Man, truth be told I have always been the person to research everything before I buy it. Thats just how i am, especially when it comes to dropping 1000 on a monitor. But i can say truthfully that this monitor is incredible. Yes its not as bright as an IPS or LED monitor, but thats because its OLED. With that, you get clarity, color, and just straight beauty. This monitor hits all the boxes i need, high refresh rate, amazing picture, and HDR.

Excellent Monitor with High Potential

This is a high end premium monitor at a premium price. Being able to choose immaculate image quality at 4K or immense speed of 480hz at 1080p was fantastic for the different use-cases I had.
I found the colors quite vibrant and enjoyable for a WOLED monitor and it seemed to produce fantastic HDR colors when that was enabled.
Unfortunately I believe it was a bit too janky in the implementation of this monitor with DP1.4a. I found that switching between modes and having the delays associated with DSC was not worth the unique features of this monitor. I believe this monitor is a great start though and could be a highly desired choice in the future with proper DP2.1a support along with graphics cards that can accept it.
I also hope for more options as I would much prefer a 27" variant as 1080p at 32in was difficult to become accustomed to. I found myself avoiding the 1080p mode due to that blurriness found at 1080p. The monitor does support a 27in mode where it blacks out portions of the screen to simulate a 27in monitor but it does not alleviate the issue in the slightest.
I do have high hopes for a variant in the distant future with 5k/240 & 2k/480 as that would be the absolute best resolutions for clarity at 32in.
There does currently exist a 4k 240hz / 2k 480hz with DP2.1 in China so hoping it is feasible through LG in the near future.

Oled is quite amazing, honestly you really have to experience to really understand what youre missing out on. As far into the future as I can see, I will only be buying oled monitors/tvs as long as my budget will allow me to. This monitor was a joy to use and I really did feel a bit of pain when I decided to return it. The problem with it is the price. All competing qd-oled monitors are cheaper and in my opionion provide a more pleasant looking image (this monitor still blows any LCD out of the water though). I did notice this monitor does look a bit washed out with high hdr brightness and dark scenes did lose more detail than I would hope. This does have excellent text clarity and didnt notice any issues like I have with a 1440p qd-oled but that could just be down to the vastly higher pixel density on this display. Matte coating on the screen is fine, I do prefer glossy but this is accetable and may be preferred if you would be using this is a bright room. The 480hz mode is not very usable in my opinion. I may just not be as competitive player as I use to be but I didnt find myself switching over to it very much. I tried it in Overwatch and just couldnt get over the pixelated look of everything. It definitely looks very smooth and almost life like but honestly the jump from 240 to 480 on an oled doesnt provide the level of improvement to warrant the massive drop in resolution imo. I personally would wait for the 480hz 1440p LG woled monitor thats suppose to release within the next couple of months if youre really interested in the best motion fluidity and which should be sold at a cheaper price. If this monitor was a $1000 I feel like it might just be a no brainer for people looking for a monitor that can kinda just do it all. I do feel like a $1000 4k qd-oled might be a bit nicer for people only looking to use it in 4k 240hz mode but I have yet to use one of those.

WOW! What an upgrade from my previous VA panel. Glad I pulled the trigger on this purchase. Definitely worth it and highly recommended it if you’re looking for an upgrade or entry into OLED. Speakers are surprisingly great for integrated speakers and don’t need PC speakers at the moment. The colors are great but you can always calibrate to your liking of-course. Also to mention the elephant in the room, the matte finish on the panel itself isn’t irritating to me as it may for those who prefer the glossy finish. I own an LG C1 65” OLED and yes the glossy is perfect but that’s a tv and makes more sense to me personally to have it be glossy. For gaming monitor the matte finish is perfect for my taste, coming from a matte VA panel. Try it at least and judge for yourself!

