    I bought it with the intention of having a cheap dvd player to attach to a guest room tv. The package says it works with some brands of tv, and I tried to use it with Samsung, Sony, Insignia, Visio and LG tvs and none of them worked. It did work fine for my laptop, but I returned it as I didn't need an external drive.
