. So I needed an easy work around. Found it here

I do like not having the CD drive in the way so this is nice to have when I have a computer that does not include one. Works well

Perfect compact external disc drive if you're only worried about data discs, CD's & DVD's. Does not do Blu-Rays, but I didn't need that and it wasn't worth double the price to step up to Blu-Ray. Exactly what I expected :)

I am not a fan of having to carry an additional component, but the laptop purchase without a built in drive was hard to refuse. The device is adequate for the few times that I think I will actually require it.
