Life of Pi is an amazing tale of the human spirit and its ability to overcome adversity and loss through faith and sheer will. Backed by fantastical settings and imagery, the story of Pi's survival after losing everything is breathtaking and heartbreaking all at once. The Blu-ray presentation is of the highest quality and the Best Buy exclusive e-book credit makes this one of the best releases I've seen so far this year.

Ang Lee created something really heart warming & visually stunning with Life Of Pi. The story really pulls you in & makes you believe in what you're seeing. The 3D is absolutely the way to go, possibly the best 3D film I have seen so far. It adds so much to the film. A really inspirational film that should be seen by all movie lovers.

Nearly the entire film is CGI but what is remarkable is that it is well rendered. The surface of water is one of the most difficult images to render successfully in CGI but this film is the best yet. Sort of a sad story but well worth the view.

It is a movie that makes you think; or even better in my case I am reading the book after I have watched the movie. The plot appears simple until to the very end (no spoiler here). I've discussed this novel with others. It is controversial, or provoking to some extent. Yet you’ll have a deeper understanding about life and region after this movie. Pros: beautiful scenes, excellent cinematography.

Life of Pi is probably hands down the BEST 3D PQ to come to bluray. Ang Lee deserved his best director win for this movie. The visuals are amazing. If your looking to show off your 3D system to doubts this is the disc to get. As far as the movie goes, it was a bit slow for me and I really never got that involved with the it. I know, I know it was praised by many many people. Overall it was still a good movie and worth watching. Just not something I would watch on repeat. 3D makes it worth while though. At least a rental.

I watched Life of Pie in the theater 3 times before I bought this blue-ray version. This is one of the movies with greatest imagination. Ang Lee doesn't only give us a sock-knocking story. His wise connection between religions left me with something to chew on after enjoying this visual feast. "Religion is a house with many rooms, and there is room for doubts".

Life of PI is a brilliant and thoughtful film and offers some of the best at-home 3D to date. Watching the film it's not hard to tell why it received so many Oscar nods. The cinematography is innovative and visually stunning. My version also came with $10 e-book cash to download the book. That was a huge bonus. I'm now halfway through the even more impressive book.

I purchased this movie - not so much for the story - but for the 3-D effects I wanted to test the 3-D feature on my new 70inch SONY TV that I also purchased from BESTBUY the Movie & the TV didn't disappoint! while I thought I wouldn't be into the story I surprisingly did enjoy it but to be honest without the 3-D feature it would have been just OK

Saw this in the theater in 3D and had to own it on 3D when it was released on blu-ray. This disk did not disappoint. Great sound and visuals. I highly recommended this movie to anyone, especially families. No offensive language or any other things that parents can be concerned about. This is a VERY powerful movie with a great twist ending.

I choose to believe Pi survived on a raft with a tiger. That story is awesome. Plus, I paid to see a tiger on a raft but i knew the story was going to be dealing with more than a Big Cat on open water. Without, telling to much, the visual effects will make a 55-110 inch screen explode with color and images. This is a family movie or a home alone, watch.

The film is a wonderful experience to watch - the visuals are often breathtaking and the 3D elements are extremely well done. The movie deserves to be seen in 3D and if you have a capable TV and bluray player it is the way to watch the movie. The plot is pretty good too but can be a bit slow at the beginning, but that isn't necessarily a flaw depending on who are you. Overall, I would recommend the film to anyone who has an interest in great visuals and the idea of man against nature.

While I am not a religious person, I do appreciate a good story. This tale is masterfully woven and just when you start to think it is going awry, the ending reveals why with a powerful message. Surprisingly, it seems not many people actually understand it unfortunately. It is a great movie to discuss with others after watching, and truly inspiring.

The impossible was done and done well. This is an amazing journey filled with humor and heart . I watched all the best picture nominees and this was my second favorite ( behind silver linings Playbook). The visuals are striking and the director preserves a twist at the end which can change your whole outlook on the movie. Great film

Life of Pi is an amazing movie, one of the few movie adaptations that I prefer over the source book. Ang Lee has crafted a visually stunning yet meditative masterpiece. The 3D looks amazing; one of the few movies where 3D enhances the narrative (Avatar and Hobbit are the only other 2 that come to mind for me).

This is a great movie from a great book. The Blu-ray version is beautiful and colors are lush and rich. The narrative, storyline, music are woven together for a simple but entrancing story. While I knew the tiger would be CG, it was hard not to believe that the tiger was real. Good for the entire family.

This movie was brilliant and the special effects made me believe, two animals of the kingdom can co-exist in a tiny boat on the OCEAN. I purchased glasses and was waiting to finally use them and this movie did not fail in its visual intention. I used the promo and this purchase became a bargain.

Life of Pi did quite well at the Oscars and it is well deserved. The blu-ray 2D release looks and sounds stunning and comes with a great amount of interesting special features that are well worth watching. The movie itself was great and has a high re-watch-ability factor. Highly recommended.

The idea behind this movie is truly unique, and captivates the audience completely. It's one of these movies that you *have* to watch. Yes, the idea comes from a book, but still, the way its been transformed into a movie, is almost perfect. The experience in Blu-ray takes it even further !

A conceptually unique experience. Highly entertaining and just plain fun to watch, this film goes to a new place hitherto unknown in filmmaking, but, prehaps fantasized by many as to how such a thing could happen in the first place, and, play out as it does. A beautiful piece of work.
