    I purchased this item and was pleased with the idea of having an external device to complement my iPad and MacBook only to find out it was not compatible even after purchasing an adapter. However, it worked for my other laptop.

    This product claimed to be compatible with iMac and software was included. Unfortunately the software is only for windows pc. I spoke with the Best Buy tech and they are aware of the problem and several people have complained.

    I am definitely NOT a techie so this was a great buy for me. The simple plug & play feature made it easy for me to burn my home movies onto a disc. Light weight, easy to use, & gets the job done :-)

    My computer did not come with an internal disk drive so I needed to purchase one to upload CD's, burn CD's, etc. This is the perfect accessory - compact, easy to set up and use, and great price point!

    Was disappointed a DVD player was not available with the laptop we purchased, but the Ultra Slim Portable DVD Writer filled in nicely. Use it, then store it. Anybody can do it, even me.
