When a new monitor isn't working right out of the box, it's often related to the connection cables or initial power. Please ensure all display cables (DisplayPort or HDMI) are firmly seated in both the monitor and your PC's graphics card, and that the monitor's power adapter is securely connected to a working outlet.

Beauty!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a beauty! The monitor is a work of art. It was just a few years ago, when I had 32" TVs and now we have a 32" monitor to place on your computer table. And boy did I have to think twice about keeping it on the table. This thing is heavy, the included monitor stand itself is hefty. But that's a good thing - it needs to be of the best quality for us to trust this behemoth of a monitor on it. Inlcuded in the box are ofcourse the power brick for the monitor (its a 210W brick, isn't that a crazy number for a screen), a display port, an HDMI cable, the monitor stand, and a cover for the back of the monitor to hide the ports. Once you turn it on, you are striken by the quality of the OLED screen immediately. The blacks on the boot screen itself highlight the contrast, and the deep blacks. By default its in the 4k, 240hz mode, and that's the best one for all your normal activities on the computer. There is a shortcut button, at the bottom edge, just left of center, that flips it to the 1080p 480hz mode. At this screen size 1080p looks horrible, so it should only be used in situations like playing esports or fps games where that extra (double) refresh rate would actually matter. But, atleast you can quickly flip back and forth with a simple button. The backlight looks sweet and you have options to choose a few colors, or let it cycle through a band of colors. The speakers are better than they have any right to be on a monitor, even at a volume of 30 they sound about as loud as my old ASUS at full volume, and as clear as a backfiring speaker would be. But as we have stated again and again in this review already, the star of the show is the screen, in a dimly lit room, while watching high res content, or playing a single player game with great graphics, the image just oozes out. OLEDs truly deliver the best of all worlds, the color accuracy, the contrast, the response times. On its merits its a definite recommend, but you have to think about whether you need the dual mode.

perfect size
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For me this monitor is the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. I replaced my 27inch monitor with this one. This monitor makes videos and games look amazing with 4k. My only complaint that I have with this monitor is that it did not come with a remote. There are times wife, and I are watching a movie or show and using the built-in speakers and would like to turn it up or down, but we are sitting back. Or to just adjust some settings. We have our Xbox set up with it and so we sit back some. It would just be easier to have a remote to adjust things. That said, a plus and minus is that this does come with a built-in speaker. All of my monitors so far do not have a built-in speaker built into them except TVs. However, that said, the speaker is not the best sounding. It does not really have any bass and seems to just mainly have Treble to it. No way to adjust it either. But it's better than not having one. One part of the size being perfect for me is if you like a smaller size, you can set it up to do that. It has a built-in future so you can select it to be 27" or 24" if you prefer. It also has a button that you can switch it from being a 4k 240Hz to 1080p 480Hz. This can be helpful if you use a PC and struggle at 4K for gaming. You can change it to 1080 for gaming with a press of a button. Done gaming, and want to enjoy a movie in 4k, press that button and back to being in 4k. Overall, it's nice using this over my last monitor with the dual button to swap from 4k to 1080 when needed. Another kind of downside for me is that it does turn up to 90 degrees, but you can only turn it one direction. Not the biggest deal but would have been nice to choose how I would like to rotate it. But so far, I am enjoying this monitor and would highly recommend this monitor.

Excellent Option for Any User!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been in the market for a new monitor to use with a new gaming desktop I received but didn't feel like my previous monitor provided the best experience so I was more than happy to give the LG UltraGear 32" OLED Dual Mode Gaming Monitor a try. Of course I wanted something that would due justice for my gaming experiences while also being stellar for any non-gaming activities I need to perform (such as video and photo editing as well as for viewing movies and videos). In the simplest of words this monitor and its OLED display is absolutely breathtaking! Every color appears rich, vibrant, and just beautiful when using 4K 240Hz and is still beautiful when you opt to switch to FHD 1080p 480Hz. Don't get me wrong...there are definitely "better" spec options on the market for anyone that needs it but this is definitely a top notch option for the price point compared to others I have tried. It has a sturdy build for the size with an adequate stand which is not always the case in my experience. And while it is billed as a gaming monitor I think it would be an excellent choice for a non-gamer interested in a great looking display for any scenario.

