Does exactly what I want.

So far so good, does exactly what I want it to, which is play movies on my mac. I've only used it twice so far but it works and that is all I care about.

Good for Light use

It works well but appears cheaply made and I would not expect it to last under a lot of use. Of course if I intended to use a DVD drive a lot, I would have purchased a Computer with one.

External CD Drive

I needed a drive for the music projects for which the laptop was purchased. This one works quite nicely and was priced reasonably.

Since that was the main purpose, it is working well. I doubt she will use it to copy anything, but if she does, I will update this review.

I use it on an imac to install rosetta stone and a few other things.