The LG UltraGear 32" OLED Dual Mode monitor is an absolute game-changer. Whether you're a competitive gamer or a visual enthusiast, this display delivers on every front. The 4K UHD resolution at 240Hz offers stunning clarity and smooth motion, perfect for immersive single-player experiences. But the real standout feature is the FHD 480Hz mode—ideal for fast-paced esports titles where every millisecond counts.
Colors are vibrant and rich thanks to OLED technology, and the ultra-fast 0.03ms response time ensures ghosting is nonexistent. G-SYNC compatibility and FreeSync Premium Pro support provide a tear-free, buttery-smooth experience across both NVIDIA and AMD systems.
Build quality is premium, with a sleek black finish and intuitive controls. The ability to switch between ultra-high refresh rate and 4K resolution is a brilliant innovation that adapts to any gaming scenario.
Highly recommend this monitor if you want the best of both worlds—performance and picture quality.

Initial Inquiry & Decision:
Looking for a top-tier gaming monitor that offers both ultra-high resolution for rich storytelling and super-fast refresh rates for competitive play, the LG UltraGear OLED with its dual-mode 4K UHD at 240Hz or Full HD at 480Hz caught my eye for its versatility and performance.
Unboxing, Build Quality, & Testing:
The monitor delivers an incredibly fast 0.03ms response time, virtually eliminating motion blur and ghosting during intense gaming moments. It comes NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certified, ensuring smoother gameplay with less screen tearing and stutter across a wide range of GPUs. Brightness levels with Micro Lens Array+ technology reach 275 nits, coupled with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and a stellar 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, producing vivid colors and deep blacks that bring games to life. The nearly borderless design with height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments adds ergonomic flexibility to fit any setup. Audio is innovatively delivered directly from the screen with Pixel Sound tech, providing rich, immersive sound that complements the visuals perfectly. Anti-glare coating and low reflection help keep distractions away even in bright rooms. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports support high bandwidth for consistent 240Hz at 4K performance.
Overall Impressions and Recommendation:
The LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor offers incredible versatility with its dual refresh rate modes, superb picture quality, smooth gameplay, and immersive audio. Backed by a 2-year warranty, it’s a fantastic choice for gamers who want both cinematic experiences and winning-edge competitive performance. Highly recommended for serious gaming setups.

Amazing Visuals, but Dual Mode Has Issues

I’ve been using the LG UltraGear 32" OLED Dual Mode gaming monitor for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s been an incredible experience. The picture quality is stunning — deep blacks, vibrant colors, and the OLED panel really makes games pop. Whether I’m running in 4K at 240Hz or switching to FHD at a blistering 480Hz, the smoothness and clarity are on another level. It’s also great that it’s both NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Pro — no screen tearing whatsoever.
However, I have to knock off a star because there’s a noticeable issue with Dual Mode. Occasionally, switching between the two modes can cause my PC to crash or freeze, which is frustrating — especially in the middle of a game. Hopefully this can be fixed with a firmware or driver update in the future.
Despite that, it’s still one of the best gaming monitors I’ve used, and I’d recommend it for serious gamers who want top-tier performance and visuals — just be cautious with Dual Mode for now.

Overall, I loved this monitor. The picture is lush, the blacks are deep and the refresh rate makes gaming feel snappier than ever. In addition the Pixel Sound is honestly very underrated, and well suited for general use even as a television. However, for me, there were one or two minor snags which have more to do with my need for it to function as a TV as well. When it comes to brightness I just haven’t met a PC monitor that rises to the occasion like even a budget OLED TV can. This results in washed out highlights- especially in console gaming, which requires more image tweaking than the monitor allows for.

Although it is pricey, if you can get a good deal on it I would definitely recommend it. Don’t worry about the matte finish complainers. When you see this thing in person you’ll be amazed. Yeh maybe the glossy finish of course will be more crisp but honestly coming from someone who’s tried out the AW3225qf and the LG C3 42in, it’s not drastically so different. It still pops and looks sharp and incredible. Honestly I can’t tell the different. Maybe if I had them side by side maybe but otherwise, using this monitor on day to day for games and productivity-I do not miss having a QC-oled glossy. However one thing I would say is that its price does need to be under $1000 or at least under $1100 for me to say YES BUY IT. $1400 is just greedy status at that point. I mean yeah the dual mode and I guess maybe they’re marketing it at that segment who wants that I guess. But if they really wanna sell a ton of these put this baby down to below 1100 $1050 the sweet spot and you got a banger. In some ways it’s better than the QD-oleds especially if your setup you’re light controlled. I like the window being behind my desk and that would probably destroy my experience with the glare but on this bad boy just with a little curtain I have no issues with the bright window behind me (directly in front of the screen)
-Dual mode works flawless
-very low input lag
-deep deep oled black
-very nice speakers (I sold me old pc speakers don’t need them anymore with the sound from this bad boy-if I want more immersive sound just pop on my headphones)
All in all if money is no object yes get it otherwise, wait for it to go down prob around under 1100 it’s a no brainer. Otherwise stick to your AW3423DWF (I’m prob going back to-just can’t see myself spending $1500 on monitor yet)

