My MacAir comes without a CD/DVD drive, so I needed an external drive. My usual customer rep who takes her time with me was not working that day which means the girl I got spent about fifty seconds showing me the one I needed. Fortunately, it turned out okay. It is small enough to pack in the sleeve with my laptop and adds no extra extra weight.

The software disc that came w this product did not work, even after I installed it and did the upgrade. I downloaded free video software VLAN from download.com and now it will play DVDs. The device is lightweight and feels sort of cheap, but there are not many choices out there for external DVD players. And some things, like my exercise DVDs are not available as downloads, so I need an external player.

I took a chance on this and used a computer that did not fit with in the required specifications, worked like a charm. Very impressed

This is a very small cd/dvd external drive for a computer. Have not used it yet, but it seems decent.

a little longer installation than expected but that may be due to it deleting and re-installing cyberlink software. Still would not run with software / driver it came with . Contacted LG support and they are aware of operating problems on Win 10. Support instructed me to install the free software from videolan: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html Worked fine after that.

The Apple laptop purchased did not come with DVD drive. Store associated helped with purchase. It gets the job done.

Works fast and quiet. Made of high quality materials and includes a micro usb cable. The cable could be longer though.

We bought this because our two new laptops didn't come with internal cd/DVD drives. Does the job just fine.

Since most new laptops no longer cone with CD/DVD drives, this inexpensive option is a great choice. Lightweight USB 3 compatible burner has saved me from losing files more than once. Highly recommend over pricier models

We had problems with the software, so we are using a different software. Works great.

Just plug in the USB, and watch a movie...very easy to use! This is a great addition to my lightweight laptop without a drive, and the drive itself is very low profile/lightweight so it travels easily. The drive quality has been great, and it plays movies flawlessly.

Got this to enable transfer of previously purchased programs on CD to an HP laptop. Altho the CDs were recognized by the laptop, I had to use file explorer in Windows 10 to actually find and actuate the installation programs. Ok product but it might be worth it to spend a bit more.

Small size- good for my not-to-big desk, work fine (5 days since I bought it)

I got a brand new laptop before my first semester of college, and I decided to sacrifice a disc drive so I could have something more portable (and it's hard to find a nice computer with a built-in disc drive anyways). Once I saw this disc drive, I was pretty happy to have found a cheap disc drive that I could use to put all my CDs into my music library. While it does work very well for most CDs, , it has A LOT of trouble with error correction (something that should be a common feature with disc drives that are meant to read/burn CDs). Putting a CD with a few small scratches into my iTunes library either takes 30+ minutes, or it doesn't work at all. Very annoying for something that I only expect a small amount of function out of. I haven't attempted to burn or watch DVDs with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it failed to work for those. Overall, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised since this is such a cheap drive, and I got it on sale too. Will definitely look for higher quality in the future.

Works great on desktop, did not work well with my Surface Pro 3. USB power on it was not enough to fully power the DVD drive. Even with the Surface Pro plugged into wall power. The solution was to copy the contents of the DVD to a micro SD card then insert that card into the Surface Pro 3, problem solved. MS Office is now installed on my Pro 3.

Worked fine out of the box for installations, didn't try CD or DVD

So far I have only used it to load software on a Mac Book Pro, it works great for that. I have not used it to watch a DVD or burn anything yet, but the other reviews say it works great. INFO-On a Mac you have to use the eject button on screen not the button on the DVD player.

Just hooked it up and it worked fine, no software needed.
