I needed to get a DVD drive for the laptop I just purchased. Best Buy had this at a really good price. It does what it needs to do. But it is nothing special.

I didn't think I would ever need another Disk drive for my computer, but this is very convenient to do quick windows installs and troubleshooting pc for viruses for customers.

Now that computers and laptops are starting to not have CD-ROMs, this is an inexpensive one to have. USB powered so no extra plug to carry with you when you have to travel.

Like the product. Hinge is really tight now, but I am worried about it getting too loose in the future and flopping around. But overall so far I really like it.

I bought this portable disc drive for my daughter since her computer has no disc drive and I have no complaints it works with no issues. I give this 5 stars without a doubt.

I use this to watch DVDs on my computer, since the computers do not have disc drives anymore. Thus far, I like it. I like the overall cost of the product as well.

Purchased this for my daughter as an add on to a 2 in 1 laptop that I had given her for her birthday so she could load on DVD software and copy pictures to DVDs.

With the advancement of PCS, the internal CD drive is becoming more and more obsolete. This external version is lightweight and durable enough to compensate.

We just purchased new laptops and they do not come with a disc player anymore. This little player was perfect for throwing in our laptop bag so we have that option now.

Plug n' play on my Mac Mini Yosemite. The tray feels so flimsy though I'm concerned it will break just trying to put/get the media disk... but so far so good.

Many machines are now coming without a CD/DVD drive but that isn't a problem. This external CD/DVD works like a charm when you need it and can be stored when you don't.

My son has many DVD's that he watches on his computer, it however doesn't have a a CD ROM. This permits him to watch movies while also taking little space.

The reason we finally made the purchase was because you took the time to LISTEN to our needs and explain the different products that were available. Thanks for the help.

I love the macbook pro, however i do not like that after owning it for less than 1 year, it began overheating and shutting down. Cleaned the fans and made sure fans were functioning, and still a problem. Diagnostics say no problems, however, when loading it states the operating system is corrupted. Having another operating system loaded now. Based on owning this product for less than a year and already having a problem, i would not recommend this product to a friend.

This external Cd drive works when it want to I would not recommend this item. You have to download to many external drives for this item to function

Highly recommend this portable DVD drive. Most of today's laptops don't include dvd drives unfortunately software companies still like using DVD to install information

Neither my laptop and my Mac Mini have a DVD drive, so I needed something to both read and write on both. I didn't want to have to buy two devices and was concerned with both reviews and what I was advised in store about this working on both devices. The box states it will work on both a Mac and a PC, so I was very happy that I went ahead and bought it against the recommendation of the store employees as it both was able to read and write on my MAC Mini and on my laptop (PC). It did everything I needed while being compact and easy to move between the two devices. Saved at least $80 on having to buy two separate devices!

From my limited use of this product it works fine with the IMac. The drive is only a fraction of the cost of the Apple external drive and seems to do the same things.