A lot of flexibility with some room for upgrades.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG UltraGear monitor is all about flexibility. At 32-inches, it's a little larger than the iMac desktop I use daily, but it can still easily be paired (adapter required on the Mac side for USB-C to HDMI) to extend the display, enhancing productivity bi-fold. You can also adjust the height of the display which is nice because my iMac is elevated for standing usage. I can also easily pair my MacBook to it, but this introduces one of the cons, which is a lack of switching functionality. The monitor itself is very clean with nearly edge-to-edge display and no noticeable chin. Branding is not very prevalent, although it is present. But this minimalistic approach makes this display work well for both work and play, even with the RBG lighting. Adding to the flexibility of this display are the ports: you have 2 HDMIs. So in theory, I could run my Apple TV to this display and have a "TV" in the office; however, another con is the lack of support for picture-in-a-picture. Technically, if you're using the Mac [macOS] natively, many video apps and sites support this functionality natively so you may even be better not using the Apple TV in this use case. You also have an upstream and downstream USB port, although they are of the A/B variety and the lack of USB-C at this point is a little surprising and a questionable omission. The menu system is easy enough to navigate and there's an OLED image cleaning screensaver to help prevent image retention. The OLED technology and resulting image quality is on true display here. Colors pop and blacks are as deep as they are rich. You can argue for or against the anti-glare/non-glossy display, although it's a little bit of an adjustment when your other devices are all glossy displays. It should also be noted that the display was well-calibrated out of the box and there is a toggle button for the dual mode functionality although you loose quite a bit of resolution to boost the refresh rate and for the type of games I play, this trade-off was not worth it IMO. The speakers are probably the worst thing about this display. Having an above-average sound system built into my desktop, these were simply just not up to par, even with toggling the presets (game, entertainment, sports and off). I guess the good news here, is that there is an included headphone jack so you could always go headset or external speakers, but for a monitor clearly marketed towards gamers, another questionable choice. There's also no webcam, which would've been nice to make this more of a work and play display. In summary, you get a lot of flexibility with this display due to its expansive I/O offerings, refresh rate mode toggling and height adjustability; however, there are some clear omissions and trade-offs like a lackluster sound system, lack of USB-C and webcam, lack of switching capability and lack of picture-in-a-picture support. It's still a solid monitor for everyday usage and media and the picture quality and clean aesthetic make it easy to recommend.

Beautiful, but Not for All
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LG is one of the top names in monitors, without a doubt. And the LG UltraGear 32" OLED 4K monitor continues that trend, albeit with some characteristics that I didn't expect. DESIGN The monitor is sleek and has a great profile to it. The almost borderless design is great to look at and enjoyable to use. I tend to think that 32" monitor are best when they have a slight curve to them, but that's my personal preference and it might not be shared by everyone. What I can say though - is that it should blend in relatively well with any other modern 32" monitor. The base is solid and sturdy, allowing for any style of tilt and turn you could need for your specific setup, and it's very easy to manage your cables behind the monitor for organization and keeping that cable clutter out of view. EXPERIENCE Setup and first time usage is easy enough. Friendly reminder to everyone that you will want to follow the guide in the box to mount the monitor on its stand without touching it for the sake of the panel's health. When you first power on the screen after it's connected to a Windows system, the LG Monitor App Installer will appear on your PC. I tried out some of LG's tuning applications that were included here, and while I will not use them on a daily basis, it is nice to have some tools that can help you configure the monitor. I tend to simply use my monitor as a monitor ones the colors and settings are calibrated. For the record, Windows did detect and run this monitor at 4K 240hz upon first connection to my PC, which is appreciated. PERFORMANCE AND VIEWING High quality gaming is the name of the game with this monitor, probably moreso than color accuracy. I'm not saying that the colors were bad by any means, but the panel should be calibrated personally if color accuracy is your goal. The 240hz 4k and 480hz 1080p dual mode system is wonderful, and while I would only use the 1080p 480hz for seriously competitive gaming, the panel is beautiful, and the 0.03 GTG response timings are plain to see. I've never used a panel that was so responsive before, both in terms of refresh rate and creating a non-smeary imagine. What I do have to say though - is that I am not a huge fan of the matte finish on the screen. It doesn't allow the OLED panel to shine. It seems like it takes away from some of its beauty. Now, again, for competitive gaming in a variety of lighting conditions for a given room, this might be a good thing. I know the window in my office gives some glare from time to time, but honestly, the panel would look so much brighter and robust without the matte finish. FINAL THOUHGHTS The value proposition of this monitor is the dual mode 240hz 4k and 480hz 1080p panel. If that is not your goal or need for a new monitor, I don't think this is the panel you're looking for. Many modern monitors in this price category will provide you with USB-C power delivery for your laptop, a "built-in" dock with the ability to plug in multiple USB devices to the monitor, and heck, maybe even a webcam. For this device though, the focus is really on competitive gamers who want an OLED panel. I don't think that product category will apply to very many buyers in this price range, but I highly recommend everyone looks at this monitor at their local Best Buy to make their own decisions.

Fantastic OLED monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of gaming on 144hz-165hz IPS monitors, this LG Ultra Gear OLED 32” this feels like a huge upgrade to me. It has dual-mode options: 240hz at 4k and 480hz at 1080p with a quick switch button for it on the underside of the monitor. It’s convenient to be able to press it without having to change the resolutions in game or display settings. I wish I knew this earlier but I didn’t realize that the first time I switched modes (from 4k to 1080p), it made my secondary monitor the primary one. This caused a bit of confusion for me but it all worked out. The colors are vibrant, almost overly saturated in my opinion. A few changes in the settings helped a bit. I was surprised to see that a lot of in-game shadows and things I perceived as ‘dark’ in the past on my IPS monitors now had color at times (like a shade of dark blue/purple instead of just black and gray). I feel like this is one of the biggest things I am trying to adjust to. The panel itself is thinner and lighter than I expected. There’s also a setting to change the lights on the back of the monitor called “Hexagon Lighting” under General settings. It’s pretty dim but it shows a little in a dark room. Overall I’m really excited to be gaming on this fantastic 240hz/480hz monitor. Sure I still can’t aim, but now I’ve got no excuses left!

