I paid $80 for this case and initially it appeared that it would meet my needs. I had the case for 3 days and it started to fall apart. I first piece that broke was the cover for the charger port. I went back to the store to get it replaced and sure enough 3 days later the very same thing happen. By the time a week went by the entire case had practically fallen apart. It was money definitely not well spent. I won't by another one.

There is no point of having a case that protects you when you can't even make phone calls because they can't hear you and you can't hear them. My voice sounds like an ecco, similar to being in a hallway from far away talking, so the voice is distorted and they don't hear me clearly. Then when they speak, i can't hear them. There is no other point for this case! Bad design and testing!

I keep seeing all these reviews on the echos! And it's bad and yes you can fix it by getting the port open on every call HOWEVER!!! CALL LIFEPROOF AND DO A WARRANTY CLAIM WITH THEM!!! They are aware of the issue. The replacement case they sent me doesn't echo with the door closed woohoo! Overall this case rocks I would buy it again and again. Well worth the money but if you get it from lifeproof they offer a year warranty on your phone for 10 bucks if the case fails.

I was very disappointed with this product. While it does a great job of protecting the phone and it is not as bulky as other, the people you are talking to hear themselves echoing so bad that they get frustrated and can't talk to you. I had everyone I talked to tell me it echoed. I took off case and it was fine. I tried to contact Lifeproof and they never answered. I got on their website and saw hundreds of complaints for the same thing. After reading through several Lifepeoof told the customers. " Sorry, we know it does. We can't seem to fix it. Take it back and we will notify customers when we make a new one that works." Uh no thanks. Took mine back to Bestbuy and will try Otterbox. I am also suggesting that Bestbuy nit sell this clearly poor product to management.

My wife bought me this for my bitlrthday! Very good gift my daughter ended up dropping it in the bath tub. The case was all sealed so nothing happened to my phone. I could not be happier!

I spent more money on this case to take extra precaution. Had I known or been informed by Best Buys representative that the phone itself was already waterproof and shatter proof, I would of bought the less expensive cases. Nonetheless after buying Life proof, which I was told was the best, I encountered a big problem. People could not hear me and they would hear echoes. It's my first smartphone as well, so I figured that I just need to fix my settings or speak into it a different way. After 3 months of procrastinating I figured it out that it was the case. So now I'm out $80. Should of done my research. The case may be waterproof and shatter proof but it is also sound proof. Don't waste your money!

The case I'd a great fit and allows access to almost everything... The one thing this case doesn't allow you to do is access the fingerprint scanner. I know it says it does but it doesn't

I bought my first Lifecase after hearing all the great things about it. It seemed like everyone had one. Immediately upon installation, I noticed a swirly rainbow like pattern under the screen. Let me say this, I am absolutely fanatical about keeping my screen clean and treat my phones very gently. Before installation I wiped the screen and inside of the screen with the enclosed white cloth numerous times to ensure it was clean, lint, dust and oil free. This did not go away. I decided to live with it. 2 times I had my phone with case on my lap and stood up and unfortunately the phone dropped. Within 2 weeks, the top edge was cracked and then the bottom edge after only 2 drops from not high up. A few days later, the charging port door fell off. I called Lifecase and they graciously replaced my case with not many questions asked. Great customer support! My new case arrived and again the swirly rainbow pattern on the inside. I called back and was give a suggestion to wipe inside the screen with baby powder. I did. Still had the same problem. I've had the new case a month now and the charging port door feels like it's going to snap off again and the rainbow swirls are still there. Overall I am not very pleased with the quality of my case and have searched for another. After reading many reviews, it seems Lifecase is always the best option. I will keep this case until it breaks and then search for other options. I love the way it feels in my hand, it looks cool and I really want to love it. But I don't.

I recently bought this case due to my previous case not being bulky enough to withstand a few drops. I definitely trust my life proof case as I've dropped it once or twice and the case and my phone seemed nearly untouched.

I'm glad to see from reviews that I'm not the only one having a problem with the phone echoing with this case. Lifeproof has disappointed me greatly with this case, I had one on my iPhone that wasn't as bad. The case is waterproof but is difficult to take pictures underwater. My case was so tight I thought I was going to break it when I took it off. The power button is hard to operate. I have switched back to my otterbox defender series and debating trying the preserver series.

I needed a new phone case for my S5. Since I loved the lifeproof on my kids ipad, I thought maybe this would work great on my phone. I absolutely hated it! The side buttons are very hard to press and use. You cannot do any screenshots w/ this case on. What made me finally realize I could not keep this case was the sound quality. I could barely hear anyone on the phone since the case is blocking the speaker where you put your ear on the phone.

I just purchased this black Frē case to replace the original white one I bought with my phone about 2 years ago. I've dropped it weekly and my S5 is prefectly fine. The case rubber buttons broke and the rubber plug for the aux plug in ripped off. This is all from daily use (& anxiously fidgeting with it).. not being rough with it. I live on my phone and this case let's me keep it alive!

I bought this case because I am in the Army, live on my phone, and take it to ridiculous places. I have heard of the name lifeproof and heard good things. I have previously used primarily Otterbox Defenders and have never had a problem, but they are SUPER bulky and make your phone feel like your holding a rubberized stone to your ear. This case was slimmer and overall had a better feel than the Otterbox. It also was waterproof and while I'm not swimming or around large bodies of water often, its nice to know if my kids drop my phone in the toilet while playing MineCraft it's not going to kill it. Case fits great and feels good in the hand. Looks nice and is definitely durable. However, after using it for about a week, I have taken it off. I have to be in a "quieter" area to even be heard legibly and one of my co-workers said it sounded like I was "inside a garbage can". I got online and looked at reviews and similar concerns were voiced. After looking I found another company I trusted had started making waterproof cases not as bulky and better looking. While I still prefer the look of the lifeproof case, I need a case I can use. I really wanted to love this case,....... I just can't.

This case is great! I am very active and not always the most careful with my phone! Same day I put the case on I dropped it from the roof right onto the drive way! My phone was perfectly fine!

I wish I had read the reviews prior to buying. As stated several times, I have the same issues with sound. Calls are muffled, making hard to hear. Weird cracking while listening to videos, music and speakerphone. I was wanting to protect my phone (waterproofing) but I will be going back to Otter.

Great for water and damage protection. Great for fingerprint and typing, barely noticeavle screen protector and no impact to camera or external or phone speaker. BUT!!!!! Terrible for being able to use the phone as a phone. The waterproofing design blocks the microphone and muffles the user to much to be understandable on the other end of the call.

Color is not the best, but can't beat the price! These waterproof case muffle the in-coming call sound (ear piece), making it difficult to carry on a conversation. The last Lifeproof case the bottom part covers the charging port broke after ONE WEEK of use, because it's made out of fragile plastic. I hope this one last longer than that!
