    Bought this for my dad as his laptop didn't have a disc drive. It just happened to be on sale about a month ago and with a $20 reward cert, I got it for about $5. Haven't heard any complaints yet and he's happy with it.

    I have used my dvd drive for about 2.5 months. I have no issues with it. It works as I would expect it to. I have a slimline laptop so I was forced to get an external drive, but do not really like the external aspect. The usb connector cord is very short making working with your laptop at a table a requirement instead of an option. If you use it while sitting in a chair or on a couch, the short cord makes it too easy to drop or bump the drive. It is also very lightweight and has a flimsy feel to it. Very much plastic, but it performs the job I need it for. I would just recommend using it at a table or somewhere that you have enough surface area to put it next to your laptop. Otherwise you are probably going to have it drop off due to the short usb cord.