Love this monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, this monitor is endgame for me. At first i didnt know if id hate the matte coating but for this monitor specifically its barely noticable. The colors are gorgeous as well as the ability to switch from 480hz to 240hz at 4k! Definitely reccomend.

Remarkable Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying, this is by far the nicest monitor I have ever used in my life. It is extremely expensive for a 32" non curved monitor but everything about this monitor is impressive. The build quality and construction of this monitor is everything you would except from a monitor at this price. LG did an incredible job with it. The monitor is sleek, the base is sleek, the range of motion and tilt of the monitor is sleek. I also love how you can rotate the orientation of the monitor for either veritcle or horizontal use. The screen visuals of this is insane. Since it is an OLED screen it is incredibly well lit and bright. It's beyond impressive and it feels like everything on my monitor is popping out at me with perfect optimization. I have used a MacBook on this monitor for work and a PC to play games. This is a bit expensive just to use for work purposes but after using this for work the last few days, I do not think I can ever go back to a non OLED monitor...thank you LG, you have ruined me (for the better). Gaming on this thing is nuts...writing how beautiful gameplay is on this thing isn't possible. It needs to be viewed for yourself. The response time with the monitor is brilliantly quick (240Hz at .03MS....wild). The sound is wonderful from the monitor as well. I really cannot say more good things about this monitor. If you have the money and need a really beautiful monitor for gaming, work, etc, this is an investment and a worthy one at that. I not only highly recommend it to people but I am a firm believer that this is one of the best monitors on the market.

Too pricey, design oversights and missing features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LG has decided to play at making a monitor as a hobby instead of a market dominant, fully worked out and mass produced item. Availability constraints hide its horrific pricing. The lack USB-C 140W connection (or even 90W, or even 65W) is a terrible oversight. Most of us in this price market have both a high end laptop of more, and a desktop. I have this money, but these are games being played. Then we have a gamified availability of an overpriced product. Honestly, if it had a serious way to connect my MacBooks as well as my RTX 4090 I would have held my nose. This item was designed for the discount bin six months down the line. It's sad that LG decided to not obliterate and disrupt the entire monitor market. That price is $999. And that missing feature is USB-C connectivity.

Poor customer service Doral Florida location
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In summary: The Customer service at the Doral location was inexistent and their sales associate Elizabeth was incapable of going above and beyond for a customer inquiry on a slow Saturday. Here’s what happened: To celebrate my husband’s birthday, we visited the Doral location to buy two computer monitors. My husband tracked down two of the same brand monitors at this location. Both monitors were in the open box section. As we walked in, we were greeted and asked if we needed help to which we responded: “Yes, we are looking for open box monitors.” The greeter pointed us to the Open Box section, and my husband and I waited for help. Since no one was behind the open box desk, we asked another sales associate for help, and he then pointed us back to the store entrance. Now, we ask yet another sales associate for help and she informs us we need to be added to a list and wait for help. As we continue to wait, about 5 sales associates hover over to the entrance to chit chat and eat M&Ms. None of them offered help. Eventually, a fourth sales associate asks us if we need help. Again, we respond: “yes, we are waiting to be helped as we have added our name to the list.” This sales associate then points to sales associate number five - the unprofessional Elizabeth. We show her the monitors we are interested in buying and ask why both monitors are marked at the same price when they each have different comments (minor scratches to many scratches) and product description discrepancies. To which she responds, “That is the price. They have been reviewed.” Elizabeth showed no interest in going above and beyond or any customer-centric values. Our goal was to buy 2 monitors and we left with nothing. It would have been great if she at least tried to discuss pricing with her manager or at least try to show some effort but there was none. Note: The store was not crowded. This all took place on a Saturday 4:30pm and we only noticed about 5-7 customers on the floor.

More of a Miss compared to 32GS95UE-B
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own both this monitor (32GS95UV-W) and the earlier released one (32GS95UE-B). There are only two differences: one major point, one subjective point: Major: This does not come with LG's Pixel Sound with DTS Virtual:X implementation, so the audio on this model does not sound good at all. Just like any other monitor with generic integrated speakers. Subjective: The rear plastic and stand are white Other than that, it should be the same LG WOLED panel. 2 points off because the audio is significantly better on the 32GS95UE-B. Do not buy this one unless it is properly discounted. As of this review (10/17/2024) it is on sale at $999 here at Best Buy.
