I took a chance on this player because it was only $89 at best buy and I am so glad I did. I f you are just looking at movies this player is as good as the much more expensive players that I have tried, blueray movies are crystal clear and my regular dvd's look so much better the upscaling in this player is great this player was a real steel my 4ktv has never looked better.

    Does it all

I am using this through a pioneer elite recirver into a 1080p projector so I can’t comment on the 4K picture quality. However, the 1080p picture quality is as good as my old Sony Blu-ray player, even when watching 4K discs. I wanted to get a 4K player because most 4K discs have either DTS-X or Dolby Atmos while most standard Blu-rays do not and this produces both of those codecs without issue. It is a no frills machine; no streaming, small remote, no display on the machine itself and the menus are pretty basic but the load times are fast. But all in all, for the price, I don’t think this 4K player can be beat (again, I can’t comment on the 4K picture quality as I’m not running this through a 4K display). I also can’t comment on its longevity as I only just got it and we’ve watched 2 movies. One was a standard Blu-ray with Atmos and one 4K with Atmos and both were great.

    Great Player

I've read several of the reviews on this LG 4K player. It seems that many of us seem to forget that different people look for different things on these electronics (TVs, DVD Players, etc). So all those reviewers who are complaining that it didn't have this or that, should have read the specs for the player before they bought it. I don't need streaming; I don't care that it doesn't have WiFi; I don't care that it's not Smart. My 4K TV does all that. I wanted a dependable player that plays native 4K discs & upconverts. And by the way, any of these players only convert BDs 1080 pixels up to 4K. Regular DVDs at 720 pixels are upconverted to 1080, not 4K. So I got a 4K player that goes with my Smart 4K TV and that's all I wanted. At 73 I have 20/20 vision (with glasses) & there's nothing wrong with my hearing. This LG provides and upconverts an excellent picture and I don't need a hundred woofers blasting me out of the house. Sometimes simplicity is a wonderful thing.

A Good cheap lowend 4k bluray Player

A Good budget 4k Blu-ray player, That note no Wi-Fi nor streaming, but At $ 79 on sale its low-end but good enough. That I pick this lg player my sony 4k upscale player would not upscale blu-rays only show 1080P. This is my 1st 4k bluray player all on screen settings and setup are like other Lg bluray Players. There Are higher end 4k bulray players But cost more than this I would start A 4k bluray movie collection with the money saved. I read other reviews pick hdmi Cable with no more than 14.75 feet cable I pick A cheap premium 4k Hdmi cable 18 gbps speeds . This is entry level But if you to adjust settings get good results. The Picture seams darker tip when playing 4k uhd movie hit the info then pick options then select the picture modes then go to custom than set the brightness higher. What I like ability fast ward with disc captions enable I think it’s call Speed watching. When I got this player I also added A warranty for peace of mind. I Like 4k blurays look please note some UHD disc can stutter shortly only when there is fast movement.

100 bucks! Not bad for 4K AND upscaling. The 4K looks great. Upscaled bluray is very good, upscaled DVD is OK but not great. Does exactly what I wanted. My TV is smart so I had no need for a smart disc player. This has no wireless and no smart features. Perfectly meets my needs.

Great 4K player. Does what it’s supposed to do and does it very well. Matches perfect with the LG OLED tv. Need to do a firmware update to be compatible with Dolby Vision. Can’t go wrong for $89!!!

    Good Basic Player

If your looking for a basic no frills player this one works fine, plays 4k discs and has a decent on sale price to boot. There is no wifi it requires wired network for FW updates, no picture zoom, no smart features at all so if you need theses features move on to a more advance player. I already have an LG OLED TV purchased a couple of years ago that has all the features this player is missing. So far the player is easy to use works reliably and quietly - plays DVD's, BluRay and 4k discs no problem with good quality picture. Playback has been seamless no picture stuttering haunting etc. as long as I keep the popcorn butter off the discs and they don't have scuffs or scratches on them. I would not pay $200.00 for this player but the on sale half off price was worth it to get 4k playback.

