I was easy to set up and get things to pull on computer. Having a few problems with a couple of downloads (not being read) but it could have something to do with Windows 10 also, not sure.

Bought this dvd player to play movies on laptop. Included software installed nicely, but the unit won't play dvds. Tech said need to install a diffferent media player since the one included doesn't always work?? Other than that..works good.

This player is noisy and cheaply made. And it wouldn't play or recognize DvD's. I just read reviews of other people having the same problem. I hope best buy will let me return it?

This is a very good option to not having a DVD player on my new PC. I have quite a few DVD movies that I enjoy watching over and over again and this player gives me the capability to watch movies in a clear and colorful presentation. Love it !!

I hate giving bad reviews... However, I bought this over 3 years ago, so the warranty is expired. I got 2 uses out of this thing, and it completely died on me today when I needed it. No power going to it - nothing. I've replaced the USB chord. That wasn't it. I looked at their website and apparently this product has low ratings for very similar problems. $40 and this thing only worked 2x. I kept it stored in a good place where it would stay safe and sound. Didn't matter. Money down the drain.

Needed an external DVD/CD player. This one meets my needs with a simple plug into my USB port. Due to its very slim profile it is sometimes challenging to find and press the button to open it. But for the price and size I can live with that!

Worked flawlessly from the get go , it does what it is suppose to do and that is hold all of my files for storage . I can't say if it runs programs from it well or not , never have tried .

Works good so far but surprisingly flimsy and cheaply made , could very easily break because it is very very thin plastic , the housing could have been made better at least sturdier construction for longevity , I do not recommend it

The unit feels very flimsy and appears cheaply made. One time, a loose disk was trapped inside, and required some maneuvering to get it out.

I'm a professional Race Photographer. I do about 3000 images a weekend so I needed a hard drive to hold my images. I have a 1 terabyte but it is about full so I decided to go bigger this time with the higher resolution camera I needed more space.

Thankfully I purchased Geek Squad service. My computer crashed in less than one month of use. I probably should have returned it to the store, but was in the process of moving cross country. Not worth the high pricetag.

Bought an inexpensive laptop without an optic drive and this filled a void and works very seamlessly with the computer, the box mentioned duel layer support but have yet to actually burn a duel layer disc without a failure.

I bought this external reader/writer for my daughters Chromebook, unfortunately it was not compatible (chromebook memory too small); howerver it runs seamlessly with my laptop.

Bought the product after some research. Easy out of package installation. Plug and use. No need to install driver with CD lthough the package did come with a CD, which is sort of interesting considering the product itself....

Looked online for this to find locally, it was advertised for a few dollars cheaper at W-mart so I went to Best Buy first, the sales associate looked it up on his smartphone and matched the price for me. Drive works great, no problems.

I'm not nuts about having an external DVD but this one is quick and easy and working so far. Haven't really put it through much use yet but hope to remain happy with it.

I found the instructions to not be easy to understand. However the product itself was fine in operation so the problem with the instructions may have been my lack of previous experience in hooking up an external DVD.

I acquired this DCD/CD player, as the solid state laptop I purchased doesn't have a disk drive. The drive worked fine, plus the software to play DVD's was essential. Surprisingly, Windows 10 fails to provide a DVD player.

This is just a cheap little DVD drive, but it does what it is supposed to quickly and quietly. It is immediately recognized by Windows and it has good transfer speeds for ata or playing DVDs on a machine without an internal drive.

My new computer didn't come with a dvd drive so I need this to be able to install software and to watch movies. It is very slim and lightweight. I'm not sure if it will last well since it feels so light. We'll have to wait and see.
