    Purchased this to go along with my new laptop which did not have an internal drive. It was inexpensive and setup up was 1,2,3 Came with some software but have not installed it. Works great for reading and writing.

    This dvd burner is slower than you think it will be, but it works fine. It even rips cds very slowly. Functions fine. The software that comes with it is junk, but you don't need it for the thing to work.

    With so many computers not having a dvd/cd rom type thing, I found this to be a necessary addition to my laptop. It works well, though not as fast as an internal dvd/cd rom. A good value for the money.
