That is odd that this FRE case is making it difficult for you to hear folks and that the sound is distorted. We are sorry that this is happening and we absolutely want to get this resolved.
Typically, the quickest and most effective way to alleviate any audio issues with your LifeProof case will be to remove your device, blow some air through the speaker and microphone membranes on the case, and then re-install your phone with the bottom going in first.