    Good basic player

I cannot comment on 4k ability,. which admittedly is an important feature of this player. I have only used it for standard DVDs and Blu ray DVDs. The player feels a bit more solid than its competition. As stated, no WiFi. As stated little or no streaming. The menus are simple. Not a lot to adjust. But the playback is excellent, and that is what matters to me. And the upscaling of standard DVDs is also quite good. An added bonus, if you own an LG TV, is that the controller will allow some control of the TV which is convenient. A feature which I wish was better is the controller, which is rather small, cheap, but works. Cheap controllers seems to be somewhat common, among many players. There are choices at this price. This is a good choice to consider.

    Nice system for the money

Bought this player when it was 79.99 as a 2ndary 4k player to be used specificly for tv shows and anime as my first 4k player is a sony but it doesnt resume after you take disc out. So far player is great, have it connected to samsung 65" wiht a ocean blue 4k hdmi cable. Picture looks nice and clear, menu is basic as it can be, ethernet only, no wifi and no apps, normally a 200 player, so thats a little disappointing considering other 4k players at 199 have wifi and smart. So for $80 not bad. My only gripe is the audio, threw my sound system on sony vol 17-20 is nice and loud, on this player i have to have it at vol 35 and u only get pretty much Auto for audio options, no mono/stereo/5.1 setup, just auto. all and all its not a bad player, not $200 worth, id go wiht sony for that or samsung, but for a basic setup player, you cant go wrong for 100.00

Ever since I got my Samsung 4K TV a little over a year ago, I've been waiting for the prices of a 4K DVD player to drop to reasonable levels. Saw this one on sale at BB for under $100 just before Christmas. Based on customer reviews here and the name brand LG, decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. It plays all the DVD's; regular, blu-ray and 4K as well as one would expect. Haven't tried 3D because TV is not 3D. It also integrates well into my Logitech Harmony 360 all-in-one remote. Have had the unit for 2 weeks and it's all good so far.

    4k Blu Ray Player

This is a great Player if you are looking to upgrade to 4k. No, it is not a smart player, but hey, I already have a smart UHDTV. I don't need all the extras here too. My LG TV does not support HDR, but it does have the Deep Color feature. Colors are more vibrant, picture has much better contrast on this player versus my old Blu Ray player. And sound quality is better too. So, while this player does not have the all the extra apps, what it does do, it does very well. A smart purchase.

    Be aware

I purchased this player for use with my 3D 4K tv. The problem is that I need to run a 12 foot HDMI cable and this player will not transmit a picture that distance. I found in the online owners manual that LG recommends no more than 14.75 feet however my experience is it won't work with a 12 foot 4K HDR with Ethernet HDMI cable. It did work with a 6 foot cable and produced a fine picture. I returned the player for refund and in the future I will be better aware of this potential problem. By the way my BP620 LG blu-ray player works fine on the same 12 foot cable.

Exactly what I was looking for, a basic HDR compatible UHD player. In a world full of smart TV's, game consoles and streaming sticks the lack of wifi and apps was a non issue for me. The main menu is a little dated looking but the actual performance is fantastic. No issues with loud noises or vibrations that others have mentioned so far. Great player at a great price from a trusted name.

Granted - I have nothing to really compare to since this is my first 4K player to be pumped into my Sony 75 inch 4k bought last year - but it looks FANTASTIC on both HDR movies and even old DVDs. And especially BLU RAYS - the difference it quite noticeable. It IS no frills - it has an ethernet port I might plug in to se if there are any update s - other than, this is standard 5.1ish (great great sound but no Dollby Atmos) and plays wonderfully - and for someone that used to get annoyed at all the nonsense when you hit the wrong button on a blu ray disc (suddenly you are on the internet) i actually enjoy the no frilll aspect of this device. Great deal - 100 bucks and I could not be happier - and it plays 3D!

Purchased this for $79. Great price and a huge upgrade from my old player. Picture quality is great. I use it with my epson projector with no issues except I can't seem to be able to turn every movie 3d like my projector allows. I'm sure it has something to do with this blu-ray player.

I've only owned this for a month, and it works great for playing my Blu-Ray's and old DVD's. It up converts my old 1930's and 40's movies, and they look pretty darn good. I haven't tried the 3D yet... I bought this to replace an old Sony that just stopped working and wasn't that old. I also have another Sony in my bedroom and it's some what temperamental. That's why I went with the LG this time. I got it on sale for $89.99.