Purchased this monitor as an upgrade from my 27 in. 1440p MSI monitor that was 5 years old, and I've been blown away! Nothing comes close to the colors on an OLED! Even though this monitor is a matter screen, the colors really pop! While I haven't seen a glossy OLED up close to compare, I'm more than satisfied with this monitor! Plus, the dual refresh rate is amazing, especially if you do the UFO blur test! And the SPEAKERS! I didn't even realize there were built in speakers in the monitor but I love using it.
Overall, a great product by LG

I'm coming from the Samsung G9 27 inch 4k monitor.
I had no idea that the quality would be so different from a regular 4k LCD to an OLED. The colors are so vivid and the blacks are actually black and the whites are white without any washout. I highly recommend these. Still very expensive, but worth it in my opinion. If you mount them on monitor arms, make sure to get some that a rated for the weight of the monitors. Make sure to do the cleaning feature every so often after long gaming/use sessions.

I went from a 1440p 240HZ VA Panel that was the Samsung Odyssey G7 to this new OLED panel at 4k and it was a noticeable upgrade. Having infinite contrast ratio playing games in HDR has been a blast. Of course you want a beefy GPU to push games towards that 240hz refresh rate at 4k and even the 4090 currently can't push some demanding games past 120 fps so there is room to grow into this monitor over the next few years too!
The Pixel sound on this monitor is surprising, I could easily listen to music or play games with it if I want to share my computer audio with someone.
Dual mode also works as advertised once you have it setup. Takes about 10 seconds total for my system to swap over to 1080p and 480hz after pressing the button on the bottom front of the monitor and it's great for competitive FPS games like Valorant or Counter Strike.
At 240hz or 480hz the motion clarity of this monitor is amazing, It is so easy to track targets in games, there is virtually no motion blur.

Great speakers compared to any other monitor I've seen, definitely usable instead of headphones when you don't feel like throwing em on!
The picture quality is good and the response rate/ghosting is almost nonexistent! I'm still adjusting to it from a 24" 1080p monitor, and I'm still not entirely sure that I'll end up keeping it or going for a 27" because of that... but the quality of the monitor itself is outstanding!
I need to upgrade to a GPU that supports HDMI 2.1 to see if the HDR will work better (in reading online, it seems like HDR over displayport on this monitor IS a bit buggy with max brightness and that seems to be what I'm experiencing). I do wish this display supported DP2.1, but I realize we're still a few years away from that becoming widespread too, and it's not something to be critically worried about.

This is one of if not the best gaming monitor to hit the market right now. If you are looking for a gaming monitor with 4K res, a great refresh rate, low response time, and OLED then this checks all the boxes and much more. I purchased this monitor to upgrade from the 27 inch LG OLED monitor because it was a beast of an upgrade and to see if it was worth the purchase. Never dreamed of getting a monitor this big for my setup or even replacing the 27 inch but it does not disappoint. This monitor offers more brightness and better color than what I got from the 27 inch LG OLED monitor with a higher resolution to top it off. The speakers are decent but I still use a dedicated source of sound for the experience. Honestly, I could not give you a reason not to get this monitor. If you want the best and don't have a set budget to work within, this monitor is my recommendation to you.

I’ve had this for about a month now. It’s a solid monitor with great sound. I mostly use it for PS5 game play so I can’t comment it’s pros and cons for PC play. For me it’s perfect and I’m extremely happy with the picture quality. It’s the first monitor I’ve ever had that has a high refresh rate and boy does it make a difference for online. 0 input lag. I’ll come back with an update after I’ve had it for longer.
