Beautiful Sound and Rugged
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker system has beautiful bass. It is bigger than its smaller siblings (LG also announced the PK5 and PK3), and has more and larger individual speakers. It has buttons for enhanced bass for better lows and clear-voice which gives you more highs. The sound is extremely solid with no rattles or rumbles, just excellent for music or for cell phone calls. The unit has a very nice rear-cover to protect the connections which makes it weather resistant. It has more power than most similar speakers with 40 watts RMS. Note if you don’t see RMS, you are being quoted a peak wattage which is less powerful. So 40 watts RMS is like 57 watts peak. This speaker system has Meridian Audio Technology built in and this does seem to make the music sound live, that’s the best way for me to describe it. I know outdoors it seemed to be 360 degree sound. The placement of the bass, middle drivers and tweeters of course is well designed to bring you incredible sound from this unit. I also have another Bluetooth portable speaker which sells at the same price point, and this LG had better bass – so that was an important comparison I think. You should install the LG Music Flow Bluetooth app (there is another LG Music Flow app, so be sure to get the one that’s title says Bluetooth), this app will make it easier to handle lighting and other controls from your phone. This LG PK7 does synchronize its built-in LED light to the rhythm of the music. I remember building a light box with electronics to do this syncing called a ‘color organ’; now this ability is built-in with miniature circuits – wonderful. Try the app, you will like it. It paired easily with my computer, phone or even my AirTV which I liked a lot. I did test the 22-hour playback on one charge and it was even longer, excellent for a speaker and due primarily to its larger lithium ion battery. It does automatically filter audio on cell phone calls, so the audio is very clear. I tested and it did seem that this feature was working nicely. It does have a built in microphone. You have a reset button and yes, I like that when you want to get it back to original settings quickly. It did take longer than I expected to charge it fully, however it has a large battery and doesn’t require another charge for a few days of on-and-off usage. I did use the wired auxiliary input and it worked but the volume was lower – tried this using two different devices and Bluetooth volume from same device was louder for some reason. I do think this is not something most people will use as the wireless connectivity is a lot more desirable anyway. The other feature that is nice is the ability to sync two or more units and double your sound. It’s a useful feature to get more volume for a party. You do get a 1-year parts and labor warranty and that’s good to note since sometimes I will see a product with only 90 days. Overall, I do love this unit and recommend it to use with your computer or cell phone or even a TV setup like am doing.

Very nice addition to my outdoor parties
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can use this to play music, or to defend your spot on the beach. This is a very decent sounding Bluetooth music player, and it has some heft to it. As with all Bluetooth speakers, I first judge on using it just as a speaker. The app is not mandatory to play music, which Iove. The sound was decent, and the bass was good. The lights are an extra that I used for an outdoor party and it was cool. It rained at the end of the party, I just left it out in the rain since we didn't get out of the water, and it kept playing. I always test a speaker with 2 songs (even when I go to a store) MGK Wild Boy and Queen Bohemian Rhapsody. This gives me a good range for the lower and higher end of the music Pro: water resistant (take to the pool do NOT put in the water) can play music without the app very loud and was heard over the party decent sound, but i have an iPhone so I hit a wall 22 hours? how can you so no? apparently with android you can link more than 1 speaker cons: iPhone....you are getting about half the features that droid gets there is a button on the top that activates my iPhone Siri no equalizer except what comes with your iPhone no external power, so I cant charge my phone and play on here no support for smart devices no USB-c or other common plug Does this sound good and loud? yes can it be better? yes of course if you need a good loud outdoor speaker and have an android yes this is great have an iPhone? maybe wait to see if an app comes out

Powerhouse speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG PK7 is very impressive. It looks nice, sounds great and the battery life is simply amazing. It’s the ideal set up for a small gathering or even an office presentation. Sound: The speaker utilizes Meridian Audio technology, which is something I was not familiar with. So I researched it. Meridian Audio started with researching how a person hears. They incorporate that research into making small speakers produce big sound. The sound comes out of two tweeters and two radiator speakers to get the sharp highs and clean bass. The speaker has various EQ settings great for anything you listen to. From spoken voice to hard hitting rock or r&b. Appearance: The PK7 is on the edge is being portable, and is the largest of the three offerings by LG. It’s water resistant and rugged shell is perfect for outside activities. It has a grip on the speaker for easy transport. Finally, it lights up and matches the sound of the music you are playing. Like the light is keeping the beat. It’s a cool feature if you like that, maybe to get that club effect. But it’s not strong enough to do that alone for sure. Battery: The battery says it will last for 22 hours!!! I’m not sure what else needs to be said about that. It almost lasts for an entire day in a single charge. Other feature: I didn’t mention it before, because I thought it was obvious. But this speaker is Bluetooth compatible. Aside from having the quality speakers, it also has an integrated microphone so when you link your phone up you can talk to your caller through the speaker itself. Very cool feature that I know other companies have, but none the less it’s a nice feature. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a quality speaker for a variety of uses. Like I stated before, from anything like a presentation to a small party setting. It’s a powerhouse, indoor or outdoors.

Really well designed bt speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is so far my favorite BT speaker. First of all the size is perfect. Its not too big, or too small, and not at all bulky. The design of it is fantastic as well. The handles, which make it very easy to carry around, remind me of a Boom Box. It has rubber feet so it stays in place. The buttons are big and feel pretty solid. Also the water resistance is a plus. I wont feel bad leaving it by an open window or taking it outside with me. As for the sound that comes out of this thing. I compared it to all of my other BT speakers which isn't a great test because most of them are smaller in size so they have smaller speakers overall but for what it is worth the sound of this was better than all of them. Make sure to leave the clear vocal and enhanced bass on when using. It gets loud enough for its size without getting to distorted. Obviously if you want something that can get super loud you would want something bigger but for the size it does great. All the ports are in the back with a door that can be placed over them to keep out the elements. The two peice charging cable is elbow shaped at the plug end which I really liked. The cord is a bit long and has a power brick in it. Just like a typical laptop charging cable. The led lighting is a plus. I usually leave it on for some background activity. It tries to change with the beat and rhythm of the music. It does a OK job of this. If you don't like it you can turn it off too which may save a bit of battery in the process. In a world with so many BT speakers available the lights give it a bit of uniqueness. Overall LG did a great job with this model.

Solid speaker.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG Pk7 is a solid “portable” Bluetooth speaker that offers good value for what you get. In terms of portable speakers go, this is more of the move from room to room or room to deck kinda speaker. It’s not the kinda speaker that I personally would take on a trip or really anywhere outside of my house, not saying you couldn’t. The sound is very solid whether you’re listening to jazz, rock, country or rap it definitely did not disappoint. With the enhanced bass feature you get more depth to the music that some of the portable Bluetooth speakers lack. I love the lights, it’s a nice cool feature to have especially when you’re listening to music at night on the deck. I think at this price point it’s a very solid speaker that easily competes with ones that are more expensive. If you’re looking for a small speaker with a lot of features, solid construction and won’t break the bank check out the pk7.
