My new laptop doesn't have a CD player and I need that option occasionally. The salesperson showed me several but this one was reasonably priced and it works great. Very easy to setup and operate. A no brainer!

New computer had no cd rom so this external one was just what was needed. Only thing is the usb cord is way too short for you to place it anywhere but near the port intake. It's maybe 12-18 inches.

I love listening to audiobooks as I drive, but many new cars don't have CD players, so I'm using this LG DVD external drive and my HP Envy laptop to transfer my audiobooks to a USB thumb drive to play in my car.

This portable drive is a bit flimsy, but it works well enough. Nice to have it as an added and portable drive. For the less price, it does the job.

Thid is sn essential tool for new generation laptops that do not have an integrated DVD/CD Drive. So many software still vome on CD. The driver does not seem very sturdy, but gets the job done.

Bought the DVD drive for my HP Envy 360 for school. Had some connection issues at first and wouldn't play DVDs, I eventually figured out that I had to change some settings on my computer.

Really only used it to play dvd's. Have not tried to burn anything yet. Only problem was trying to install on mac. But that is probably my own fault because of being a novice on the system.

This is a good player for any PC. However, most PCs have gone completely digital. So what do you do when BestBuy hands you a disk get this player. It works well but bring on the 4K please.

So far the device has worked very well. The only disappointment was that it did not include DVD software, something that has been eliminated in Windows 10, so I had to get something new.

This product woirks really well. My new Surface Pro 4 doesn't have a burner built-in, so I bought this one. Easy to use and install. It's basically "plug & play". Just what I needed.

Since laptops no longer come with the DVD drive, it is necessary to purchase on extra and this one is just exactly what was needed to go with the laptop I just purchased. Very, very pleased with it.

We bought this because most laptops no longer have built-in DVD drives. I don't like that. But since that is the way it is we purchased this external drive and it works fine. It is just a nuisance.

I know buying a smaller laptop took away the convenience of having my CD/DWR inside the computer but I don't use it every day so it was worth having it external to save some of the weight and size.

The associate referred this product to me as a cheap alternative to a DVD player for my smart tv.

This external cd drive works perfectly for the installation of software programs without having to purchase a laptop with the drive built in.

When the installed drive on our desktop kept ruining CDs as we tried to burn them, we knew it was shot. This external drive was well worth the price, makes excellent CDs, and is pretty easy to use.

Bought this to go with MacBook that doesn't have DVD drive. Don't need one that often, but nice to be able to burn DVDs when needed. Kids also like to use it watch DVDs on the laptop when traveling.

We purchased a "all in one Asus PC" but it did not come with a DVD writer. It was recommended as a good mid range dvd writer. Easy to hook up to a USB port and you're in business ready to good.
