Customers are saying

Customers recognize the UltraGear 27" IPS LED QHD monitor's exceptional picture quality, high refresh rate, and vibrant colors as significant strengths. Many appreciate its value for the price and the effective performance of its G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility. However, some users point to the HDR's dimness and the monitor stand's design as potential drawbacks. A few also mentioned issues with IPS glow, though this is often considered inherent to IPS panel technology.

Really nice picture quality and sleek frame design. I guess if anything i wish the stand was round bottomed instead of a V shape, but it is vesa mountable so not a big deal.

After months of research and gathering knowledge and expertise in the monitor industry, this was my first bought monitor for gaming. The monitor is excellent, the build quality is top notch, and LG doesn't fail to deliver a great product. I think I "won" the monitor lottery as they say, because the IPS Glow (And BLB Back-light-bleed) was almost non-existent. There is a small amount but that is unavoidable and expected for an IPS panel. The quality of the picture is vivid and the settings are bountiful. There's hardly a better monitor for the price range that can compete with the quality of the 27GN850-B.

This monitor is amazing! I was searching for a "lower" resolution monitor and found this 2560 x 1440 monitor by chance on youtube reviews. The monitor is super crisp and the refresh rate makes everything smooth. I hate wide and ultra wide monitors and hate dual monitors, but this is wide enough where I can have multiple side by side apps and a really good view without the need for another monitor. I've been coding, writing and doing other general work. Gaming is amazing as well even though I'm not much of a gamer.

I bought this monitor after looking for a long while at other ones. The competition was always sold out due to covid halting productions/influencing people to buy a new monitor since they’re stuck at home. This one was a great addition to my pc gaming setup at home. The smoothness of the visuals are sleek; however trying to turn on HDR is rather confusion at the moment. Also if you own a PS4 you might notice some ghosting due to the 60hz output from the console. I forgot exactly what I did but I just used a different user setting on the monitor to minimize the ghosting effects!

Response times are as advertised when used at the fastest setting. This does lead to mild image ghosting. Monitor can receive 4K@60Hz input, for those interested - though it's not really optimal to bother with. As far as 1440P 144Hz gaming, it is amazing. Out of box color calibration was near perfect, and can be adjusted. Windows HDR is awful, but HDR functions well on consoles with this display. Color range is solid, very minimal backlight bleed as we all know is a factor with IPS displays. Black levels are also a victim of IPS, but LG has a lower blacks setting as needed, as well as a black stabilization feature. If you're looking for a top of the line 1440P display, and don't care about the newer 240Hz+ displays, this is a top pick. Just know that it is now last generations model, as the update launched in May 2021. One star down for not having swivel, and a poor downward tilt for $449 at time of purchase.

Price for value ratio is really good for this product. I was about to spend the extra for the 4K, but right now it seems 1440 is the sweet spot for gaming until 4K high refresh monitors come down in price. Screen tearing I had on my old BenQ high refresh 1080p monitor is gone with this. The resolution bump from the 1080 is extremely noticeable. One minor gripe I have about the product is the range of height adjustment is a bit limited.

At the mid $400's, I could find not other 27" 1440P ISP with Gsync. When I got to run the display, the color and depth blew me away. AWESOME VALUE!

Very nice 1440p monitor. IPS Display. HDR is worthless as there is no local dimming nor does it get bright enough so if your looking for HDR look elsewhere. But for 1440p high refresh G-Sync monitor this is great for the price.

Excellent monitor. Great color out of the box, easy setup. Works as advertised. One personal issue - I didn't use the included stand, and instead have a desk mount. My older monitor had the inputs facing down, this one has them facing out and towards the wall, which means I had to pull it slightly more forward. Not a big deal for me, but if you are flush mounting this to a wall, it may be an issue.

Phenomenal monitor! I've been using the same 60Hz monitor for about 6 years and finally upgraded to the LG27GN850 so I can do some gaming at 1440P @ 144Hz. After some tweaking & calibration the picture quality is excellent. Pictures, videos, web surfing & gaming never looked so good. Gaming at 1440P @ 144Hz looks fantastic and buttery smooth. The only cons I have w/ it is that the stand is a bit big. From the front tips of the stand to the back is pretty deep. Also the cable hook built into the stand is pretty much useless. They should have at least put holes on both sides of the stand so the cables could be routed through. And last but not least is the monitor inputs and power come straight out the back rather than straight down from the bottom which IMO looks so much better and allows for better cable management. All in all, I highly recommend this monitor at this price point, you will not be disappointed.

I love this monitor, let's just get that out of the way. I miss my curved monitor but I can deal without a curve to get the experience that this monitor delivers. Right out of the box, I had no issues, no dead pixels, minimal bleed and assembly was easy. I love the stand, it's height adjustable and requires minimal force to adjust, it tilts forward and backward, it also rotates so you can turn the monitor to rest in a portrait position. It's Vesa compatible, 100 x 100 I believe. The menu is pretty easy to navigate and the menu joystick isn't irritating to use. But the meat and potatoes of this monitor are the nano IPS panel, G-sync goodness, 2k eye candy and 144 glorious frames per second. Seriously, without even calibrating the color, this monitor blew me away. After I calibrated it, oh boy. The colors are very vibrant and rich, I notice a wider range of colors (at least to me anyway) and it's a much more vivid picture than any monitor I've previously owned. This is also my first HDR gaming monitor and man, oh man, I've been missing out. Games that support HDR look amazing. Take a game like Far Cry New Dawn, a game that already looks stunning and make it even more mesmerizing by giving you depth of color I haven't seen before. I spend more time looking around in game because it's like it's a completely new experience. It pairs fantastically with a 3070 and by far is the most justifiable expense in a build. Why put together a pc to play games if it won't look good.

There is almost nothing bad to say about this monitor. It is sharp, bright, and plays games extremely well. I also bought an Acer Nitro 4K 144hz gsync monitor ($800), and I honestly can barely tell a difference visually. The Acer went back and the LG stays. The LG monitors are the real deal. You won’t be disappointed. Seriously, the only criticism I can think of is maybe the stand could go a little lower? Not a big deal, but I thought I’d throw it in there.

This monitor is easily one of the best, if not the best, 1440p monitors out there currently on the market. Out of the box, it had no backlight bleed, and zero ips glow, it was really impressive. Playing games on it was so much fun, and everything was just beautiful to look at. The reason I returned it, was due to its lack of response rate. Personally, I was working to get more into competitive gaming, and while this monitor does run at 144hz, in the competitive world, you need a minimum of 240hz. That isn’t a complaint, just a personal preference. This monitor excelled in its category and what it advertised. Playing rpg’s, mmo’s and even coop games on this thing was such fun. Everything looked so much clearer, and sharper. If you’re looking for a reliable, and consistent, 1440p gaming monitor, I highly recommend you this one. However, if what you’re looking for is something more for competitive gaming, I recommend you the asus vg279qmy, if that screen is too large and you want less eye travel, I’d opt for its tried and true 25inch option. Be sure to pixel test your new monitor for dead pixels!

I currently have a oled b7 and a Sony x900h for the Ps5 and Xbox series x. This monitor hands down is the best purchase I have done in years. 1440p with 120hz takes the gaming experience to another level. Sure the oled colors are hands done better but gaming with 1mms is amazing. I order for 1440p and 120 to work you need to turn off adpa sync mode. After that you are good to go. Best monitor out for the price ($399). Colors, 1mms, 1440p, nano tech. It just works great. Ohh you can also do 4K and 60hz
