There was a lot of the scenes such as the closeups where you could feel drawn into the movie. I could feel the emotion and awe of Pi's experience, his actions & reactions to everyting. I really enjoyed just sitting on my couch relaxed and watching it. I have seen it more than once, and will probably see it again.

this is a must have film to have in your 4K collection. I own this on a Blu-ray format and doesn’t come close to how it looks in 4K. If your TV has a vivid option in the settings, turn it on for this film.

A family decides to sell their zoo in India and move to Canada. They board a freighter and a storm sinks the ship. Pi a teenager, a few animals and a Bengal tiger survive. Days turn into weeks, weeks drag into months. Pi and the tiger must learn to trust each other if both are to survive.

Amazing tale that opens with the line, "I will tell you a story that will make you believe in God." As is expected from Ang Lee, such a colourful tale comes with his typical ingeniously rich visual imagery, leading to many breathtaking and haunting shots ('Best Cinematography' too), made all the more effective by its grandiose use of 3D technology: hence, watching this film in 2D is like listening to music with your ears closed.

The movie try to show nature and personality. It is more that a survival story and it is not about friendship. This story is about faith. Director Ang Lee use all the tools he have to make this movie about a solitary young man not a boring one. It is narrated by both, young Pi and the Adult Pi, it uses music all the time so there is not space for uncomfortable silents and the rhythm of the scenes is fast. The result a very entertained film.

I bought this DVD to test my new home theater setup. I am very impressed. The movie was entertaining, but what really sold me on it was the incredible sound and visuals. It is absolutely stunning in both areas. I have a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup and the new LG OLED tv. Amazing.

There is just no real way to describe this films incredible journey. Needless to say this is one of the most original films that I have seen in quite some time. Suitable for the entire family this film will take you on the most incredible journey into what it means to be alive.

When I first saw the previews, I thought it would be something weird and something I wouldn't enjoy, so never saw it in the theaters. I had a free code for redbox when it came out and used it on this movie since the reviews were good. After watching it, we just had to buy it. Very symbolic and keeps you wondering.

A most entertaining story, great acting, and the cinematography is top notch. I'll watch this movie several times over the years. Great date movie too! The extras show how the movie was actually made and how technology makes movies like this possible. It will only get better from here. Highly recommended!

Holy cow, if you have never seen Life of PI and you have a display that supports HDR, this is a MUST see film. The beautiful shots of the ocean at night and even during the day are great. Really makes you see what the buzz is about with HDR. Great film and I highly recommend it

Okay I thought no way is this worth it in 3D- BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! From start to finish just sucked you in even more with the 3D picture!! Well worth getting in 3D!!! really enjoyed the movie also.

I watched this movie when it first came out in Blu-ray, and I was struck by the brilliance of colors. I wondered how much better it could actually be in 4K. Well, I was amazed! If you purchase a 4K TV and 4K Blu-ray player and you want to show it off, this is the go to movie!

Life of PI is an imaginative tale full of detail & wonder; a true adventure of the mind. There are low spots that you may not grasp, but all will be explained by the end. Enjoy this adventure, have some popcorn & just enjoy this vision; you'll be glad you did!

A truly incredible and beautiful film, an emotional but still a moving and feel good experience. The blu-ray is both faithful in honoring the technical aspects from the 3D to the sound to the features. Highly recommended!

Dynamic story and a fine performance by its lead actor. The CGI tiger is convincing and mesmerizing. The drama and pathos are superb and the film touches and excites, even as it pulls at your heartstrings. Highly recommended for all but the youngest of children.

I really enjoy this movie, its a good movie. And getting it on sale for blue-ray and 4k plus a digital version is a great deal.

I bought this movie because I had heard how great the visuals were. Yes they are but the story is a very intriguing mix of religion, philosophy and psychology. A refreshing departure from the typical Hollywood formula of extreme action and weak story.

I watched this about three times already; once on bluray before I bought it, I then bought this version because the kids wanted to see it again (plus I read that it was a must to see it in 3D), then the kids wanted to see it again in 3D. I could't help but to watch it again with them the third time.

The 4K looks really good. I only wish it came with a slipcover, but the Blu-ray slipcover on top will have to do. I miss 20th Century Fox being their own before Disney bought them.

I had heard great reviews of this movie and when Best Buy had it at a great price, I picked it up to review for myself. The movie is a very entertaining story of a young mans' journey after a ship wreck and being along in a life boat with a wild tiger. I really enjoyed the adventure.
