    I'm not very sophisticated with technology. Bought it to enable adding software to a new laptop. I believe, but don't know for sure that undesired adware was loaded along with the drive software. Which is really annoying.

    After upgrading my laptop my internal DVD drive became incompatible with my laptop. This portable drive was easy to use and required no drivers to be installed to use. Very easy and painless to use right out of the box, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a quality external drive.

    I got this for my girlfriend so she can watch DVDs off her MacBook Air. It plays movies and CDs fine, but we haven't tried burning anything. Not quite sure how. It came with an installation CD, but it seems to just be for Windows. Still, it plays discs, which is what she wanted.
