Customers are saying

Customers admire the UltraGear 45” OLED monitor's expansive screen size, incredibly smooth refresh rate, and immersive curved design, praising the OLED technology for its vibrant colors and deep blacks. However, some users note concerns regarding text clarity and the relatively high price point. A few also mention the monitor stand's size and the lack of built-in speakers.

This thing is no joke. So I am a fan of LG monitors. This one replaced a LG 27 inch LED and man was I blown away. When I saw the box, it reminded just how much I underestimated the size difference between the 27 inch display and the 45 inch one. Taking it out of the box, I really could see how aggressive the 800R curve is. It not being a flat display made me very careful when I assembled it. I really didn't want to place the monitor screen on the floor and mess up anything. Assembly is very easy. You just screw in the two parts of the stand. Then you just clip on the stand to the monitor! It looks very pretty and sleek. The screen itself is very thin. It has the RGB LED strips in the back to add that extra gamer look. The metal construction gives it a premium feel. Build quality feels good and you want that with the premium you are paying. The stand is also easily adjustable. To keep things slim, you can control the monitor settings with a separate remote control! For connectivity, you have two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A ports, an optical port, and even a headphone jack! So you will not have to worry about connectivity. Let's get into actual performance. The 240 Hz refresh rate is crazy. Gaming feels like everything is instantaneous. I believe the response time was around 0.03 msec. I wasn't sure how to feel about the aggressive curve but it really does keep everything in view while gaming and adds to the immersion. Not to mention how good everything looks in regards to color accuracy and contrast from a LG OLED screen. Everything looks so vibrant. Brightness wasn't an issue and is easily visible during the day. The glare is minimized with the coating. One of the biggest criticisms that I have been seeing is the resolution. The max resolution is 3440 x 1440. While this does not sound too bad, the pixel density of 3440 x 1440 on a 45 inch display is equivalent to a 1080p 27 inch monitor. I really thought that I would not notice but it really is noticeable, especially with text and productivity use. However, with gaming it really isn't an issue and the other aspects of the monitor make up for it. Also, unless you have a 2000$ graphics card, it really would be impossible to hit 240 Hz with higher resolutions. It would also mean an even higher price tag. All in all, the LG UltraGear 45 inch OLED monitor does what it is meant to do extremely well: gaming. Gaming is an absolute blast with this monitor.

Honestly loved this monitor for gaming and watch movies but the pixel density is to low for other desktop uses, text looked and pixels were so noticeable that it became an eyesore. And was using windows 11 which still has awful hdr support so had to keep shuting off hdr when i was out of games

Huge screen with great color quality. Probably perfect for gaming. However, for my use the text was a bit large & pixelated to view fine text on engineerig drawings easily. I think a monitor this size needs to go at least one step higher on resolution to serve all purposes.

If your focus is just playing games or watching videos on this monitor it is fantastic. For anything else you will likely be disappointed. The relatively low resolution for an 45 inch ultrawide takes some getting used too. Do not use this for productivity or video and photo editing.

You can see the individual oled panels, and the lines that they make. Won't notice it with moving content like video or games. Will definitely notice it with static content, especially grey scale. Ugh is the greyscale ugly. Just see lots of black lines and grids.

This monitor is awesome in theory but in reality the resolution is awful. Nothing looks crisp or sharp on it, and it failures in comparison to a 4K resolution which it lacks. In fact at the size of this monitor and its 1440p resolution, it looks like a 1080p. There are alot of strange glitches with HDR like it turning on and off for split second intervals which really throws off the immersion.

    Watch the Open Boxes

I picked up an open box (said GOOD condition) monitor at Best Buy in Bowie MD which is about an hour drive for me. got home and the monitor is cracked, it doesn’t turn on, the remote is missing, the stand is missing, and the HDMI cables are missing. The Best Buy in Bowie closed at 6pm and I didn’t make it in time to check in with customer service so I went to the Best Buy in glen burnie MD to return. They said the serial number on the monitor does not match the serial number on the box. The could not give me a new monitor or credit because of this. The told me to return to Bowie Best Buy (which is hard because of my work schedule), but they said I might have the same issue there. They said there that someone swapped the monitors. managers need to inspect these open boxes before they are sold to victims like me.

Unfortunately for an unknown reason, this display would only display my pcs image if unplugged then plugged back in mid boot up… this process would have to be repeated everytime the computer is turned back on.. sadly when the monitor would run it was absolute gold.. but after exchanging and having the issue on both monitors I’ll just have to get a refund and wait to find out what the problem is later…. I did troubleshoot for an entire day and confirmed multiple times no issue on my pcs end
