The best “do-everything” display I’ve ever used (work + competitive gaming in one)
The LG UltraGear 45” OLED Dual Mode is hands-down one of the most impressive monitors I’ve ever owned. It’s the rare display that genuinely feels built for two different worlds: cinematic, ultra-sharp productivity and content work… and then instant-switch, high-speed competitive gaming.
The Dual Mode is the killer feature. In one moment you’re in 5K2K WUHD at 165Hz, which looks absolutely insane at 45 inches — crisp text, huge workspace, and a wide, immersive canvas that makes everything feel premium. Then when you want raw performance, flipping to WFHD 330Hz turns it into a competitive gaming monster. That flexibility alone makes it worth it because it replaces what would normally be two separate monitors.
And because it’s OLED, the picture quality is on another level:
• Perfect blacks and insane contrast
• Colors look rich and clean without that “washed” IPS glow
• Motion looks ridiculously smooth, especially paired with the 0.03ms response time
It also nails the essentials for serious gaming. G-Sync/FreeSync Premium Pro makes gameplay feel stable and fluid with no distracting tearing, and the overall responsiveness is instantly noticeable — aiming feels tighter, tracking feels cleaner, and fast movement stays readable.
Build quality is exactly what you expect from LG’s UltraGear line: solid, premium, and designed like it means business. It’s also one of the few monitors that feels equally at home as a high-end workstation display and a top-tier gaming panel.
If you want a monitor that can do editing, productivity, console gaming, PC gaming, and esports-level performance without compromise, this is it. It’s not just a monitor — it’s a whole setup upgrade.
Highly recommended.

The **ultra-wide 4K gaming monitor** delivers stunning visuals, rich colors, and smooth performance. Its expansive widescreen immerses you in every game, while fast refresh rates and crisp detail make action feel alive. Ergonomic stand and sharp contrast enhance comfort and clarity. Though pricey, it’s worth it for serious gamers seeking top-tier picture quality and competitive edge in every session.

Full title was going to be “Perfect gaming display if your budget and desk have room.” Upgraded from a 1440 and the text clarity and resolution bump are noteworthy. Not TV level OLED diplay but excelent for PC gameplay. Was worried about the curve but due to the size it works well with no distortion.

The LG 45GX950 is a beast of a Ultrawide monitor. The speed, color, and ability to play fast paced games in 4k is awesome. Of course you need a good graphics card to achieve 4K 165 HZ, and my 5090 Works quite well! But if you don't have a 5090, or even if you do, you can use its dual mode and play your favorite games at 1080p 330 HZ. Pretty sweet either way!

I just upgraded today from a Samsung LED G9 Odyssey 49 inch, to his 45 inches of LG OLED awesomeness! The 4K resolution for gaming is a game changer for me. Day and night difference in picture quality and game screen size for games. Truly you get more screen with this 45 inch than the 49 ultrawide samsung monitor.
I have a i9 intel, RTX 4090 card and 32 RAM and I had no issues whatsoever with the monitor... it was truly a seamless plug and play experience. So maybe the ones having issues with the DP 2.1 cable is because their PCs are older/less capable? I truly had no hiccups at all.
Definitely a must buy for me. Totally recommended. I play mostly Marvel Rivals and let me tell you, the picture quality at epic graphics and Quality DLSS setting is the best.
I calibrated the picture quality to "Gamer 2", reduced the sharpness to 50, set the Peak Brightness to High and the Gamma to "Mode 4" and to me that is best awesome quality I've been dreaming for! truly worth the upgrade and the money I paid (the full $2K).

It's the best monitor on the market right now. Great color reproduction and amazing clarity. Fast enough for gaming, sharp enough for business or photography. Overall, a beautiful display. Just make sure you have a PC/GPU capable of running it. This monitor is a beast!

