Works well for my needs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just needed a simple 4k BD player and this does the job with my Roku TV and sound bar. This was perfect. No extras like the "smart" media player stuff since I already have a smart TV, that wasn't necessary. Amazing quality and easy instructions and remote. No complaints here.

A great low budget 4K Blu-ray Player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first 4K Blu-ray Player I owned and it fulfills my needs. It works fine. It supports Dolby Atmos. My only complaints which aren't even huge is that it doesn't support Dolby Vision and there is no apps. I didn't expect this though with a low budget player.

NO YOUTUBE !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BEWARE! LG Blue Ray Players do Not support YouTube! I own the LG 3D Blue Ray Player & YouTube is no longer accessible via it's included app. So, watching YouTube via this player as many of used to do, is no longer available! LG lost it's YouTube license. Other than that, it's 3D performance is the best! ~ peace

Very good player for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I have only had this player for a week, I am very satisfied with it for the price. However, I don't need it for streaming or Wi Fi. I have other components to do that. It does a nice job upscaling the resolution for DVD and original Blu Ray. My only complaint is the cheap crappy remote!

Missing things you expect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has no WI-FI. You must be connected to a wire to update. Has no smart features whatsoever. It plays discs and nothing more. Also, we had trouble with it stuttering on 4K discs. They hit their $99 price point for black Friday, but the built a weak stripped down player to get there. RETURNED and bought a full featured model for $50 more.

Issues with Sony 4K UHD discs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything seemed to work fine with this player, until I tried to play some Sony 4K UHD discs (Passengers and Spiderman Homecoming). For some reason, the Dolby TrueHD audio coming from Sony 4K UHD discs randomly drops in and out. It did not do this with Dolby TrueHD audio coming from a Disney 4K UHD disc (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.). I tried 2 different LG players, ensured i had the latest firmware, but experienced the same exact issue on both. I eventually gave up and switched to the Sony X800, and now both Sony and Disney 4K UHD discs play the Dolby TrueHD audio without any glitches.

LG 4K UHD Bluray Player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to upgrade my LG 3D Bluray player to UHD 4K. Installed it, and it worked as far as playing a disk. BUT the tiny remote was difficult to use vand none of the extra features from the earlier player were included on this one. It seemed I had to point the remote directly at the player to have any success and press the buttons multiple times. returning it asap.

Strange but Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I connected this to my LG OLED TV and I put Man of Steel 4k in it and upon playing the movie, text appeared saying "Insert a 4K Disc for optimal quality" My TV didn't display that it was playing in HDR like the UP970 model does. I returned it and will probably get another UP970 model. If you're hoping that this plays Dolby Vision, that's a no no as well.

Mine didn't work.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this unit. I got it all set up and when I tried to play a 4k disc the player didn't recognize my disc. That was odd. I tried a blu-ray disc and it didn't work either. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with LG customer service trying various troubleshooting ideas and none of them worked. Whatever was causing my player not to play discs was not fixable by any kind of hard restart or firmware update. It looks like I'll be returning this unit and I think I will pay a little extra to get a better player. I'm sure that what happened with mine was a fluke but it was frustrating nonetheless. Buyer beware.

Absolute Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This DVD player has some of the dumbest DVD protection I have ever seen. Halfway threw many Redbox, Netflix, and even two of my purchase DVDs it will give a notice all audio is being cut and stop the movie because it is detecting a pirated DVD. Obviously that is not at all what it is detecting because first of all they are not pirated, and second of all it isn't worth the hassle to pirate DVDs in this day and era. I tried updating it and it said there were no updates. I contacted LG and they didn't care. They basically told me to deal with it. LG is riding on a name. You will regret this purchase. I have no idea how many people rated this as a good DVD player. They obviously got lucky with the single DVD they tested and just came on here to rate it. I will never buy from LG again in any regard.

won’t play new UHDs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.worked great for a year, but any newer discs will not load. so far i cannot get: Skyscraper, 2001 or Matrix: Reloaded to even pull up menu screens. they spin and spin and give a “Disc Error.” these discs work fine on my parents Samsung player. i even exchanged my Matrix copy for another brand new one because i thought it was defective - turns out both copies were just fine - it’s the player. any blu-rays and older 4K discs work fine, but the number of movies i own and cannot watch is increasing weekly. please fix this LG!

Life is not so good with this UHD Player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The player would not load any discs whether they were UHD or regular Bluray. I even tried the software update on the player. Basically, it will be stuck in load mode for 2 to 3 minutes and then just eject the disc. Since I could not get any disc to load, I can't comment on the quality of the picture. But beware. It may be a lottery to get a working one.

21st Century picture 20th Century connect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice blu-ray player with one HUGE setback. it requires a wired connection. That's right there is no wireless card installed in this unit. I honestly don't know why they'd make something that requires an RJ45 connection as not everyone has a router or modem in every room in the house.
