Purchased a dozen of these for new laptops at work that do not have optical drives. These are simple and easy to use with a single USB connection. I haven't tried to burn a disk but Windows 7 recognized it properly and I was able to read without any issues.

this external dvd is easy to set up and use! Just follow the easy directions and you are ready to use. Also easy to carry. It's slim and lightweight. will fit in most any brief case.

Simple install and ready to use. Compatible with all my software on Windows 7. Slim design is a plus in my small work space so I love that is is small and easy to travel with.

Just purchased this product b cuz my drive broke on my laptop I do multiple work with a drive on a daily base so I decided not to replace my laptops drive but to buy a external drive I just hooked it up and already using it works better than the original do recommend it to everyone

It's small, reliable, and works. I've only used it once to get word perfect on my new work laptop that didnt have a disk drive. Never thought id buy a laptop without a disk drive, but it really isnt something you use alot.. so the lighter weight really allows the designer of the computer more room to plan a better device. I prefer no disk drive laptops now. and for 30-40 bucks you're not breaking the bank if you NEED to download a disk only program to your computer. Most things are digital download now anyways..

I got this because of the price. I use it on a Mac. The disc that comes with the product is for Windows. If you are using a Mac just hook it up and put in CD and it will start working. I've never used an external drive like this before so I took at little adjusting for me to get used to putting in the disc and such. It is noisy when it is running but I figure that I way know it's working. I've had an issue with one music CD but it didn't do anything to the CD. Has served my needs perfectly.

I own an iMac. Absolutely love the computer, but couldn't justify the insane price it would cost me to replace the failed superdrive. I decided to give this external LG drive a chance and I am glad I did. Works exactly as described, easy to install, compact design and what a value! Two thumbs up!

Still works well after six years. A little noisy if not using headphones. Overall a great DVD drive for laptops.

I have read so many reviews and ratings of various models before purchasing this item. I'm totally satisfied with the functioning of it. We can carry it anywhere very easily and plug it to laptop.

I was most impressed with the fact that this drive didn't need an external power supply. It works perfect for Windows tablets that only have 1 USB input. The drive was also quite and performed well.

Purchased for Macbook Air and it seems to be working fine so far. I like that it is slim and light weight making it very portable.

This drive works great. It's mostly quite (the best you could ask for from an external drive in this price bracket) and doesn't ever shutter in my use of it so far. I must say I was a little confused by the name at first, as it doesn't imply that the drive can actually play DVDs, but it certainly can (this can be confirmed by reading the specs and seeing that read operations are supported). The included software will try to make you buy some further special software for watching DVDs, but I would recommend VLC instead, as VLC is free and very good. Very satisfied with this purchase.

This worked like I wished everything did. I unpacked it, plugged it in, inserted the DVD. Done! Also, nice job with the minimal and relatively eco-friendly packaging!

I purchased this drive several months ago since my new laptop did not have a built in drive. I've used it numerous times without fail. Excellent product for the price.

Bought for my daughter's laptop for college as it did not have one built in. She loves it. It works so well through the USB she doesn't even miss the built in one.

is not better than samsung, but is OK; can read and use cd, dvd, easy to keep to anywhere, and ligth

Having problems here or there. Have to open it and close it a lot and retry over and over or it glitches. Doesn't like Sims expansion packs at all. Makes no progress. Thinking of returning and trying to find another one. The design is neat and portable so it would suck to have to take it back.
