I was worried I wouldn't be able to burn cds or dvds since laptops these days are coming without the drives. This is great because I can just detach when not needed. Easy to carry/travel and I can watch movies, etc.

Good drive thin but a little flimsey seems to write fast and comes with software so that helps a lot! Computers arent coming with cd burners anymore. Im sure it will be a dinasour soon!

This is a plug and play, easy to use external optical drive. Read/write relatively fast in a 27" iMac, even with an USB 2 connection. Quietly burn DVD-R DL at 4x the speed. Very light and good price.

Easy to us. Worked perfectly with my Mac. Compact....just plug it in and go! Great sales assistance as well. Very happy!

Only thing I didn't like was the additional software downloads then trying to get rid of it. Burns fast and seems durable. Yeah it travelled 30k miles and was dropped a couple times , still works

If you have some some CDS and/ or DVDS you still need to reference on your new disc drive free computer than this is a nice inexpensive option for you.

The drive is very slow at reading discs, but it works. Be sure to not plug it into a USB hub and directly into the USB port. Plugging into the USB hub seems to cause it to loose power.

This is very handy, compare to the old clunky DL burners that wouldn't do +RW single layer formats. Very affordable.

Purchased to play CDS & DVD. Easy to plug in & use. Very lightweight if you are looking for something to take with you.

Very light and easy to use, just connected to the computer and can read information I have in cd, or even watch movies

I wanted a Dell laptop with an internal dvd/cd player but Best Buy did not have one, only HPs which my computer advised against. It works fine but takes up too much space and is a hassle to pack & tote around.

When I first plugged in the dvd player it prompted me to install a program that seemed to cause problems while viewing pictures, so I uninstalled that. The player works fine w/o it.

Bought this since I needed a light and portable drive for times I travel. This drive works great and very lightweight.

I have purchased several of these, and so far all have worked well. These can be used on Windows or Mac machines, and are plug-and-play. These are great for folks who don't have internal DVD dries but occasionally need to access a disc. It would be nice if they felt a little sturdier (plastic = lightweight, but for the price I am very happy and will continue to purchase these.

It let me play movies & software... It is good & fast at a good price to record anything on DVDs or CD..

After my original DVD/CD crashed on my laptop I decided to purchase a peripheral unit instead of trying to replace the laptop unit. Works great. Instuctions could have been a little more clear.

The drive is a great add on for anyone that needs a USB DVD. I have used it to read and write to DVD several time and although it is a little slow on writing it still gets the job done. No coasters

Purchased this for my girlfriend to use with her laptop that does not have a DVD drive. Provides the extra backup capability she wants as well as allows for watching movies and TV shows that she has on DVD.

My hd camera is great ,but records to a SD card. So this makes it a dilema for watching any home movies or vacations on our tv's. I came to the conclusion I need to convert all my recordings to mp4 and burn them to dvd. That's when I bought the LG dvd burner. It has been one of my best investments. I now convert movies to a format that is accepted to burn on my LG burner and in about 30 to 40 minutes I have home movies on dvd. Great investment for future memories.

Great for external storage to free your desktop or laptop and now slow them down. Everyone should backup everything from their computer and store externally. So easy to use and store in a safe or a safe place.