I’m coming from a alienware OLED monitor and I’m very happy with this one! First the size/resolution is hands down the best feature of this monitor. The curve is aggressive, but works well for the size. This curve would be too much for me on a smaller monitor.
Out of the box the picture is not great, but after adjusting the setting the picture is incredible. I will miss the glossy screen from my last monitor because matte does loss that “pop”, but it’s not an extreme difference.
If you have the money then I would highly recommend this. The main issue right now is even though an Nvidia 5090 can run games pretty well, newer games will probably still struggle at high settings. So the combined investment for everything is very high.

Currently THE best monitor available anywhere. Great LG OLED display, nice and bright, great resolution, VRR, and HUGE. A great upgrade from the lower resolution previous model Ultragear.
If you have a high end graphics card, it's a must-have. If not, you can always switch it to 2K resolution mode.

Upgrading from the 38" Alienware AW3821DW and I can say that OLED is a game changer! The upped 5k2k resolution is amazing once you are dialed in with the colors and the curve becomes one with your pupils!

This is my end game monitor for casual gaming! You will need a decent GPU to be able to push the resolution and frame rate this Oled Panel can provide but you will be blown away by the performance. Baldur's Gate 3 just looks amazing on this!

Loving this monitor so far. Upgraded from LG 34” 21:9 1440p. 5k2k Resolution is fantastic.
The size is impressive. Certainly meant for larger desks and/or wall mounting.
If you decide to use this monitor for gaming, be certain your GPU can run the resolution. DLSS or FSR can help with this.
The curve is great for immersion and productivity. Could be excessive IF you sat too far away. I keep peak brightness on low so that I can sit closer without straining my eyes.
At the current sale price, I would encourage anyone looking at this monitor to pull the trigger. At MSRP, I would suggest making sure it is in your budget, as it is a premium product with premium price tag.

After deciding to revamp my PC setup with a 5090, I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect monitor to go with. I tried multiple 4K OLED monitors from Samsung, ASUS, and LG.. All were great, but the 5K2K loomed large in the back of my mind - it felt counter to the spirit of a 5090 rig to go with anything but. I finally pulled the trigger and have been happy since. I love the curve which is a total game changer in terms of immersion and though it feels extreme to begin with, settles you in nicely to the point that flat screens will begin to seem like they are almost curving backwards. I use it 80% for gaming and 20% for work and it's a game changer there as well - it's great to be able to have multiple excel sheets, Outlook and a browser all open on the screen at once without having to sacrifice too much space. Overall, I believe this is the best OLED on the market depending on your need. I can't give it 5 stars, because the price is so much higher than its closest competition and I would prefer it had some of the smart capabilities (including a remote) of other LG and Samsung OLEDs. It's annoying to walk away for a few moments and the monitor to turn itself off, then give me a hard time trying to turn it back on mere moments later.

Beautiful oled screen and the perfect size for immersion while gaming. The extra screen makes multi-tasking a breeze as well, without the annoyance of having 2 screens. The 330 hz 1080p is also a nice touch.

I love the monitor i have been the best experience. With its 5k 2k experience making me feel like i'm in thee actual game with its curvature it looks beautiful. With its beautiful colors and deep blacks while playing the game its amazing monitor with dual moade 330 hertz while playing in 1080p. Best monitor experience i've ever had play evertday experiencing this joy of a monitor.

Absolutely stunning! I replaced my 49” Samsung G9 Odyssey with the LG Ultragear and couldn’t be happier. It’s a lot of pixels for gaming (I have an RTX 5090), but it does have the dual mode feature where you can switch to 2560x1080@330Hz which I haven’t tried yet.
One big plus for gaming is the built-in cross hair. You can select a small red or green dot as your cross hair which is ideal for me. The Samsung only has chunky tie-fighter shaped things that are way too large.
Absolutely amazed by the color vibrance. Desktop clarity is also excellent in case you want to do coding or document writing. The curvature is more pronounced at 800R (vs. 1000R of the Samsung) but it works out well for my seating distance and eyesight,

This is a stunning monitor. The curvature is perfect for feeling immersed but not engulfed. The screen real estate, top to bottom, is fantastic. The clarity and color are superb. I'd say this is the best monitor on the market in this price range.
