The product works well with Mac and is plug and play, but the program that comes with it does not work with a Mac.

A great addition for when software isn't available for download and it extends the laptop functionality by providing a way to listen to my CD collection and view DVDs

This item completes my Laptop, which doesn't have a DVD-RW. It help me to install software, right files or create DVDs. It works great with all laptops. Recommended.

I purchased a new computer that did not have a DVD drive. On occasion I like to watch a movie on my computer, so I purchased this product thinking that it would also play DVD movies. The sales clerk assured me that it would. Other things like writing to the DVD and loading programs from cd, it does well, but just not play the movie. Apparently it does not automatically have the player, and does not work with windows player. Disappointed in the lack of this feature.

I had to buy this to replace my hardly-used earlier version of this device, which stopped worked for no reason. Hopefully, this one continues to work.

It's thin but heavy. Charging life is not long. Not a good idea to buy it

I was a little unsure of which hard drive to get but after reading the reviews I am so glad I went with this item. The best part is that the write speed is fast.

This works much better than I had expected and without another power supply. Gets all power from USB. Fast enough to watch a movie and decent data transfer rate.

It's a reliable machine to work with. And if an engine has soul, this got a better one. I'm glad I made good decision to buy this equipment for my job.

Works good as an external devices. Would rather have an internal CD/DVD drive because I use CDs and DVDs all the time. I don't care about the "cloud"

I have a Mac I find it a lil hard to use an times it says it's compatible but only to a certain degree. I think anyway. If you have a Mac buy apple extras.

The product does not play dvd's, but it is an adequate way to access cd's and upload data from cd's onto my all-in-one computer with no built-in drive.

We used the DVD player to watch CD's and DVD's while on vacation in Europe during August. Glad we had it, since there were no English movies to watch, at night.

It's kool but it makes to much noise my other one I got and just found don't make as much noise and its older

overall, it works well, but it is very light and I needed to put something on it so it didn't slide around from the vibrations and the stiff cord.

My son needed an external drive for his laptop. He could not be happier then he was when I picked this drive up at Best Buy. Thank you best buy!

Would have liked card games included. Microsoft Office 10 it is difficult to find save. Cannot find way to disable touchpad since I prefer a mouse.

Worked well on my PC and MacBook Pro laptops. Justified not buying laptops with optical drives. The Best Buy salesperson made me confident of this purchase.

This is a great addition to my new HP Spectre. I love the slim profile of the Spectre but needed something for reading and burning CDs. This does the trick.

I've had my MacBook for 2 years and just recently needed to buy this drive because my MacBook has no DVD drive. I've used it and am happy with it.
